Clarification regarding PDF Alternatives in Feedback & Suggestions ·
urbanwalker72 said:Could we perhaps examine those deleted posts together to determine if they were actually more constructive than the ones that remain untouched?

For instance, have you happened to catch a glimpse of those removed messages yourself?

That isn't possible for us. That task falls strictly under the jurisdiction of the superadmins and site administrators.
Actually, I am able to view the deleted content.

urbanwalker72 said:I have truly never encountered any friction with moderators on any platform, and I have been an active participant in various online communities for over a decade.

No one has ever seen fit to delete my contributions or issue a ban.

This is a first for me. And the reason behind it seems quite transparent.

It appears the moderator simply takes issue with my perspectives, and is therefore misusing their authority. Since I am neither insulting anyone nor violating any established forum rules, they haven't banned me; instead, they choose to simply erase my posts. It is, quite frankly, the most efficient way to silence someone.

None of the moderators overseeing the alternative section hold any particular bias for or against this topic.
There is a distinct difference between expressing an opinion on a subject and targeting an individual interlocutor. You certainly aren't the only person whose posts have been removed.

urbanwalker72 said:This issue pertains exclusively to the alternative sub-forum. As anyone can readily verify, I write on other sections without any trouble whatsoever.

Attempting to enforce strict logic and the scientific method within the alternative section is apparently enough grounds for deletion.

If you visit the thread titled 'what is pseudoscience?', you will see that the moderator yielded to a user who requested that guests from the natural science section be purged from the discussion.

From what I can observe, you aren't having any issues here either. No one has suggested that your contributions lack substance. 🤷
Furthermore, no one has been "eliminated" from the thread; the door remains open for everyone to participate.

Generally speaking, the Moderator reserves the right to remove posts if they are deemed unconstructive, off-topic, a response to a deleted thread, or simply a reaction to previously removed content, all without providing further clarification. This policy isn't limited just to the Alternative section but applies to the entire Forum
.

The moderator in question opted to close this existing thread—which features a different primary actor—simply because it represents yet another iteration of the same subject matter appearing in this specific PDF. Several similar discussions have already been consolidated into a single thread:

As for the remaining content, it has been redirected over to the Off-Topic section: ,

In an ideal world, perhaps the original poster should have been issued a warning for duplicating an active discussion, while those engaging in the chat and off-topic banter—essentially the general mockery—should have faced penalties instead. Would that satisfy everyone?
I have absolutely no intention of permitting a flood of repetitive threads to persist, regardless of which subforum they happen to inhabit.

Borna & co. are more than welcome to continue their conversation within the original thread.

Kyle Roberts5 said:Enough is enough! It isn't merely that the moderators seem entirely indifferent toward the vast majority of subjects discussed within the Alternative section, nor is it just that they fail to grasp the core essence of most discussions while still choosing to arbitrarily delete posts. It goes deeper than that; people sharing unconventional views here find themselves forced to constantly justify their very way of thinking, all while any random proponent of mainstream science can swoop into an Alternative thread and wage war against us, shielded by the protection of the Alternative moderators. To top it all off—pay attention now—Moderator Carol Lopez23 actually includes this link http://symblogia.files.wordpress.com...rprijevod1.png in her signature, which is not just offensive, but a direct insult to every single individual who has ever written supportively about any topic found in the Alternative section. And frankly, her other link is no better.

I find this absolutely disgraceful!!! I am demanding that Carol Lopez23 be permanently stripped of her moderator status and issued an appropriate ban lasting several months because, as I have already emphasized, she has insulted every Alternative thinker personally. Or perhaps someone should appoint me as a moderator for any thread where I might insult and belittle those who write professionally within them.

Well, look at how upset he’s become.
First of all—my links are not an insult to anyone. They represent my own personal perspective, and clearly, they bother you because either:
a) they represent the truth
b) or your sudden burst of altruism has made you unexpectedly concerned for "every Alternative thinker."
I don't recall you complaining about the previous one, and notably, not a single homeopath complained either. Nor did any anti-vax advocate.

That being said, if the Admins believe I ought to be replaced, they need only say the word, and I will step down.

