This discussion has spiraled, though frankly, this thread shouldn't have even been posted on this subforum. If it had been opened here under these circumstances, one of us moderators would have immediately asked for links to back up any claims. Without proof, the thread would simply be locked. Any assertions regarding what happens on certain forums—whether it’s "always," "never," or "occasionally"—or accusations about how a moderator is acting, must be accompanied by supporting links. Otherwise, the supermoderators or the site administrators won't have any way to review the situation or resolve any actual issues...
Since this topic was moved over from another section, please provide those links now so we can bring this thread in line with our posting rules. If not, the supermoderator won't be able to assess the matter, and the thread will be locked...

Generally speaking, this kind of behavior isn't tolerated on the forum and usually results in a warning. If you've experienced leniency elsewhere, it was likely just due to a moderator being kind...

But you aren't. I recently warned the users here on the Alternative board to stop jumping into every single thread regarding Alternative and turning them into petty arguments. Those instructions haven't been followed here. Moving forward, I will be much stricter. Expect heavier warnings or even direct bans for this type of conduct. Perhaps a firmer hand will yield better results than the approach we've used until now...
But it didn't happen. We aren't living in some version of Minority Report just yet. Something actually has to occur before anyone can even begin to look into someone's liability...
If you had just asked politely, the President would have unbanned you two years ago. We grant those requests all the time. This is nothing like the permanent bans or profile deletions we regularly turn down because we simply don't do that... Regardless, you're now permanently banned. That applies to your second profile too. And it will apply to any future accounts you try to create, if you even bother...
We don't delete profiles here. You can simply log out and walk away from the account...
If you're being abusive or posting garbage, you might face a temporary or permanent ban, but the profile itself stays on the system. In the case of a permanent ban, we disable participation for all accounts linked to that user. To be clear—those secondary accounts are also permanently banned, though the original profile remains... For temporary bans, we similarly restrict any other accounts tied to the same individual. Essentially, those extra accounts receive a permanent ban while the original account's suspension is extended accordingly.
Where are you headed? Which hospital? It’s never quite the same everywhere, even if the paperwork says otherwise... Here are a few threads where people have shared their experiences. These cover everything from inpatient wards to outpatient clinics and day centers.
James Lee77 said:Calling someone a fascist is just a nasty insult. I mean, fascism is pretty much considered one of the absolute worst evils in history, and honestly, for good reason. You really need some serious proof before you throw a word like that around. But lately, it feels like people in society—and even here on this forum—are tossing it around way too easily.
I’m curious, though... is it actually allowed on this forum to call someone a fascist without having a massive reason to back it up? If it is, why? And if it isn't, what kind of punishment should we be looking at?
It shouldn't be allowed. Just report the post. If there’s no response even after 24 hours have passed, come back here and start a thread with a link to the problematic post. The thread must include a direct link to the post. Everything is outlined in the rules in this PDF. That's the key...
Aside from the fact that the reason for the ban is listed right on the thread—just click the icon next to the flagged post—you can always send them a private message once their suspension ends to ask directly. We don't step in to answer questions about why other users have been banned...
Guys, I honestly don't know how to put this more gently—you all get pretty exhausting with these same old repetitive arguments. No matter what topic is brought up regarding Alternative, everything just devolves into the same endless bickering. Next time you feel the urge to jump in, just ask yourselves: did anyone actually invite me to join this specific conversation? By "invited," I mean if someone specifically asked, "Hey, [username], would you be kind enough to share your thoughts on this issue?" If that hasn't been said, please just leave it alone...
The moderation here doesn't actually address your question. The staff managing this thread aren't the same people handling the Politics section. Generally, you can expect a response to an appeal within 24 hours...
* your question specifically targets that other section ** just because we moderate this area doesn't mean we handle inquiries regarding how other sections are run
To’s the long and short of it, and I'm done repeating myself: -you filed an appeal -in your opening, you linked someone else's current ban to a broken promise based solely on your own assumptions, without any verification; that's just asking for trouble -appeals like that usually result in a strike or a permanent closure -you didn't provide any explanation for your reasoning, even after I asked -the strike was issued strictly according to the rules
Maybe it’s because I never actually hinted at anyone getting banned...
vividfox89 said:I didn't say anything offensive, and I certainly didn't present any assumptions as facts. Where exactly did I do that? Please, just quote me...
Once the evidence finally came to light, Chuck promised he’d lift the strike and the ban. Yet, looking at our colleague hr1u00, eight days later, he's still sitting there suspended...
Is there a specific reason you’re bringing up Chuckie's ban and tying it to the fact that you're still suspended... or was that just a random thought? I offered you a chance to explain this earlier, but you stayed silent... In a civilized society, accusing someone of breaking their word without any proof is pretty insulting... but I don't see why this is even becoming a debate. You didn't get a warning for being offensive. You got it because you came here specifically to stir the pot. That’s exactly why that part of the appeal was denied. I never actually said you had to apologize. I just pointed out that you haven't. Usually, when someone apologizes, it shows they realize they were in the wrong. In your case, you still don't seem to see the issue or realize how unnecessary that provocation was... No one is obligated to engage with topics that include that kind of behavior.
If Chuck feels like I insulted him, he should just tell me directly so we can clear the air... and I'll apologize if needed. Or is the moderation team supposed to be above criticism here?
You told me that we don't support playing lawyer here, even though I wasn't acting as anyone's attorney, yet you seem perfectly fine defending Chuck...
No, I’m just cleaning up this PDF to make sure the appeals look more professional and cut out any unnecessary provocations...
vividfox89 said:Besides, I never actually suggested you were the one who initiated the ban. That was just an implication from Michelle Evans.
Please stop trolling. 😁 Let’s just move on and not carry this over to another thread. It’s pretty obvious what I said and what you said, and honestly, it all happened less than half an hour ago... maybe some of us have already moved past it.
vividfox89 said:Michelle Evans, I guess I’ll have to scan every single thread just to see if someone got a warning, because apparently, I'm getting flagged for making an assumption you happen to disagree with...
You shouldn't come in here throwing around insults disguised as facts when you haven't actually verified what happened. If you can't check with the mods via DM, then it's better not to post about it at all. A simple appeal would have worked fine without all this... That's probably the better way to handle it.
