Why wasn't I notified about this—as the one who actually started the thread—in the first place?
Question No. 2
What does the future of human nutrition actually look like on this forum? We’re talking about what our kids and grandkids will be eating down the line... and I really think we need to have a serious conversation about it, rather than just treating it like some joke...
First death from monkeypox confirmed in Europe: Case numbers climbing globally
The WHO declared monkeypox a global health emergency this past Saturday.
According to the official statement from the organization, about 98 percent of cases recorded so far have been among men who have sex with men—though they noted this specific statistic doesn't apply to certain African nations where the virus is already considered endemic...
WHO Director Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has advised that particular group to consider limiting their number of sexual partners and to be transparent by sharing contact info with any new partners.
it all feels a bit too much like a repeat of COVID... ☕
The United States of America has officially confirmed the first instances of mpox among children, according to an announcement from health officials this past Friday.
A pretty intense report coming out of New York City regarding monkeypox—it’s enough to set off alarms globally. People are scrambling to find treatments, and infectious disease specialists are making it clear: this isn't some minor bug you can just sleep off.
I have a feeling people might be underestimating how serious this epidemic actually is... 🍿
The World Health Organization is calling an emergency meeting this Friday to tackle the rise of mpox—that viral infection mostly seen in West and Central Africa—now that we've seen over 100 confirmed or suspected cases pop up across Europe.
It’s essentially a viral infection that’s traditionally been centered in parts of Africa... somewhat similar to smallpox, though there's a key distinction. Smallpox spreads strictly from person to person, which is why massive vaccination efforts managed to wipe it out back in the eighties. With mpox, however, the virus has animal hosts to jump back to, so it isn't something we can just eradicate through human vaccination alone
So far, the cases have primarily affected men, with most instances appearing to stem from sexual contact between men.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted that among the twenty identified cases, the majority involve gay and bisexual men.
In Portugal, for instance, all fourteen reported cases were traced back to sexual health clinics, specifically involving gay and bisexual men between the ages of 20 and 40.
Meanwhile, health officials in Spain reported 23 new cases on Friday—mostly concentrated in Madrid—which seem to be linked to an adult sauna.
So, I decided to start a thread today—something along the lines of, "How long until the media starts labeling this national team as nationalist?"
Then I come back just now to see how things are shaking out...
And what does the forum say?
Moved: How long until the media starts labeling this national team as nationalist?
I try to find where they moved it to, and all I get is...
Gerald Rivera17, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I’ve never heard anyone declare a "laughter epidemic" before—it's a strange way to put it... though I did catch someone on the radio the other day talking about a "stress epidemic," even if nobody actually officially declared one.
As long as you all stay trapped inside those narrow little bubbles of yours, you aren't going to see much further than the tip of your own finger.
I mean, it’s just... it's everywhere lately—the media is constantly buzzing about everything from the flu to cancer—so I figured we could have a little discussion
then I came back to check out the replies, only to find the thread locked 🙏
Why though?
If the reason is that last post by the mod, it isn't even right—any medical professional would tell you the same thing...

you're welcome 😳
William Bennett53 said:An outburst like that would get flagged here on the Forum, but since it's a public figure—who aren't really protected anyway... But, if it helps at all, the Politics mods are actually having an active debate regarding the criteria for protecting public figures versus protecting free speech. And while we don't penalize stuff like this just yet, things might shift. If they do, it’ll apply to everyone in the public and political sphere equally. Until then, we aren't making any special exceptions for the President.
Look, this is what gets under my skin about how things work here... why focus on who the target is instead of just looking at the behavior itself, regardless of who is being mentioned on this Forum?
For instance, earlier today I reported a post—can't even remember which thread anymore—where some user was calling someone a pig. It didn't matter to me who they were aiming at; it's against the rules here, whether that person is on the left or the right...
And the whole "what defines a public figure" thing? Politicians, sure, then actors, judges, athletes, TV personalities, doctors, lawyers... even firefighters and emergency responders. Are we really going to lump them all into one category?
Also, what does "which isn't really the case" even mean? You either have established Forum rules or you don't... there shouldn't be double standards. Because if we can call the President of our Beautiful America a Liar, then why can't we do the same to a completely anonymous user I've never heard of?
Jose Carter2 said:Using derogatory nicknames for politicians—like calling Kamala Harris "Kermit" or "Piggy," for instance—is what we're talking about here.
The post in question is a legitimate opinion that a user should be allowed to express on this Forum.
Saying that someone is
"A Liar and a corrupt thief—Graber K. was elected to be the President of the USA."
...without providing any actual evidence to back it up... well, that runs counter to the moderators' stance that political claims like this need to be factually substantiated.
If you can't prove it, it isn't a truth—it's just an insult, not an opinion.
So, maybe you guys could coordinate a bit better...
I’ve already flagged this post twice using the report button
I suppose I'll just leave the proof right here that I'm following the rules
Just to clear things up for anyone confused—the first one involves insults directed at a politician, while the second shows a moderator stating that "slurs against politicians" are subject to sanctions...
Really, I'm just trying to help out the mods—they have way too much on their plates to catch everything immediately, and it's been a few days now without any movement... nothing at all.
I’m asking Klonka here—how exactly is that claim being backed up by facts?
Usually, when one of us puts something out there, people demand receipts—links, evidence, you know the drill—so I think it’s only fair we hold the mods to that same standard too...
And if we aren't going to be all pedantic about "facts," then let's look at this—we actually have the most recent court ruling regarding the aforementioned point. And it states:
"homosexuality is not described as a perversion, but rather it is noted that homosexual acts are disordered, contrary to natural law, and under no circumstances can they be approved; they do not choose their sexual state—for most, it represents a temptation, which is why they should be accepted with respect, compassion, and consideration, while avoiding any sign of unjust discrimination towards them".
So far, not a single post I’ve flagged using the report button has actually resulted in any kind of disciplinary action—not even a simple courtesy reply or some feedback to let me know it was seen. I figured I’d start a thread about this specific post just to see if I can get an actual response out of anyone here...
Because at the end of the day, we’re talking about a moderator...
The mod in question is going around calling two distinguished academics—professors, PhDs, members of the National Academy of Sciences, basically—nothing but "vampires," all because they don't align with his personal views...
If any regular user on this board said stuff like that, they’d be banned before they could blink. It makes me wonder—do the mods actually have to follow the rules too? Or are they above them?...
Unfortunately, when it comes to politics, there’s just no point in trying to have a real conversation anymore—not with the way party hacks behave, nor with how stubborn certain users can be, or even how the mods handle things... it’s all become a bit futile.
So, I only really drop by those threads to post something that backs up my own take on things, and honestly, that’s about it.
I don't bother reading the replies, and I certainly don't spend hours hovering over a single topic.
That’s why you guys are here—the mods. You’re the ones who have to watch everything, stay on guard, constantly update stuff, and sometimes even make up rules on the fly just because that's what the owner wants.
It’s a narrow view, though... it doesn't really account for the full spectrum of situations you all find yourselves stuck in.
I’m not sure if you’re actually on a payroll or not, but let’s just say the boss thinks pretty highly of you—you’re sitting at number eight on his list.
