Matthew Anderson4 said:Out of those three you mentioned, Pulp Fiction is the only real must-see—and even then, only if you haven't seen Reservoir Dogs yet. You could throw in Forrest Gump or Memento. Good flicks, sure, but nobody actually *needs* to watch them. Honestly, it’s such a facepalm when someone calls themselves a cinephile but hasn't even touched Kurosawa, Tarkovsky, Bergman, or Godard. For anyone who actually loves movies, those are the real essentials.

So true, I actually rewatched Seven Samurai just a few months ago...

You wouldn't think it, but Iranian cinema produces some absolutely stunning, visually gorgeous films too...

And the Swedish directors aren't bad either...

It's actually pretty good, I caught it yesterday...

Keith Miller30 said:I just finished watching Kingsman: The Secret Service, and I have to say, it’s a fantastic film; the acting is top-notch, and I was particularly impressed by how they choreographed the fight sequences. It is definitely worth your time if you haven't seen it yet.

Later today, I'm planning to sit down with Exodus: Gods and Kings, though I noticed its rating on IMDb isn't exactly glowing.

Kingsman 👍

It’s because Americans always seem to be the ones dealing with the biggest mess, whether we're watching superhero blockbusters like Avengers or getting caught up in conflicts over in places like Syria, Libya, or Iraq... it feels like we're always right in the middle of the chaos, usually with some allies helping us stir the pot too

Just more Russians sitting there with their arms crossed. 🤦

The theory is the Americans are showing the locals who’s really in charge, especially since they agreed to let that Russian pipeline run through the territory

I didn't even realize there was a thread titled "Men who use professional services"...🤣

if Neymar's dad spoke American, he could probably join the conversation too...

To be honest, Sid actually sent me a DM asking me to return; apparently, his skin was getting a bit too soft again, and if you want to survive reading his posts, you really need a thick enough hide to act as armor.

It’s not like I’m blaming you for being the first one here, but you have to slowly get used to the local vibe and everyone obsessing over those questionable coaching calls against the underdog teams.

Man, we all really missed you.

And he even managed to squeeze through the back door of Reddit instead of heading straight to hell...🙂)

Time to warm up a bit, everything is good—welcome home... 👍

Zachary Nguyen2 said:So, you're saying Sin City 2 isn't any good?
The first one was great in my opinion.

I watched the first part twice, but I couldn't even finish the second one after thirty minutes. Honestly, casting Gordon Lewitt in a movie like this—he just doesn't have the charisma...

And Josh Brolin isn't exactly a perfect replacement for Owen either...

The cast is much weaker, the plot is messy... they really botched the sequel I'd been waiting for so long...

Robin Fox2 said:Watching Braveheart or 300... hmm...

As for 300, those Scots proved they were nothing more than cowards, so there’s really no point in revisiting that film...☕

I'd much rather you read Gates of Fire by Pressfield, preferably in English.

I'm just not feeling this Frank Miller comic adaptation, and honestly, they completely messed up Sin City 2 too...

If we start talking about raising bulls, you guys from VB16 would probably find a way to bring up Ronald too. It seems like such a struggle for you all...🍿>

I was just scrolling through some random site and saw a claim that Cassano once bragged about sleeping with over 600 women. What a total maniac... you wouldn't even guess it from looking at his face or knowing about his heart issues 🙏

Farrell was great in Tigerland, too—a bit older, sure, but still a solid movie. I think this could be a really good pick, especially if they nail the characters and dialogue just like they did the first time...

Dogs are basically like Republican voters... No matter what you put them through, they'll still adore you by the end of the day.

That’s why we have domestic dogs and cats—they exist for us.

And you still don't get why you're dismissing the sense of smell.

Same goes for living with a dog, except somehow people actually know how to handle them.
If training a dog requires authority, then raising a child is just as much about discipline.

Dogs can actually bond emotionally with their owners. Cats just act out of pure self-interest.
Choosing who I want by my side isn't a hard decision.

I love all animals, both dogs and cats, and I used to have a dog myself. But I think you're making one mistake that a lot of people make, assuming dogs are more loyal and emotional. When it comes to intelligence, I think they're pretty much on par, it's just that dogs are way easier to train.

The loyalty and the ease of training come from a simple fact: cats aren't pack animals like dogs are. Because of that, they struggle with hierarchy and tend to be more independent. Dogs are social creatures for that exact reason, which leads to warmer interactions with both humans and other dogs.

But that doesn't mean cats don't have feelings either; I've seen plenty of cat owners who are incredibly attached to them. It’s just a different kind of bond—one that doesn't happen constantly or just because you want it to, but only when both sides feel like it🙂). I think there's a certain beauty in that, having someone show affection selectively rather than just blindly. Much like people...🙂