The moderators possess a sufficient understanding of most topics and participate in them quite adequately. It is simply that on a daily basis, there are perhaps only four or five relevant subjects, mostly revolving around Nibiru, Earth, something regarding "on the edge," and that is essentially the extent of it.

Furthermore, it isn't the case that "mainstreamers" are constantly invading threads to spout nonsense without cause. On the contrary, I consistently issue warnings and citations to any participants who violate our rules.
The Admins have full visibility and can see the massive amount of off-topic and spam posts generated by both sides across various threads. Just ask the "contra" group over in the Sun gazing thread exactly how many citations they have racked up.

Arthur Fowler83 said:I have noticed that as well. And it isn't limited to the Alternative section; it happens in the Religion section too. There are several moderators who curate threads discussing things they personally believe don't exist or are foolish, and therefore should be eradicated. If that is the case, why on earth are they even moderating those threads??

What we require is a counterweight, a sort of golden mean. The fundamental point is that the forum rules must be upheld. Beyond that, moderators are fellow forum members themselves, and they post accordingly; thus, they naturally hold "their" side.

In any case, every single post can be reported, so—knock yourself out.

Arthur Fowler83 said:They don't necessarily have to believe it, but they should at least show some respect for those who do, rather than mocking them—much like how the Moderator was treated by Kyle Roberts5.

Regarding the matter of objectivity, I never suggested we need a zealot; rather, what we need is an individual who remains genuinely open to diverse perspectives.

True objectivity doesn't mean being a rigid skeptic who thinks their sole purpose is to "enlighten" everyone else, dismissing religious or alternative viewpoints as primitive or foolish simply because they haven't personally experienced them.

There is a significant difference between healthy inquiry and the intentional, blatant spreading of falsehoods.

Kyle Roberts5 said:Dukakis, you personally seem to be missing the bigger picture. I recall our previous discussions, and if you don't, consider this: in this specific thread, you aren't even the one being questioned. On the contrary, you are one of those people tearing down alternative ideas without any real arguments or even basic foundational knowledge—all while being shielded by the Alternative Moderator. While I agree objectivity is vital, someone lacking a solid classical education (looking at you, or perhaps Carol Lopez23), and who refuses to engage in deep study of topics outside of high school curricula, mainstream media, or gaming forums, cannot claim to be objective if they dismiss everything else as "stupid." Furthermore, there seems to be an issue with ego here; like many of us, there's a certain inability to handle criticism or, heaven forbid, a well-reasoned argument.

Tell me, how can you not expect exactly what you are complaining about when faced with this kind of post?

Kyle Roberts5 said:Once you complete a traditional education and begin exploring uncharted territories, you'll find that everything you discover initially gets labeled as "alternative," even if it has been proven multiple times. Essentially, anything not featured on the nightly news is branded as an alternative. So, to answer your question, the solution would be constant learning through quality literature and maintaining a critical eye that perpetually challenges established views. It requires a scientific mindset without pre-conceived notions of what the outcome will be.

But let's set that aside for now; finish high school and college first, and then things will get much easier for you...

I couldn't agree more. That is why I am making an appeal: anyone who lacks a fundamental understanding of biology, astronomy, or similar fields should refrain from posting in the Alternative section of this PDF. Or frankly, the forum entirely.
Is that acceptable enough for you?

Kyle Roberts5 said:Personally, I find myself leaning heavily toward empirical evidence, whereas theories serve as excellent fodder for conversation. Therefore, looking at things empirically: is it truly appropriate for an Admin to insult the very participants for whom this PDF was intended? If you wish to discuss specific Alternative topics, please direct those inquiries to the corresponding thread within the appropriate PDF. With an attitude that dismisses everything as mere charlatanism, one might find themselves quite poorly positioned given the current state of affairs.

Which moderator has insulted anyone? If you are referring to my signature—please look above.
That PDF is a saint compared to how things used to be, particularly regarding certain sub-forums. Speaking purely from an empirical standpoint.

