Just kidding. Seriously though, file that appeal—you’ve got nothing to lose. Even if nothing happens, you'll at least buy yourself some time while the courts drag their feet, which might give you enough room to figure out a plan.

Just try the "I'm a fool" defense like that guy who got caught drunk driving. Just tell the judge you messed up and offer to stand in that parking lot for a few days holding a sign that says: I'm an idiot!!!🤣

What were you guys even doing, waiting in line at the DMV or what? Like, don't they already have his exact speed on record from the moment the crash happened?

If it doesn't go before a judge and they don't actually find him guilty, it never hits any official records.
The cops just keep it on file in case he pulls some other crap later so they have a "history" to look at, but they aren't allowed to leak that info anywhere else. Basically, as far as the rest of the world is concerned, if there’s no charge or conviction, he hasn't broken any laws.
PS. Seriously though, start reporting those absolute creeps for stuff like animal cruelty or whatever! 🙂

So, back on October 7, 2007, the cops pulled me over because a camera a few miles outside of Dužica (on the road from Chicago to Sisak) caught me doing 97 mph in a residential zone. After I refused to accept that the device was wrong at 6.2 miles/h, I got slapped with a ticket for going 54 miles/h over the limit in a residential area, which was $250 plus fees. Anyway, I filed an appeal with the Democratic Party in Sisak since they handle that jurisdiction for the higher misdemeanor court in Sisak. It wasn't until late July this year that I finally got a notice in the mail. I missed the first one because I was away on vacation, and the mailman didn't even leave a yellow slip! He tried again three days later, but still nothing—not surprising, considering he’s just a part-timer who wanders around the outskirts and half the mail goes missing anyway. Since he never left a notice, I wasn't even sure who the notice was from, though my neighbors said he mentioned it was a court summons. So far, I think they were just trying to mail me a summons for the misdemeanor judge. But then today, during a different shift (the first one was Friday morning when nobody's ever home), I got a call telling me to show up at the Democratic Party in Chicago this Wednesday at 12:45 PM. Apparently, I need to go to some specific room to be notified about a violation under Section 53, Paragraph 1 of the US traffic code.
I mean, this makes zero sense, right? Shouldn't I be reporting to a misdemeanor judge, especially since this is an old law violation? And if I have to report to a police station, shouldn't it be the Sisak station since they actually have jurisdiction over this?
Basically, does anyone have any clue what's going on here?

Basically, it just means you don't get a warning anymore (it used to be a two-year window under the old laws), so now they just slap you with the fine automatically. Other than that, there’s nothing else to see.

Alright, I was just messing around with the Apa thing, but I couldn't think of any other Indian American names on the spot. Still, everything else in the post? I've seen it myself, it's true. American Jews have been acting pretty foolish lately, and honestly, they're being outnumbered by Indian Americans and groups like that.

You can't exactly use the logic that "I didn't put anyone in danger, so I'm not at fault." That’s a slippery slope. You could drive around with a 0.10 blood alcohol content or blow through a red light and claim nothing bad actually happened, but that's not how it works. If a street is one-way, it's one-way, period.
Man, you really messed this one up, and that's that. Besides, if it truly was only 10 or 20 feet, why not just back up? Why go through the trouble of pulling a full U-turn and driving the wrong way in the first place???!!!

If you were drinking, that collision coverage is basically useless. They're probably stalling on mentioning the DUI so the rental shop owner can come after you for the damages later.

If you paid through your bank, I’m pretty sure you can just request a receipt after the fact.

Even if Saint Peter himself stepped in to help you, it wouldn't matter. You're labeled a hardcore repeat offender, so honestly, do you really think any judge is going to go easy on you?
