Man... imagine what people would have said if he hadn't grabbed fourth... say, if it had been third instead...

Ronald Sullivan24 said:I was watching a FOX promo just yesterday... they had this segment where Joško claims he learned how to ski in just two weeks—and they played it over and over like it was some massive breaking news headline. So Joško hits back, saying he picked up skiing in a mere fortnight... and now I’m watching the actual news report, and out of the whole thing, maybe two minutes are dedicated to him. Most of it is just Joško repeating that two-week claim. It really just comes down to how they framed his "learning to ski" in that specific context... the teaser was one thing, but the actual footage felt totally different, full of these little edited snippets... honestly, you can't trust much when it comes to the media,
Meanwhile, PBS spent five straight minutes droning on about Ivica, acting like everything else was a failure. They'll nitpick—saying he was a few seconds short here, or a few seconds late there—always finding something to critique, and they did it for five full minutes.
And one more thing... they conveniently forgot to mention that Ivica Kostelić receives a scholarship despite earning millions...

He seems to be perpetually angry at someone or other... and somehow, he always ends up being the one left out in the cold... 🙄
analoggull4 said:Vlašić—well, nothing was ever quite right with him to begin with, so I suppose it’s hardly surprising he’s just talking nonsense now... as usual.
Is it actually possible to just tell the truth... without everyone immediately jumping down your throat?
And why are you dragging gips into all of this... he basically branded himself that way—it wasn't like Vlašić was actually taking aim at him, he was going after the Democratic Party...

Nothing flagged so far. Maybe next time 🤷
But now I’ve got one moderator saying everything is fine, while another decides it isn't and hands me a ban... 😕
What's the actual criteria here? One says yes, the other says no... 🤷
rowdyhawk10 said:That is a malicious falsehood and a total fabrication. The Jews left the sub-forum because of their own internal conflicts—specifically a nasty disagreement with a user named unknown—and actually, many people including myself have been calling for them to return. We’ve reached out through private messages and publicly quite often, much like here. Personally, I would certainly love to see them come back; even though we had some heated debates in the past, people mature and ought to forgive one another... if only for the sake of peace and better understanding, let alone mutual love and coexistence, which is what God calls all believers to practice. I actually stay in touch with some of them via phone. I especially think my dear friend unknown is a wonderful person. So, your claim simply doesn't hold water. 👎
I would appreciate it if one of them would step forward and debunk these insinuations of yours. 😢
When people leave the forum, it's a failure on the part of the moderators to maintain order within their sub-forum.
Because if you had done your jobs effectively, these conflicts wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Whenever I get hit with something like that, I just pour myself a tiny little shot—maybe a quarter ounce—of that herbal liqueur, you know, the one in the round dark bottle with the red cross on it... and after a few hours, I'm usually good to go. 🙂

