Just a quick one regarding MIT

Whenever I try to make a foreign currency payment—using my foreign currency account—the only destination option that pops up is the exact same account I'm paying from.

It’s the same deal if I attempt a foreign currency transfer from my standard US dollar checking account—once again, it just points back to my foreign currency account as the only available destination.

The thing is, what I’m actually trying to do is transfer some funds over to my Moneybookers account.

So, what’s actually the difference between a checking account and a savings account? (I'll be the first to admit—I'm totally lost here, but there's no shame in asking, right?)

Do I have to pay an extra fee for this one too? And can I use my token alongside it?

Besides, what’s the point of having two cards that basically do the exact same thing. Honestly, I’d much rather just get rid of this Starbucks card—it's pretty old and doesn't even have a CVV code on the back for online shopping.

Quick question for the group here

I’m currently using a student banking package over at Apple and I recently picked up a Maestro debit card
Now, I already know the drill with that one—it has a token for online shopping, I can hit up an ATM, use it at the grocery store, and all that comes with its own monthly fees $1.75

A little while back, I also received a foreign currency Visa Electron—though honestly, I’ve never touched it and I’m not entirely sure what the point of it was

But just recently, a USD Visa Electron showed up in my mail, and from what I can tell, it seems to work exactly like the Maestro. I haven't even activated it yet, so I’m a bit in the dark regarding how the security tokens and various transaction fees work. So, I figured I'd ask you guys:

What am I actually supposed to do with these Visa cards, especially the one in dollars?

Honestly, I've tested two of them, and neither comes close to Windows 10—they’re just a nightmare to actually use, way more complicated than they need to be... 👎

Yeah, right... CD Burner Pro is only about 10MB, whereas Windows 10 (or whatever else you're running) is packed with 700MB of useless bloatware, media players, and all that other junk that just slows down my PC.

If you ask me, go with CdBurnerPRO—even if you aren't tech-savvy, the icons make it pretty obvious what each setting actually does.

What did I just go and sign myself up for—paying monthly fees just to maintain a foreign currency account?

What’s the move here... should I just open an account at another bank?

So, I just set up my Visa debit card through the Federal Reserve, but the only thing is—my card is purple.🤷

I tried registering it via PayPal, typing in all those little digits (though I’m a bit unsure if the CVV is that big number sitting above my name, and whether I should be including spaces or not)... anyway, PayPal keeps giving me this message:

This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.

Any experts out there who know what's going on?

I was just talking to my wife today and she goes—hey, turns out our card doesn't actually work on PayPal.
- Wait, what? I was told it would work fine.
- Well, apparently it worked for someone else... so, I guess we'll see.

Anyway, I went ahead and placed the order, so whatever happens, happens.

So, basically I just head down to Chase, ask for an orange Visa Electron for my checking account, and I'm good to go? What kind of fees am I looking at—and how long does it actually take to get it in my hands?

I want to apologize upfront—I know I’m jumping in with this question after so many pages of discussion, but honestly, I’m still pretty lost when it comes to all of this.

So, here’s the deal: I need a card with a CVV code to link to PayPal so I can finally pick up some stuff on eBay. Right now, I’ve just got a Visa from Chase and a basic student checking account. Since I’m still a student and don't have a steady income yet, I’m still figuring out how all this banking and account stuff actually works.
Basically, what’s the easiest and cheapest way to get a card that I can successfully register on PayPal?

Thanks! 🙏

I’m pretty new to the world of finance. Up until now, my idea of "money" was just whatever cash I had sitting in my pocket—but I finally went ahead and opened an account at JPMorgan Chase... everyone in my circle uses them, and honestly, I didn't want to reinvent the wheel since I'm still learning the ropes. Anyway, they handed me this little hardware token—the kind with that keychain attachment—which, let's be real, I'm definitely not going to be walking around with in public because it looks pretty tacky. Apparently, it’s what you need to access online banking. So, I’m following the instructions, generating my PINs, and I finally make it to the login screen. It asks me to enter the OTP code... easy enough, but then it starts asking for a "token number." Now, where on earth is that? I’ve flipped through their entire little guidebook and found nothing. I tried the number on the back of the device, but no luck. I tried my PIN... still nothing.

Does anyone actually know what this "token number" is supposed to be, or where I can find it?

And don't go sweating your eyes out either... honestly, if I were in your shoes, I'd just wait until September. That way, the tattoo isn't sitting there being baked by the summer sun and all that other nonsense.

