Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
redbear12 said:DEMOCRACY June 10, 2020.

Talk about blatant cheering for the Republican Party. Just when I think it can’t get any more obvious, they blow my mind. 🙏

I mostly skipped over all that heavy-handed praise for the Republican Party and went straight for the critiques. Honestly, you have to be incredibly well-prepared if you want to offer even a shred of criticism; otherwise, the host finds every possible way to discredit anyone who isn't perfectly aligned with the Republican Party line. 🙏

Around the 50-minute mark, a woman mentions she's backing Škoro. Suddenly, the host feels the need to give this whole lecture on "experiments" and why we shouldn't let things like that happen. 🙏

1h: 08 min Highlights.

The guy calling in says: This show has turned into nothing but a hype reel for the Republican Party.

The host responds: So you don't think they deserve it? 😲

The man brings up Istanbul. The host fires back: And what exactly is bothering you about that?

It’ll be interesting to see how this show behaves during the election campaign and just how much hysteria they'll stir up.🍿

What channel is this even on? 🤮

EDIT: Oh, I see now. It's that local station from the small town near Bujanac—the same one that recently kicked people out.

He's blathering on about kicking people out of the party to maintain the coalition, but the second Beljak throws Milinovica's name in his face, suddenly he's claiming it’s all just because of "differing viewpoints"...

Which is hilarious, considering he literally said just a moment before how the Republican Party welcomes diverse opinions...

What a clown...

Well, they didn't kick him out. That's his main priority. If he even manages to snag a seat in Congress, it'll be a miracle.

Seriously, you Republican trolls are getting out of hand... just completely unhinged...

Is this some kind of annual troll festival or what?

Got anything actual to say about the "platform" put out by your precious Republican leaders?

If we’re talking records, let's talk about the ultimate "guarantee card" from your former big shot, Ivo Sanders—the guy you all swore by and voted for during his second term, even though he didn't fulfill a single thing he promised during the first...

It's the exact same story with Andrej Plenković—he hasn't delivered on most of the stuff he was promising back in 2016 either...

As for right now? Their new "platform" is basically just a whole lot of nothing...

What does your post even have to do with this? Seems like your only goal is to bash the Republican Party whenever you get a chance. To be fair, the discussion started because of yet another Republican promise to create 100,000 jobs—so yeah, it was being criticized. Then we looked back at the 2016 elections where the Democratic Party promised 80,000 and the Republicans promised 180,000. And then this guy jumps in talking about how Pusićka is the record holder with 200,000 jobs. If I recall correctly, he isn't even voting for the Republican Party this time around and is pretty critical of Pleki and his little crew.

Adam Collins4 said:Look, there’s no profound wisdom in saying this—it’s just the unfortunate reality of things...

It’s the same way German investors or anyone else rolls into town... we’re just steadily drifting toward the East.

And that's a reality we can't just wish away. If you try to slash the minimum wage, the unions are going to rise up immediately. Besides, I don't think anyone actually wants us turning into China or Vietnam—working ourselves to death for pennies.

Adam Collins4 said:Cheaper labor—honestly, why is everyone acting so shocked?☕

They’ll be paying people maybe $500 or $600 a week there and everyone will be thrilled... I mean, in the States, you can barely find anyone willing to work for that kind of money anymore... but over in Canada? With cash like that, you're practically living like royalty...

And what you're saying 👍

Kraft Heinz is building a plant in Mostar while trying to shut down the jam facility in Koprivnica

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, the leader of the local Republican Party, Dragan Čović, and Kraft Heinz CEO Marin Pucar laid the cornerstone for a new factory near Mostar this past Friday. It was quite the ceremony, though I guess it had a rather heavy political scent to it.

They’re building the plant near Mostar just because it's the closest spot for them—if I read that right. Apparently, they're sourcing tomatoes there and plan to set up a processing facility right on site. Not sure what the deal is with the jam maker, though. Really hope they hang in there.

You're not wrong there—it's just like when the Democrats promised 100,000, and the Republican Party immediately shot for twice that much. 😁

Emily Smith6 said:LEAKED: THE REPUBLICAN PARTY'S CAMPAIGN PLATFORM: 14 PROMISES FROM ANDREJ PLENKOVIĆ. They're talking about an average salary of $2.50, doubling child benefits, maternity leave paid at full salary, $43 grants for young people, creating 100,000 jobs, shrinking the size of government, and ramping up the fight against corruption...

1. Cutting down the number of federal departments
2. Raising the average salary to $2533
3. Full salary for maternity leave
4. Tax cuts for income, corporate profits, and sales tax
5. A new national children's hospital in Washington, D.C.
6. $5 billion for modernizing the education system
7. Increasing agricultural production by 30 percent
8. $30 billion allocated to various regions
9. Boosting social assistance to $500
10. $350 million for the creative industries
11. Implementing spatial plans for ZERP and the continental shelf
12. The complete digitalization of America
13. Modernizing the military
14. Cracking down on crime

What happened to those 100,000 new jobs they promised last time? Or was that the Democrats—maybe the Republican Party promised a different number? And honestly, what does that specific number even mean to politicians? It feels like they've been promising that exact figure since the old Democratic era. Why doesn't anyone ever promise a million jobs, or maybe something weirdly specific like 88,478?