Kyle Roberts5 said:You aren't grasping the core issue here, Dukakis, and that is a demonstrable fact. It is quite kind of you to bold my comments, though they clearly escape your notice despite the explanations provided. Understanding cause and effect is vital to objective observation; that is the very bedrock of science. Perhaps if you spent less time with books and more time out in the real world, you would eventually see reason. There is hope for you—not much, mind you, but there is some.

Why don't you simply open a dedicated thread to debate my character and my work? This particular discussion serves a different purpose, and frankly, I find it staggering that such off-topic trolling goes unpunished while the abysmal moderation over at Alternative—and a moderator who seems to hold a blatant grudge against Alternative enthusiasts—goes completely unaddressed.

🙏 🤦 🙏

Provide a link, a statement, or a comment regarding this poor moderation. Just try to remember how many off-topic posts you have personally contributed.

Kyle Roberts5 said:Allow me to highlight and explain the signature of the moderator from Alternative.

Signature: September 26, 2011. I'm going to go grab a drink, smoke, and have some fun. I am certainly not going to take idiots and their nonsense seriously.

So?
Kyle Roberts5 said:The date September 26, 2011, refers to the alignment of the sun and the comet Elenin-Earth, which is currently a major topic of debate on Alternative. As it stands, no living soul knows or can prove exactly what will transpire on that day, if anything at all. I am simply following one of the most active threads on Alternative. Personally, I haven't posted a single comment on that thread, nor do I intend to.

Kyle Roberts5 said:He just goes off to hang out, smoke, and mess around — I have nothing to say about that except that it is truly pathetic.

I am honestly not sure how you choose to spend your leisure time. ☕

Kyle Roberts5 said: And not taking things seriously — there is a link provided here to a chart, structured much like the periodic table of elements, which categorizes nearly every topic we have debated into blocks labeled "silly, frivolous, illusion, pseudo-medicine, charlatanism, and New Age bunkum," alongside columns titled "nonsense, junk, garbage, and frauds." I have actually participated in some of these discussions myself, offering both arguments and perspectives. However, looking at the entire chart, I believe absolutely anyone could find themselves reflected in one of those categories, particularly since our esteemed Carol Lopez$^{23}$ so articulately and objectively places them into specific blocks, presumably because she serves as the ultimate guardian of Truth!

Feel free to ask the authors to take it down.

Kyle Roberts5 said:idiots and their nonsense — in this instance, everyone who fell into one of those categories was branded an idiot, complete with an example of an "idiot" via a link to a very popular blogger's site (one whom I personally do not follow), whereas our friend Carol Lopez$^{23}$ remains safely shielded behind a pseudonym.

No, he was labeled an idiot because what I linked was quite simply idiocy. It is worth noting that he hasn't filed a single complaint against me. Yet, he continues to post in threads that I moderate so vigorously and poorly (http://www.americanforum.com/member.php?u=412445).

If anyone on this forum is being played for a fool, it is certainly me.

Kyle Roberts5 said:This is absolutely disgraceful!!! I’m actually issuing a correction to my initial post regarding this thread; I no longer believe a mere multi-month suspension is sufficient. Given the specific responsibilities he handles on a volunteer basis, combined with his blatant lack of basic etiquette, I am now of the opinion that he deserves a permanent ban from the community!

On a different note, tell me, what exactly was the catalyst that triggered this entire debate for you? 🍿

LOCKED THREAD - WHY? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Daniel Williams16 said:You might have a point there, though I would certainly expect the alternative subforum to be a bit more relaxed than some of those other, let's say, "serious" sections of the site.
Furthermore, when you mention that this specific subject has been chewed over hundreds of times on the alternative board through various threads, it leads me to wonder: why, after all those iterations, does this particular topic need to be shut down so abruptly? It seems to happen just as people are starting to chime in, even if much of that input isn't particularly constructive.
In my view, perhaps the thread could have been granted a window of 24 or 48 hours to see where the conversation might lead; if, by then, it failed to coalesce into something coherent or acceptable, closing it would be perfectly understandable.
As it stands, one might even argue—if they were to hire a top-tier defense attorney—that the thread was essentially the victim of an unjust abortion.🙂
And finally, just because certain topics are revisited frequently doesn't necessarily mean:
1. That every repetition is of the same caliber.
2. That new facts haven't emerged which could make a previously covered topic relevant once again (much like how historical events can trigger entirely new debates regarding past tragedies).
3. That reopening a similar thread isn't an attempt to view the matter from a slightly different angle, which, in my opinion, warrants at least a chance to see if an interesting discussion might blossom.
If none of these observations or reflections cast any doubt upon the correctness of your decision to lock the thread, then I simply apologize for my own misconception—an error that, after all, can happen to anyone, can it not (perhaps even to the moderators themselves😉)?

