btw, I'm hanging out with my brother—older than me, total rocker, grew up on all those classic records. He got hooked on hardcore punk early on and still lives for it, but he’s also big on the stuff before that—old school punk is his main thing, obviously—plus some rock classics and post-punk too. Speaking of which, Theatre of Hate gets way too little credit here; honestly, they’re more forgotten than underrated. They eventually found an audience, though. Given how trendy post-punk is getting again, it blows my mind that nobody mentions them. Westworld is an absolute classic, and hey, Mick Jones produced it.

The other guys recorded in London—they wanted to turn them into some kind of pop guns, even though sound-wise they were actually closer to The Ramones. The second track from The Saints, "Type O Negative." Anyone who actually knows them gets hyped immediately, but they really outdid themselves on this one—it’s killer punk rock with a massive amount of blues feeling. Every single detail is spot on.

So, basically what I'm saying is—they both fall under the hard rock umbrella. One's got that gritty, Southern stomp to it, while the other leans way more into the psychedelic side of things.

Oh yeah, Witchcraft is pretty Swedish. Though I'm not sure what kind of rock you're actually talking about—that term is way too broad.

Nashville Pussy dropped their first record back in the late nineties, but these two are definitely their best work.

Nah, I don't really follow them anymore—but hey, I actually gave a new track a spin on YouTube, and... no comment. Personally, I still think early California HC/punk is some of the best stuff out there, back before everything turned into that slimy pop-punk sound.

Look, I checked the wiki 🙂 and I don't think that's their drummer—I'm a guitarist myself. As for genres, easy call. I dig Black Flag and the Misfits, but once they had Danzig, things just lost that edge. Honestly, even Danzig's stuff doesn't really hit the spot for me anymore.