Is there actually any political party out there that doesn't promise the moon?

If you're voting for the American forum sovereignty enthusiasts, we'll even promise that we won't promise anything.

Well, fine then...

Now we'll just have to wait for Dr. Chris Myers' HSP and the A-HSP (Authentic American Pussy) to kick in.

Which dark money funds are bankrolling this whole operation? 😁

Look, we—the true American forum sovereigns—have to settle for squeezing onto the subway for now. But that’s going to change once we take power. We'll hold a referendum on the official fleet procurement. Audi or a Bear. Let the people decide sovereignty for themselves.

If the Penises and Spermić are on board, I suggest a virtual protest against the current state of the forum and all this moderator torture. Enough is enough—they've had their turn piercing us. It's time to flip the script.

For the Forum Ready!

Just you wait until the dirty campaign starts—then I’ll pull out those posts from 2006 where you were praising squirrels and begging for a badger extermination. 😁

In the spirit of election season, I’m thinking about starting my own party, the HFS (American Forum Sovereignists).

Here’s our quick program:
1. Total sovereignty—we’ll comment freely and independently (makes sense, since we call ourselves Sovereignists, right?)
2. Minimal moderator interference—unless someone is actually being abusive
3. Scraping the "trolling" penalties—most of those were just used to target people with different opinions anyway
4. A new way to pick moderators and making their actions much more transparent
5. Paying top users for their activity, free shows for all members, 100,000 new jobs, and finally finishing the Pelješac Bridge and the Sljeme Cable Car (hey, if we're going to stick to typical pre-election promises and such 😁).

The party will operate across the entire forum, and anyone who wants to join (or, well, anyone we decide we want) is welcome. Feel free to sign up where the membership section is already set up—and don't worry, there's no membership fee 😁. Our slogan: Sovereign—for a better forum.

I think there are plenty of people here interested in this topic. Personally, I’m all for starting up an online community focused on unknown science.

Adam Doyle63 said:Must be nice being from Canada, having everything fall right into place like that. 🤣 It’s all just one big, calculated scheme to snatch the world of Gera right out from under us while we're stuck rowing aimlessly through the backwaters of some forgotten American suburb. 🤣

You've got a point there. While we're stuck dealing with our own mess, people from Canada are over there feasting on our catch and making off with everything. 😁

Since we’re talking suggestions—I remember a good chunk of the History crew (myself included) asking for an alternative history sub-forum, mostly just for those "what if" scenarios. I also suggested that since the Film PDF doesn't have its own dedicated space, we should start a sub-forum specifically for individual film discussions. It would make the general topics on that PDF much easier to find and follow. So, anyway, here's me throwing those ideas out there again.

brightviper29 said:Here are two quick little threads for us.

First topic:
Let me break down the moderator for you.
I’ll be the first to admit it—I’ve always been pretty wary of any kind of authority figure. My track record with the police, military brass, inspectors, or even customs agents? Not exactly great. Don't get mad at me, but honestly—by default—I tend to lump the moderators into that same category.
It’s a relief that we can actually talk about the moderators on here without facing any blowback.😁

We could set this thread up so even the regular folks around here have a way to push back against the mod machine. Imagine picking one day a week where a moderator is basically "on call" for us—maybe Thursdays from 9:00 PM to midnight—to face a little bit of friendly interrogation. We’d put them through the wringer with some weird, slightly uncomfortable questions about their life and how they run things. We’re talking everything from which users drive them crazy, to what kind of trouble they got into with their parents growing up, or even just who they root for in sports. We could even get into the random stuff—their favorite adult sites, or what they actually do for work when they aren't playing hall monitor here. Just a way to flip the script for a few hours.

The mods should probably volunteer for this showdown first—then maybe follow some kind of order later on, or eventually just whatever the boss commands. If a moderator doesn't make it through that whole ordeal—you know, the "forum initiation"—they’ll eventually just end up being another regular user.
These kinds of hearings feel like we’re basically bringing back the Inquisition—it’s honestly a bit much. Before long, they’ll probably be running surveys just to see if people liked the moderator’s vibe during the session.

Topic two:
Just thinking about all those times I managed to outsmart the system—whether it was dodging taxes or playing some clever games with government agencies and officials. The topic is pretty straightforward—there’s plenty of room here for some real stories. I'm talking everything from those heavy, gut-wrenching confessions to random run-ins with the local police, city officials, or even customs agents.

Are you actually hoping one of us ends up behind bars? Or are you just throwing out ideas for how to get us there? 😁

Adam Doyle63 said:What was the deal with the debate club anyway? Which PDF was it hosted on? I know it never really took off—I was actually digging through the archives yesterday. To be fair, debating with Lastan wasn't exactly "debating" in the traditional sense (and I mean that as a compliment), but I loved the concept.

Today, we should just take two stubborn badgers, throw them into a topic, and let them go at it without any moderators or penalty cards. Final word, audience vote, and some laurels for the winner?

Good idea. But why limit the topic to just two people? Maybe it’d be better if we split into two groups and tackle a subject together. For example, you put five liberals in one group and five conservatives in the other and just let them fight.

Could you just give me a quick rundown on how this thread differs from the USPTO section for new topics and ideas? Just want to make sure I'm posting in the right spot.