You are correct in stating that the alternative section isn't defined by overly rigid restrictions, yet certain standards must still be upheld. It is expected that everyone takes a moment to check whether a suitable existing thread already exists.

Additionally, as you noted, the engagement wasn't constructive, which serves as all the more reason to close it; discussions of that nature have historically been the bane of this subforum, a trend I sincerely hope we can move past.😉

Regarding points 1, 2, and 3: the entire purpose of reviving older topics is precisely to provide newer, more current, or more comprehensive content. This allows a reader to follow the evolution of thoughts and perspectives as a thread "ages."
As for your interests, you will find plenty of material regarding C. Alimentarius and vaccinations in the existing archives.

Should anyone else wish to participate, the thread can simply be appended to an existing one. I won't be reopening this particular one.
LOCKED THREAD - WHY? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Daniel Williams16 said:Why was the thread regarding the FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE
locked over on the alternative subforum?
It seemed perfectly fine for about twelve hours while things were quiet, but the moment actual discussion kicked off, a moderator jumped on a suggestion and shut the whole thing down immediately—quite a curious turn of events!
Does this mean certain users hold more weight than others here, where a single request can trigger an instant executive action from the staff?
I wasn't aware that some members held a status even more commanding than our moderators.
I would very much appreciate a formal explanation for this behavior!!!

Given that the subject matter involves population decline, vaccination mandates, and the global elites driving these agendas (based on the links you provided), I felt the topic had already been thoroughly exhausted through hundreds of different discussions on the alternative PDF. Therefore, I believed it was time to close the chapter.
The user in question simply voiced my own intention.

We aren't glued to this forum twenty-four hours a day, and I certainly needed a moment to review the links to understand your perspective.
Inconsistency in Feedback & Suggestions ·
neonskipper79 said:Keith Gonzalez began deleting posts in the Alternative/Osama thread that were technically off-topic, citing that very reason, yet somehow failed to see that this specific comment should have met the same criteria. One might wonder about the consistency of our moderation standards here. If we are strictly enforcing the "no off-topic content" rule, then this particular post should have been the first one removed, much like the others that followed. I kindly request that this be deleted to maintain the integrity of the discussion topic.

That is certainly possible. Another user can simply file a report.

I am somewhat uncertain if I have wandered into the correct corner of the forum to ask this, but I was wondering how frequently a member is permitted to change their profile avatar?🤷

Regarding the process for starting a new thread, what exactly should one enter into that specific input field labeled-

separate tags using a comma

you may add 5 tags to this thread.

You may change it as often as you desire; however, please consider that your digital identity on this platform is closely tied to your avatar, much like how a regular at a local diner is recognized by their signature hat. As long as the imagery remains respectful and avoids offensive content, there is no restriction.

As for the tags, they serve as keywords intended to help users search for specific topics, though in my experience, they don't seem to provide an overwhelming amount of practical utility.

Where did the "Zet printer" thread move to? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Kevin Hall51 said:Hello there!
Yesterday, I decided to initiate a new discussion thread titled "Zet printer" within the "Student and scholar corner" section of our forum, yet I discovered that it has been relocated from its intended home; now, the entry simply states:

Moved: Zet printer
Sarah Stewart3

It appears that whenever I attempt to click on this specific thread, I am met with an error message stating that I lack the necessary access permissions. I have already conducted an extensive search throughout the forum and even attempted to locate the discussion via Google, yet my efforts have proven fruitless. This leads me to believe that the content hasn't simply been moved to a different section of the site, as I certainly would have stumbled upon it by now. Furthermore, I haven't received any official correspondence from a moderator regarding such a restriction, which leaves me somewhat puzzled as to why this is occurring.
Does anyone happen to have any insight regarding this matter? 😕 🤷

