Does anyone happen to know if there's a master list somewhere of all the medications covered by Medicare under the basic and supplemental plans?

There are actually a few different ways you can dig up a drug search tool; here is one of the links that should help you out.

We aren't pushing anything on you!
We just offer what’s actually available on the shelves, and honestly, there are very few products out there specifically designed for the urogenital mucosa.

Now that I’ve actually had a moment to sit back and process everything, I’m starting to realize that it isn't even remotely rude to turn down being a godparent—even after you've already said yes—when someone suddenly comes flying at you with gifts like that.
Honestly, it’s a simple pivot; you thank them for the honor and then politely decline. Why on earth shouldn't you?
I would personally walk away from it without feeling a single ounce of guilt, no questions asked.☕

Years ago, I was actually on the shortlist to be a godmother for a coworker (and I ended up being the godmother for the exact same person later on).
We had all these discussions about where the lunch would be held, what everyone should wear, and so on.
In front of everyone, I spoke up and said I wasn't a fan of the whole circus—the way godmothers go overboard with their outfits, parents with their crazy expectations, or even godparents taking out loans just to afford a gift. Plus, there's that weird tradition where the godparents end up footing the bill for the whole lunch.
Go ahead, take a guess.😉
I didn't get picked.😁
It stung at the time, but I ended up buying her a gold ring as a memento of the day, showed up to the church and the lunch, and felt totally fine about it.
To me, the best people are the ones who don't even bother showing up to the ceremony but still give the most generous gifts.

In my case, my goddaughter received an iPhone, which the godmother basically snagged during some discount sale—you know how it goes with those big corporate types who always have the latest tech.
I was against that too, though I have to admit today that the thing is a total beast of a machine.🙂
I found this mucosal disinfectant called Skinsept mucosa—it's listed in Canadian, but I'm hoping you can make sense of it.

It comes in a 500 ml bottle for about $29, so honestly, sticking with Hibiclens is probably still your best bet if you're looking to save some cash.
I don't have any details on that specific disinfectant, but when you pick up your prescription at the pharmacy, you should be able to get a self-catheterization gel. It’s great because it acts as both an anesthetic and an antiseptic at the same time.

Like this one, for example:

Could you give me a bit more detail about everything included in your prescription pickup?

I just realized that Chloraseptic is actually a hand sanitizer; I bet if you look closely at the label, it'll say it isn't meant for mucous membranes.
I think they carry Cepacol here—it's used in OB-GYN clinics too—but I don't have the pricing right in front of me. I can check tomorrow. My only worry is that it might end up being pricier than Hibiclens.

Kudos to everyone dropping massive amounts of cash on this... by all means, keep at it if that's what you want to do.

It’s wild how the church has turned things into a competition—everyone just measuring who gave what and who outdid whom. It’s pretty grim, actually.

Faith and love aren't supposed to be about material stuff. If we keep raising our kids to think this way, we're never going to get it right.

Just ask any of the older folks how things used to be. And I don't mean because people were broke—not everyone was struggling back then—but because they actually understood the point of everything. If a priest can't explain the core meaning behind it all, then what are we even doing?

The church isn't the one driving this. It's actually those parents and godparents who can't get enough of showing off. They want to look important. Plus, kids end up having all these expectations because that's exactly what their parents drilled into them from day one.

Nothing special, just wandered around for a bit. It was pretty crowded out there.
We could barely find a spot to park, let alone a table for lunch. We grabbed some food and then just headed back home.
There was some kind of holiday going on, but I can't quite remember which one.

It’s definitely tidy and charming—little cottages for staying over, a hill view, plenty of greenery...
The restaurant itself is lovely, with a nice terrace and a private little corner, but the food prices 😲were absolutely eye-watering (well, they were back then, I'm not sure about now).
All in all, I don't really have any desire to head back there.
To be honest, most of those "Agritourism" spots just feel kind of unoriginal to me.

Now, this farm near Daruvar was actually fantastic.

If you want a more intimate party, the hosts are always there for you.

We showed up without even calling ahead, and they went out of their way to set up lunch for us. We had a blast out in the hills, just enjoying a party with some live guitar music.

Three weeks ago, they broke out in a facial rash (which has mostly cleared up). Last week, we dealt with vomiting and diarrhea that finally stopped by Wednesday. Today, the vomiting and diarrhea are back.
I went ahead and paid for some private blood work on my own. Here are the results:

If anyone can help me make sense of these numbers.

Thanks in advance

Just a heads-up: an "H" label next to a parameter means high, and an "L" label means low.

From what I can see, the IgE levels are elevated, which could point toward a few different things.

The lymphocyte count looks high, too.

