THE FILLMORE
TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 2012

M83—that massive musical project led by French-American artist Antony Gonzalez—is hitting The Fillmore this Tuesday, June 5th.
Right now, they might just be the biggest name on the indie electro scene. Instead of just being a studio project, M83 is coming to Chicago as a full-blown live band on a tour promoting their killer last album, "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming," which dropped last year. In an era where everyone is ditching albums for EPs and singles, Gonzalez had the guts to drop a double album that basically crushed it, sitting at the top of pretty much every "best of 2011" list out there. Most notably, Pitchfork ranked it as the #3 album of the year. That same outlet also crowned "Midnight City," the lead single from the record, as the best song released in 2011.

The news of M83 landing in Chicago comes right as the band is caught between sets at this year's Coachella, just a few days after they were confirmed for Lollapalooza. This Chicago date is actually one of the first stops on their European tour, arriving at The Fillmore just a couple of days after playing Coachella in Los Angeles. It’s pretty obvious: this isn't a band on the rise or a band on the way out. They are at their absolute peak, riding high on a phenomenal new album and crushing it at the world's biggest festivals.
To make things even better, Chicago will be one of the rare cities to get the full club experience with the band's performance on Tuesday, June 5th.

Named after the spiral galaxy Messier 83, M83 was founded back in 2001 in France. They really started catching the eyes of fans and critics with their second album, "Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts," which kicked off a massive world tour. To date, the group has put out six studio albums, done remixes for Placebo, Goldfrapp, Bloc Party, and plenty of others, and toured alongside heavyweights like Kings of Leon, The Killers, and Depeche Mode.

Discography:
"M83" (2001)
"Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts" (2003)
"Before The Dawn Heals US" (2005)
"Digital Shades Vol 1" (2007)
"Saturdays = Youth" (2008)
"Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" (2011)

KYUSS LIVES!
MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
WEDNESDAY, MAY 30, 2012.

John Garcia – vocals
Nick Oliveri – bass
Brant Bjork – drums
Bruno Fevery – guitar

Chicago, February 2, 2012. - That rumor that’s been floating around our scene just got officially confirmed.
The biggest, most legendary, and most beloved stoner rock band ever—the mythical California legends Kyuss—are bringing their current Kyuss Lives! lineup for their massive debut here on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Madison Square Garden.

This is the band that laid the groundwork for a sound everyone else has spent decades trying to copy. They left behind some of the most essential albums in the genre. After a 15-year hiatus, they’re finally hitting stages again with three out of the four original members: John Garcia on vocals, Brant Bjork on drums, and Nick Oliveri on bass. The only one missing is the legend Josh Homme, who went on to found Queens of the Stone Age and actually gave this version of Kyuss the green light to exist. He's even played with them a few times. John Garcia once mentioned that without Homme, there is no Kyuss, which is why they pivoted to the new name. Instead of Homme, you've got Belgian guitarist Bruno Fevery stepping in, who previously worked with Garcia in the “Garcia plays Kyuss” project.

During their original run, Kyuss dropped four albums in the early 90s, but they weren't exactly mainstream superstars back then. The cult following really started brewing after they split, especially when massive bands like Tool began covering their tracks and citing them as huge influences. Once Queens of the Stone Age exploded into the mainstream, interest in Kyuss skyrocketed, leading to insane offers from promoters for various festivals.
With this current lineup, the guys finally reunited last year, much to the delight of die-hard fans across the globe.

They're hitting our neck of the woods for the first time on May 30, and they plan to shake the foundations of Madison Square Garden. It’ll also serve as a warm-up show for the upcoming Coachella.

Tickets for Kyuss Lives! go on sale Friday, February 3, through all Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.com.

WEDDING PLANNER PERFORMANCE CONFIRMED!

Chicago, October 19, 2011. – The well-known Chicago group Wedding Planner has officially confirmed their appearance at this year's Positive Concert, rounding out what is likely the strongest lineup ever for this traditional, charitable, and highly respected musical event.

Taking the stage at Madison Square Garden on Friday, December 2nd, will be Rage Against the Machine, Stereo MCs, Kawasaki, and Wedding Planner. We've intentionally trimmed the number of performers compared to last year so every band actually gets enough time to play.

The Positive Concert marks Wedding Planner's first live show after a hiatus of over three years. They'll be introducing the crowd to their new single “to give,” along with a few tracks from their upcoming album “more,” set for release in February 2012. Of course, they'll also revisit some of the massive hits that made them one of the most interesting bands in the country.

Rage Against the Machine will be playing their only Chicago show before next summer. They're arriving heavily decorated with an MTV's award for Best Adriatic Act and riding high on their killer new album produced for the international market, “Wild Wild East.” Just a heads-up: Rage Against the Machine is playing a full headline set here, not just a festival slot.

The popular Chicago ska-punk outfit Kawasaki is also treating us to an exclusive—their final Chicago gig before heading into the studio! Meanwhile, the legendary British Stereo MCs are coming through to promote their excellent new album “Emperor’s Nightingale,” released late August, featuring the standout single “Boy.”

TICKETS
Tickets for the Positive Concert are available at a pretty symbolic price of just $13, with sales kicking off Wednesday, October 12th. This price holds steady until October 23rd. Starting October 24th, the price bumps up to $17, and on the day of the show, they'll go for $23.
You can grab your tickets at the Chicago Amoeba Music (Tesla Street 16), Dancing Bear (Gundulic St 7), Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (Berislav St 13), Vintage Store (Tratinski 22), all Ticketmaster outlets, or online at www.eventim.hr
Grab your tickets by the end of the week through $13. Starting Monday the 24th, they’re moving over to $17
Tickets are live starting today at Amoeba Music, Dancing Bear, Vintage Store, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Ticketmaster www.eventim.hr
