Flawless driving, too. Honestly, I’m a sucker for that kind of class.
This is probably turning into a total nightmare for Hamilton.

I don't know how many of us actually took TBF seriously when he kept rambling about Jenson Button’s supposed standing within the team. The outcome of these negotiations will settle things pretty quickly. That one-year deal he’s supposedly pushing for smells like a desperate attempt to squeeze out the competition—and let's be honest, there are very few people left with enough cash to actually pay him.

I don't see where Button could possibly go, given his current form, other than Ferrari or Red Bull. However, Red Bull seems like a questionable choice considering they already have far too many drivers crowded into their camp. Not to mention the fact that Sebastian Vettel, much like Fernando Alonso, doesn't handle internal team rivalry particularly well. Ferrari, on the other hand, is desperate for a top-tier driver and would be a logical choice if he truly wants to switch teams; yet, one has to wonder what happens if Button starts treating Alonso the way he’s treating Hamilton this year...

All things considered, from my perspective, it seems best for Button to stay right where he is. I suspect all this tension regarding the contract and the threats of leaving are merely leverage for negotiations. Then again, wasn't that exactly how things looked at the end of '09 with Brawn?

Total respect for Sebastian Vettel after such a flawlessly executed race—one truly worthy of a two-time world champion. 🙏 He silenced a lot of the doubters today, and it’s clear he’s matured significantly compared to last year. Is it purely a result of his growing experience, or perhaps just the benefit of having less pressure on the title since someone else already has it in their sights? 🙏

That being said, Jenson Button also shut down his critics. I think we should stop the habit of trying to pigeonhole him alongside names like Massa or Webber. Bravo, Jenson! 🙏 🙏

I fully anticipate that the second driver for one particular outfit will kiss the wall, triggering an unnecessary SC right after their lead driver has just finished a pit stop. 😁
Of course, we’ll be talking about that star driver and a team with massive expectations that consistently fails to deliver on them—all while the second driver finds his seat getting increasingly shaky. 😁

Then again, we’ve seen this pattern before. I have a backup set of expectations: Sebastian Vettel defending his title, Jenson Button outperforming Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso beating Felipe Massa, Michael Schumacher being faster than Robert Kubica, and perhaps Massa actually managing to beat Timo Glock. 🙏 😁

It seems like the McLaren Public Relations Department probably keeps a folder of five or six pre-written statements ready just to cover Hamilton's usual "mishaps," and they simply relay them over the radio like "statement A, can you hear me, statement A". 😁 🙏 😂 🤣

Here are some photos from the scene. 🙏

I have a few more shots where things went quite well for us, but this particular set really illustrates just how badly the car was mangled. It’s clear from these angles that the fire was anything but harmless.

It might have been wiser to visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway first; from what I gather, after the experience at Monza, the trip to Canada is a step or two down in quality. 😁

Look, listen... a friend of mine who was there with me visited Monza last year, yet he was still incredibly satisfied yesterday regardless. Perhaps the secret lies in the fact that this year's Indy race—or whatever they're calling it now—offered much more substance than usual.

Next year, we'll try to coordinate for a race further afield. Maybe something in Spain...

And do you have any photos? 😁

I didn't bother bringing a camera myself, but my buddy and his friend had theirs on hand. Once I get my hands on them, I'll post a few shots of the scenery that turned out quite brilliantly.

My overall impressions were decent enough. The turnout was solid, though not overwhelming. The food was overpriced, so we mostly just stuck to our own snacks. The merchandise was also steep, though I did snag a cool t-shirt (unfortunately, not in my size). Some idiots at the entrance wouldn't let us bring our folding chairs in, so we ended up sitting on the ground, but even that wasn't a major issue.
All in all, a good experience. 🙏

It was a fantastic race. 🙏
I had a clear view of Heidfeld’s car going up in flames, and watching those intense overtakes unfold in person was truly something else. 🙏 🙏