I wasn't saying whether I like Italians or not—all I'm saying is I don't like fascists, whether they're Italian, American, Mexican, or any other kind...
And you also know full well those Allied planes were acting on orders from the resistance...
Daniel Turner7 said:Alright, so here’s the deal: I’m living in St. Louis, and I’m trying to figure out what’s actually worth checking out in the surrounding area. You know, stuff that isn't just boring—maybe some hiking trails, or visiting a cool historic estate or something... I think you guys get what I'm getting at...
I’ve got a few ideas floating around for Valentine's Day, so I want to see how this would all play out. I need to pin down exactly where I can go and what there is to see...
I was thinking about hitting up a specific spot, and if the weather decides to cooperate, maybe grab some food for a picnic or something along those lines. So, hit me with your best suggestions. Thanks! 😬
Head over to Great Falls and hike up to that old ruined castle—the nature there is great, plus there's a lodge if you need to rest. Or maybe hit Albuquerque, down by the river confluence. Honestly, Savannah & Charleston have that old-school charm too.
Don't overthink the specifics, just go and experience it... it'll be way more interesting that way. 😉
Sergei Cosmi said:just play our usual defensive setup... let the midfield control the tempo—as long as we protect the center backs, the holding mids, and our two strikers, we're fine. just leave the big defender out there alone at the edge of the box, why bother with anything else? 😁
If I were calling the shots, I’d actually give things a shot—I mean, why not? 🙂 if it works, great... if it doesn't, well, we missed a few practices, it's not like the world is ending 🙂
Honestly, if a coach can't figure out how to use an extra body near the penalty area, then you've got a problem with the coaching... and probably the players too.
Roger Allen3 said:you could really sell that idea—it would only need to work once, because then every team coming up against you would be braced for it...🙂
Yeah? And how exactly does that work? By having fewer guys standing in the wall?
So, what's the deal?
There are a handful of players out there who might finally find the back of the net after fifteen or twenty tries. And then what? 🙄
Is that really how the team strategy is going to work—just praying one of those guys actually scores once every five games? 😕
Gregory Walker15 said:Every single extra touch just increases the odds of you messing up—you lose the ball, they pick it up, and suddenly it’s a fast break against you...
Yeah, you could probably drill that to perfection if you had a solid squad to work with, and it might actually pay off—it really just comes down to whether the time spent practicing it is worth the actual payoff...
Exactly. It’s like how teams spend endless hours drilling free throws; they should probably be doing the same for corner kicks. Having that extra man in the box just creates a much better look at the goal.
It would be pretty interesting to dig into some stats on set pieces... I have a feeling fewer than 5% of free kicks actually turn into goals.
btw not every team has access to Google
Whenever we get a free kick, it usually drives me nuts seeing three or four players hovering right by the ball—one guy positioning it, another whispering instructions in his ear... 🙄
Then you’ve got the opposing team playing games with their wall, shifting it forward or back just to mess with the rhythm, while they try to wedge their guys into the line... 🙄
So, everything is set for the strike. I look up, and there are typically three to five guys standing in that live wall, which means the defense is actually shorthanded—it gives the other team enough bodies to commit to an attack, basically matching whatever number the striker has in that wall.
They could easily create a numbers advantage if they decide to go for a cross instead of just hammering it at the net.
But most of the time, they just take the shot and hope for the best. 😕
And let's be honest, most of those goals end up coming from crosses anyway...
... regarding Severina's tour. Neither side really wanted her—one group for one reason, the other for another. And then we act surprised when the social dynamics of the diaspora don't perfectly mirror what's happening back home... 😉
"The Vancouver promoter and Severina should pay with their lives for this performance"
AFTER Severina called off her American tour due to lackluster ticket sales—and allegedly following bomb threats at her upcoming venues—the head of ARX International, the agency responsible for booking stars from the former Yugoslavia across the US and Canada, Miloš M. sat down with the American newspaper Objectiv to explain what actually happened and how Severina's trip to America even came to be in the first place.
"The whole project was kicked off by my friend Zana Jovanovic through a contact of hers from Split who is close with Severina and her management. I was brought in to handle things alongside them, specifically managing local organizer contacts and digital marketing. ARX International was supposed to provide Severina and her crew with the credibility and peace of mind that this would be handled with total professionalism" — said Miloš M.
He also confirmed that Severina's shows were boycotted by American media outlets and certain American communities in those cities; they refused to run ads on their radio stations, and some Americans wouldn't even let concert posters be put up in their shops.
"This applies to Los Angeles, Vancouver, and to an extent, Chicago, New York City, and Toronto. I can't claim there's a boycott of the entire American community, though—I don't think the people working at those media outlets have that much sway over everyone, nor is the entire community in those cities a monolithically negative group." — added the head of ARX International.
"I should also mention the boycott from the Mexican radio station in Los Angeles, which refused to air an ad simply because Severina is an American. The American media didn't pull back because of me—I'm hardly that famous, and none of them know me personally—but rather because 'they heard Mexicans were running the tour.'" — believes Miloš M.
When asked if there were truly bomb threats, Miloš M. noted that the promoter in Vancouver received several threatening calls, claiming a bomb would be thrown into the venue and that both the promoter and Severina would pay with their lives if she showed up in Vancouver.
"There’s a police report on file, and I assume that after the rough start in Atlanta, that was the main reason Severina decided to scrap the whole tour." — said Miloš M., concluding:
"We just didn't expect that our typical North American primitivism—no matter how hard someone tries to run away from the North America—would escalate to the point where people are willing to threaten someone's safety, or even their life, just because they belong to a different nation or faith."

I swung by a few bars in one of those countries that actually passed that indoor smoking ban... they were packed, the vibe was incredible, top-tier music—and instead of people fighting over whether they could smoke, I didn't see a single smartphone sitting on the tables either 😁
pure bliss
Well, why didn't you just stay there? 🙂
nimblestag31 said:man...
that comparison doesn't really hold water
🙂
Sure, but look—the whole point is that over the last few decades of the 21st century, everyone just went nuts with smoking, and nobody gives a damn about exhaust fumes... meanwhile, the greenhouse effect—you know, the Kyoto stuff—and the disappearing plankton—I think I saw a segment on it on some news channel once—that's only talked about sporadically, and honestly, that’s way more serious than smoking. In the long run, anyway... 🙂

And both of them pad the government's pockets, too... 😉
