But you totally
😍

You're being super selective with what you read, which is pretty unusual! 🥱
If you don't follow these rules, you'll be hit with the following fines:
If you don't send in five news stories a day, you'll be fined $17.
If you don't send in a daily report, you'll be fined $33.
If you don't send in two headline-worthy topics a week, you'll be fined $250.
If you don't send in a restaurant review once a week, you'll be fined $83.
If you don't send in a feature story, you'll be fined $100.
If you don't send in at least two reports on overnight events, you'll be fined $100.
If you don't send in a report from the downtown rush every Saturday by 3 PM, you'll be fined $133.

It seems like you're still missing the point. It’s not the same thing as demanding a journalist churn out five stories a day while telling them they can't mention Bandić.

Anyway, enjoy your opinion, it's yours after all...

I hope Keith Miller30 isn't taking issue with Dežulović just because he isn't considered "statesmanlike" enough. Personally, I can't say I always agree with his takes, but he really is a high-quality and occasionally hilarious columnist... I also find reading Raspudić interesting, even if it's a bit tough to take someone seriously who used to be a fashion advisor for a celebrity cat

In the Jutarnji list, you'll occasionally see some great pieces from Pofuk and Kustić, but for me, Ratko Bošković is still the standout among them all

Noah Carter24 said:Haha, hey, nobody’s stopping you! But let’s be real for a second—it’s pretty obvious that some people on this forum are playing favorites and using totally different sets of rules depending on who they're talking about. Honestly, it’s the exact same story with the mainstream media; everyone just dances to whatever tune the big bosses decide to play.

Is it... Matija Babić Karamarkov Is Karamarko really that kind of guy?

It’s not that I always agree with him, and I definitely don't want to defend him, but you're comparing apples to oranges here. You're grouping him up with an editor at the New York Post being banned from publishing news about Karamarkov working for the UDBA...

brightpilot6 said:EPH should technically lean slightly toward the left, or at least that’s what the new owner claimed; however, it functions primarily as a PR playground available to anyone if the boss isn't using it first. Personally, I found the endless praise heaped upon Mamić and Bandić during that first Sunday after the takeover absolutely nauseating. I haven't bought a single EPH publication since then.

By the way, when I caught the cover of the new Globus, I nearly lost my lunch:

You can probably imagine exactly what kind of article it turned out to be.

Why even be surprised? The guy owning Magazin and EPH is Hanžeković, the same one who landed all those debt collection contracts for the city of Chicago and the Holding, and even paid the bail to get Miki out of jail. Of course they're going to run stories like this...

Just add Miki+Mamić+GOP=Dinamo to the equation and there you have it...

At this point, it's enough to make you physically ill...

brightpilot6 said:Of course, I find myself reading Raspudić out of curiosity too, and honestly, I’d probably pick up that mythical conservative daily as well if it actually offered any real quality.

It isn't that Jutarnji is anything special in terms of depth, but there simply isn't much competition left, and there are maybe two or three other outlets worth a glance.

@ James Anderson5

In my opinion, Večernji stays relatively balanced, but then again, if even a single "commie" gets involved, people immediately write off the whole publication as leftist propaganda.

I already mentioned that Večernji leans a bit toward the soft right, but I still check out their portal because they actually have some solid columnists. Plus, it's obvious from an airplane view that they favor the GOP, though that's hardly a surprise when you know all the stories regarding privatization back in the 90s...

But honestly, talking about any kind of "right wing" in America feels a bit silly when you realize about 100,000 former communists ended up right there after the war—with 70% shifting over after the elections according to an American research paper. The rest moved over to the DNC, so really, the country is just being run by two sides of the same old oligarchy. One side is slightly more idealistic, while the other is much more crooked...

brightpilot6 said:What I find most amusing, though, is seeing comments like Smrdežulović's, where the right-wing crowd whines about how America lacks a daily newspaper with a conservative, Christian Democratic slant. They act as if there’s this massive, urgent demand for one.

Well, if they're so desperate, someone should just go ahead and start one; then we can see if those "massive crowds" actually bother to buy it.

Personally, I don't pick up the Daily News or anything from Glas Koncil, because I have zero interest in filtering my news through such a narrow worldview. Honestly, who would ever want to read Smrdežulović's nonsense, and more importantly, who on earth is forcing anyone to?

Since you say it doesn't exist, we still have American Weekly and even a softer version in Večernji. At least when it comes to print media...

And now we even have Dujmović in Slobodna...

Not to mention, if Hanžeković owns both Jutarnji and EPH, then we can't even call Jutarnji left-wing anymore—it's more like quasi-left. If it was ever truly left-wing, considering how close Pavić was with Dr. Ivo...

And some people here are out here rooting for guys jacked up on hormones, but let's not get off track.

What even is this?

You’d have to ask the VB16 crew about that, but I’m pretty damn sure my diet is way more balanced than yours, yeah? And I guarantee I eat way more veggies.
It’s honestly hilarious that you actually feel the need to defend yourself by saying you eat vegetables.🤦

You think it's "more" balanced rather than just balanced? And what makes you think you're eating more greens than me—do you have a crystal ball or something? 🤣

But seriously, I know how to enjoy some meat or even some greasy burgers now and then, but generally, I try really hard to cut back on meat because most of it isn't great for you (unless, like I said, it's from a local farm where you actually know the source). Plus, I don't think it's right to raise animals in those massive industrial farms where they're pumped full of hormones and antibiotics, living in tiny spaces without ever seeing sunlight or grass. On top of that, they often serve us old meat or frozen seafood that was caught years ago.
That's why if I'm having eggs, for example, I make sure they're either farm-fresh or free-range.

It's almost impossible to eat perfectly healthy these days since most food is loaded with junk—everything from sugar to additives and way too much salt—but you can certainly try to do better.

Peter Thompson4 said:Give me a break with that vegan nonsense. Look, I agree with parts of what you wrote, but you completely lost me (and frankly pissed me off) with that stupid hemp talk. Animal protein and plant protein will never be the same thing. I’d rather live until 60 eating meat than live to 100 on plants. I don't need that crap; screw a meal without meat.

And another thing, you're talking about steroids like you actually know what they are, but you clearly haven't a clue. So stop trying to start a conversation about something you know nothing about.

Are you on something? I didn't even mention steroids. It looks like the hormones from all that meat are already hitting you—you're making typos and struggling to even read the screen...

Actually, now I'm curious about something else, purely for scientific reasons—how many of you in VB16 follow a diet mostly consisting of imported meat? Maybe we can find the common thread connecting you all...
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
The whole debate about meat isn't just an ethical thing; it's a massive health issue too. I've heard from people working at the border several times that imported meat often arrives looking green or blue, and they have to inject it just to make it look normal by the time it hits the grocery store shelves. If you don't believe me, feel free to look into it... And don't even get me started on how those poor chickens are pumped full of hormones and antibiotics, which we then end up consuming ourselves.

Some people here actually seem to root for meat that's loaded with hormones, but I won't stray too far from the main point

It also makes you wonder if raising this much livestock is even justifiable, considering it's one of the primary drivers behind the depletion of the ozone layer.

Plant-based alternatives are honestly much healthier, unless you're getting meat from a trusted, local farm. For instance, hemp protein has all the necessary amino acids, and I think spirulina is great too.

And let's be real, nobody can honestly claim that animals don't have feelings and suffer—whether it's cows, dogs, cats, or pigs... though I guess we're still figuring out the insect side of things

You could just as easily say: kill an idiot and go to prison, yeah right... 🤣

A living being is a living being, and if we start tolerating cruelty toward animals, we're just one step away from tolerating it toward people...