It might be better to move this over to the existing thread about leiomyosarcoma...

We're talking about specific tumor markers here.

I did some digging and found all this info on some American medical sites.

Megan Williams6 said:True, but where can a person even turn when everything costs so much... if it really is a sarcoma, I’ve read that surgical removal is usually the best bet, even if there's a fifty-fifty chance of it coming back. Still, one oncologist is suggesting radiation therapy instead (though I've heard sarcomas aren't particularly sensitive to radiation or chemo?...)

Here’s an article for you, though I’m pretty sure you’ve already done a ton of your own digging.
wearydriver13 said:Not trying to be totally out of left field here, just purely curious—do you happen to know how much these tests would run me at those private labs?

Honestly, I think prices stay pretty much the same across most private labs.
I actually remembered one place that lists their prices for each individual hormone separately right on their site:

And here's another one for you:

I’m not sure how they run things these days, but about two years ago, they really cleaned us out during lunch.
The BBQ was pricey, the desserts were expensive ($8.25), and to top it off, they charged us for meat we didn't even touch.
By the time I noticed the mistake, we were already halfway home.
So, honestly, I have zero desire to go back there.
Even though, I guess, it's on me for not double-checking the bill before handing over my card.
Total lunch for 7 people (not counting the most expensive items on the menu) $500.

Charles Hayes6 said:Here’s my situation:😛We’re a typical, struggling American family—basically living paycheck to paycheck with a mountain of unpaid bills and a bank account that hits zero pretty much every month. The Krizmanikov family is drowning in debt (myself included), yet somehow the kids are always decked out in Adidas, Benetton, and Fossil. Now they're heading into high school, and I guess they'll probably need an iPhone or a laptop to keep up. Honestly, it doesn't even cross my mind to just go out and buy those things for them. I really want to get them a gift, but I need to keep it within a reasonable budget. I guess the real question is... what actually counts as a reasonable price right now?

That’s just how I see it. $333🙂
swiftfalcon43 said:I wasn't really sure where to drop this question, so I figured I'd just put it here:

So, I pay my monthly fees for $27 supplemental coverage. Is there a way to prepay for several months at once, or am I stuck paying month-to-month? Any kind of answer helps—feel free to post it here or just hit me up via PP.

When you're filling out the paperwork to set up your contract, you actually get to pick your preferred payment method right then and there.

Kate Williams68 said:Hey everyone, can someone help me out? What does the abbreviation "ly" actually stand for?
My little one had bloodwork done because they've been running a fever between 100-102°F for three days, then it disappears for a week, and then comes right back. Three days ago, their platelets were at 53, then 51, and yesterday they were around 55. White cell counts were 3.2, then 4.2 to 4.5, and hemoglobin was 113, 109, and 111.
And the ly is 57/65.
Thanks!

Metabolic Syndrome in Health ·
What’s actually the point of getting a metabolic syndrome diagnosis if we just end up treating every individual issue based on the standard medical guidelines anyway?
Is there some specific set of protocols just for metabolic syndrome, or how does it differ from the usual way things are handled?
I totally get that having a bunch of different risk factors stacked up increases the chances of cardiovascular issues.
Also, does anyone know what the ICD code for metabolic syndrome is?

I just hopped back into this thread using Edge—though I usually stick to Chrome these days and only keep Edge around for testing—and it looks like everything is displaying properly now.

It’s true, though, that the layout feels a bit "narrow." It definitely looks different than when I'm browsing threads over on the Health forum.

As far as I know—and hey, I'm no tech wizard—Edge doesn't seem to support those kinds of extensions.

For instance, page 183 on the gardening forum has text that stretches way too wide, while the most recent pages look fine.
But I started digging through some older posts, and having to deal with that weird formatting for several pages straight really threw me off.

The settings were actually set to medium, though your screenshot showed medium-high.
I just tweaked them, so now I'm waiting about half an hour to see if it works.

Okay, it's been thirty minutes and I can edit my posts without having to log back in.
Thanks again!

I've run into one more thing,

on the garden-orchids thread, I can't even read the full text because there's a massive ad hogging most of the screen on both the left and right sides.
Is there any way to get rid of that ad?
Looking through the replies in that thread, it seems like other users are dealing with the exact same headache.

Alright, thanks. Now I just need to figure out my doctor's name... 😁 😁 It’s been a while since I’ve popped in here, and I think my profile settings have changed a few times since I was last around... 😁

It’s actually pretty straightforward. Just give your local Medicare office a call. If you check your insurance card, you can find your member ID number, and once you give them that, they’ll be able to tell you exactly which doctor you're currently registered with. You can even ask them for the clinic's phone number and address while you have them on the line.