Wait, why wouldn't you be allowed to sweat?
Back when I was training in kickboxing, I was absolutely drenched after every single session. I actually asked about this at the time, and they told me it’s actually great—it helps clear out your pores faster. You've gotta let your skin breathe somehow, right?

stormytrucker21 said:I’m trying to wrap my head around how dangerous this actually is for your health, and honestly, what kind of damage does it do to your wallet?

What are all the red flags you need to look out for with this stuff?

😕

And once it's over, am I even allowed to donate blood?

Look, if you let some random guy tattoo you in a dilapidated basement, sure, you might pick up something nasty. But otherwise, most professional tattoo studios in the States operate like actual medical clinics—they have to pass strict inspections. They’ll unwrap a brand-new needle right in front of you, so you can be 100% confident about the sterile conditions.
It isn't dangerous at all... your muscles might feel a little tender underneath where the needle hits, but once everything heals up and the skin settles, you're good to go.
Personally, I haven't had any issues even after four years.

My tattoo cost me $333 for a 15x15cm design. But since I got a hookup, it was cheaper—usually, you're looking at at least $150.

One thing to keep in mind: don't get inked in the middle of summer. The intense sun can really irritate skin that's already sensitive from the process, which might increase your risk of skin cancer.
Then again, you could get skin cancer just by being reckless and tanning too much under the blazing sun... so... maybe aim for autumn or winter and you'll be fine.
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
The search function is acting up on me again—I think we’ve touched on this before, but here goes nothing:
Does anyone happen to know:
Where can I find a good chiropractor in Washington, D.C.? I'm looking for pricing, reviews, and general experiences. My trainer suggested I get my spine properly aligned before I really start hitting the heavy weights for my back muscles, so I want to do this right.
I had to get blood drawn once—it was some requirement for school, so I figured I’d just get it over with since I had a big exam the next day... and man, what a nightmare. I’ve always been a bit squeamish about needles, but the one they used felt like a freaking cattle prod! They hit me at this weird 45-degree angle and then basically forced it down, pinning it against my arm until you could actually see the vein bulging right under the needle. I turned pale as a sheet and my whole arm started shaking... it was awful. Honestly, never again!

Just kidding... though I doubt even that is easy. I tried learning the C-Walk once—which feels pretty similar, actually—and you can basically get the hang of it in a week if you just follow YouTube tutorials... at least until it looks somewhat decent. But if you want to master the actual technical moves? That takes a serious amount of time!
Hip Hop Dance in Hobbies & Leisure ·
I’ve always been pretty obsessed with street dance—especially breakdancing. For a while there, I was actually trying to teach myself at home using YouTube, though I ended up breaking a few things around the house in the process...
After that, I jumped from popping to one thing and then another, but honestly? I didn't really master anything! Eventually, I just signed up for some Latin dance classes, where I basically just mess around and do my own thing with a bit of a hip hop twist.

Anyway... I have a few questions...
Does anyone know where those urban dance crews like Street Rhythm or the others hang out? Do they have any contact info or websites? Also, does anyone know what the monthly dues look like? And most importantly—is it too late to start learning how to handstand and flip when I'm already 21?
Shoot 'em Up in Movies ·
Honestly, I was just physically nauseated by how much this movie drags and overstays its welcome. For about half the runtime, I found myself constantly questioning the logic of what was happening on screen—it was just so grating. Even a game like Max Payne feels more grounded in reality than this mess. I ended up powering through the second half with a completely checked-out mindset, treating it like total brain candy, and somehow it felt slightly less painful. Ultimately, this flick was clearly designed for people who want to turn their brains off entirely and just zone out.
How can I gain weight? in Health ·
Gary Kern73 said:So, I’m a 19-year-old guy—about 5'10" and weighing roughly 132 lbs. Obviously, that’s way too low, since my BMI is about 1.1 points under what it should be. The frustrating part is that I eat four times a day, and I’m not even "dieting"—I just eat everything in sight, including plenty of chocolate... I really don't hold back at all. I usually end up eating right before bed, sometimes even heavy meals, but it just doesn't stick. When I talk to people, they’re always shocked by how much I eat versus how skinny I stay. I’ve been hitting the gym for about three months now and managed to put on maybe 4 or 5 lbs—which means I was even thinner before that. Now, I’m seriously considering buying some supplements to help put on mass. I really need to bulk up because I have my annual physical for the Army, and last time, they barely let me pass. Does anyone have advice or maybe a website where I can look into this?
Thanks so much!!!!

I’m dealing with almost the exact same thing... I’m 6'0" and only around 165 lbs, which feels pretty light. My whole group of friends eats constantly—pizzas, burgers, you name it—but the weight just won't budge. It’s funny because they actually have to watch their diets because of high cholesterol, while I can eat whatever I want and nothing happens.😠
