I’d post a photo of my coffee here, but I suppose that would just make me look like I'm trying too hard.
Well, I was actually at the sportsbook by 7:00, and I didn't even get home until after I finished posting this. Not even K. Martin? Great. Let's just dump everything into those 1.15 odds, the spreads, and all that other nonsense. A-ha.🙄 : bettingontherealwinnerjustinoklahomacity:
Buzko finally woke up; honestly, watching this with some popcorn is much better. Rose—only 3 left to go, but in Canada, people would’ve already taken the over. 😉 Instead of betting the over on Charlotte and Nate Robinson, I decided to go against the grain. Sweeet.
Here's Rose at 13 points, taking it steady. The halftime plan is officially checked off, and we still have plenty of game left to play. Carlos Boozer is absolutely shined today, though I suppose that shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone.
Since Rubio is out, I suspect the Timberwolves' offense won't be quite as efficient, and they might struggle to hit that 97.5 mark. Plus, Phoenix has been looking a bit sharper lately.
My pick: Minnesota under 97.5
Man, that's a great pick. How did I miss this one?! Total oversight on my part. Thanks.
@Terry Myers45/">@@Terry Myers45 Regarding the Bulls vs Knicks game, if I were actually planning to put money down, I wouldn't give the Bulls much thought at all.
@Arthur Hill2/">@@Arthur Hill2 His limit is set at 17.5 for today, so I guess I'll just grab some popcorn and watch from the sidelines.
edit: With the Wall under, that's two wins in the bag. Looking for two more.
I managed to land a single parlay yesterday, went through without any issues. Not quite a full ticket, though; after two games went under the total, I decided to pivot to LA vs GSW.🙂 Today, Phoenix looks pretty solid to me. They tend to play exceptionally well at home against weaker teams and usually walk away with the win. Minnesota seems a bit lost right now, so... For the rest of the board, I’d probably lean toward Wall under, given he's playing on the road and the margin at the sportsbook is 19.5. 😁 Also, the total for Charlotte vs New Orleans doesn't look easy to clear either (184.5). Both sides really need to find their rhythm and start scoring again (even if that goes against the whole "when it's working, don't change it" theory). Generally speaking, I've noticed that most of the point totals this week seem to be leaning toward the over rather than the under. Just sitting here with my pen ready—where are you guys leaning today? 🤷
Nicholas Chase34 said:Coach Mark Jackson mentioned that Stephen Curry might have actually suited up for Saturday's game, given that he was dealing with nothing more than a mild right ankle sprain. I guess we'll just have to see if Jackson's expectations for Curry hold up. To play. on Sunday. 🤷
Go to hell, play. 😂 On a slightly more serious note, I’m a firm believer in the "keep going while it works" philosophy—you don't just stop mid-stream because you feel like it. I'm talking about Al Jamison here, so my pen is still moving and the transcription continues.
I’ve gone through the odds, and I have to say, I'm not exactly thrilled with what I see. I did find one potential play—Cleveland vs Houston over 195. Looking at the recent stretch, the Rockets are averaging about 102 points per game, while Cleveland is sitting at 97. They both give up a fair amount of points too; Houston allows 97 and Cleveland allows 98 over the course of the season. Hehe, so that’s how they landed on this margin. It looks like they might have miscalculated just a bit.😁 By the way, stormyseal9, thanks for the info on Monta. As for Jordan Smith, I'm against everyone on that; it seems like a decent idea, but I have my doubts.
Sometimes an overtime period actually does you a favor. I remember one time I had the Deron over, and he was just half a basket away from hitting it. In overtime, he didn't even take a shot.😂
I just noticed on the previous page that Danny Granger was considered the "safest" bet. That’s a shame. It looks like a lot of tickets were losers. Only Joshua Gonzalez33 is still standing. I’m still holding onto hope, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.
Brooklyn Nets steal the lead from Houston in the final minute😂
Phoenix woke up... give me a break! Just as I tuned into the broadcast.
Edit: The public will probably survive the bet; a 4-point gap isn't nothing, though these guys couldn't score a thing during a very promising offensive stretch when they were down by 2.
I agree with those projections for Yannick Cherenfant 😉, they look pretty solid. I’m not exactly a fan of his, though I doubt he’d care much for me either. Got the snacks ready, ESPN is on TV, and we're heading out to cheer before Boozer starts. I was reading something up and missed the first quarter for Detroit, I have to admit. I opened nba.com with a bit of dread since this week has been rough for me, but this 37-14 start actually looks great for my parlay 😁
edit: shifted to 3-3 on shots, one guy at the line, but two buckets off some messy loose balls—doesn't matter, this still hits.
edit2: It's 4-4 now, 8 points at the end of the first, honestly can't ask for more. Rose isn't feeling it and is forcing too many plays.
edit3: Actually 4-5, no idea where I got that from. 🤷 I probably just miscounted.
We all agree on Boozer, though we should probably mention his history with Utah. 🙂
Honestly, ever since I first saw him play, I just haven't been able to trust the guy. It’s hard to explain, but he just doesn't... click with me. He played poorly on Thursday—really poorly.
Actually, I was looking up how he performed against Utah last year, but I couldn't find it. Regardless, 14.5 seems way too low, and honestly, I'm glad it stays that way.😁
I grabbed them at 1.7; actually, I think I just copied someone else who pointed out that Lopez isn't playing either. There are a few other Williams players on the roster, but they aren't quite on that level. When you're fighting for positioning in the West, you have to take these. Regardless of how they're playing right now, this feels like one of those locks. It has to 🙄, I suppose.😁 These kinds of public bets usually slide through perfectly, but good luck to us.
Generally, I try to avoid betting on non-playoff teams, but I think the Detroit Pistons look like a solid play against the Toronto Raptors today. The odds might be a little too generous, but I took it. They managed to beat both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Atlanta Hawks in their last two games—both close ones—so where could the poor Raptors go? In my opinion, the momentum is definitely with Detroit, and you should ride teams like that while they're 🤷 moving.
I also put money on the Memphis Grizzlies, even though the under on the total points looks like a safer bet. The Phoenix Suns seem to trend toward the under most of the time, or at least they did a few days ago, and Harrison's defense is practically sacred. Usually, these "suspicious" picks at 1.8 odds tend to clear easily without much trouble.
Carlos Boozer played great against the Orlando Magic; he really racked up some numbers alongside Dwight Howard (especially since Joakim Noah is in terrible shape lately). 14.5 feels like an absolute steal.
Anyway, that's my slip for today. I might just end up listening to some old country music tonight instead.