My sleeping arrangements are quite subpar.
To be perfectly honest, I was quite unaware that the local transit authority actually issues official apologies when the streetcars run behind schedule; though, if I am being candid, the whole gesture still feels somewhat disingenuous to me. 🤷Furthermore, when you write something like, "I need it, but I just can't be bothered to go get it," you inadvertently project an air of flippancy. Because of that lack of professional rigor, I interpreted the entire topic as being somewhat trivial and decided to move it straight to the trash bin.
If the administrators reach a consensus, I believe it would be most appropriate to restore it, provided it is relocated to the designated Washington, D.C. subforum.

Once again, please accept my sincerest apologies.

Question about swollen lymph nodes in Health ·
urbanmarlin8 said:The title might be a bit vague, but I have a rather significant question for you all because something has been weighing heavily on my mind for a while now.
To give you some context, about a week or two ago, I discovered that the lymph nodes in my right groin area had become swollen. Initially, I didn't think much of it, but now I am starting to feel quite anxious because while I can only feel one small node on the left side, I can palpate several distinct ones on the right.
Additionally, I have been experiencing significant night sweats, which cause me to wake up multiple times during the night.
It all began—and please, try not to laugh—when I noticed what appeared to be a small pimple on the skin of my right testicle. Being a rather bright young man, I thought it would be wise to try and squeeze it, though I wasn't particularly successful.
I continued attempting this over the following few days. At one point, I even felt as though the contents of the pimple were being released, yet there was no visible pore on the surface where it could have possibly exited.
Is it plausible that the infection migrated into the interior of the scrotum, leading to some sort of internal complication?
The coincidences seem far too striking to ignore. This issue manifested on my right testicle, and shortly after I spent some time tinkering with it, the swelling in my right groin followed suit.
I should also mention that my sebaceous glands have been quite active lately, so I find myself quickly breaking out in subcutaneous pimples across my face.

I realize this whole situation sounds somewhat bizarre, but if anyone could help alleviate this uncertainty before I head to see my doctor, I would be immensely grateful.

In short, you should definitely make an appointment to have a doctor examine this properly.
Essentially, there is a real possibility that the minor wound—regardless of how invisible it may have seemed on the surface—became infected, allowing bacteria to trigger an immune response, which would explain why your lymph nodes are swollen.

As for the whole copy-paste issue, I truly wouldn't be surprised at all, especially considering the specific seminars I have personally conducted in the past... (do you follow my drift??)😁

Hmm... if you are absolutely certain that it cannot be flagged, then what exactly are we discussing here?? Is there some mechanism where the text is being compared via a browser, or something along those lines?? I might just be talking nonsense!!! But I know firsthand that people run into these issues...!! They practically beg me to just type out the text for them so they don't face any trouble... WTF!!?!?!?! So who is actually the crazy one here???😕

Look...

Suppose someone is hosting a seminar. Fine. They pick a topic and search for it on Google—let's say they find it on Wikipedia. Now, if they simply highlight a section of that text and paste it directly into a Microsoft Word document, the only way to track it down again through Google would be to highlight that exact snippet and plug it back into the search engine.

If the content is copied verbatim, word for word, Google will locate it instantly (it usually pops up as the very first result), allowing you to see the URL and identify the original source immediately. Does that make sense? I am not sure which part of this remains unclear to you.🤷

Try copying a block of text from here and see for yourself.

Just because you personally avoid blatant plagiarism doesn't mean your colleagues aren't cutting corners. It might come as a shock, but people often operate under the naive assumption that they can "get away with it," when in reality, those shortcuts rarely hold up under scrutiny. 😉

Technically speaking, one cannot claim that verbatim text taken straight from the internet—where the specific sequence of letters and numbers remains identical—is somehow "original" or uniquely marked.

It is quite simple to identify plagiarism when the content has been verbatim copied—or simply pasted—directly from an existing website 😂, provided one takes the brief moment to perform a quick Google search.
I am curious, what part of that remains unclear to you?
