Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Looking back at it now, almost any setup would get the job done since it isn't exactly a powerhouse configuration. My Microsoft system has served me well for three years and is still going strong. A friend of mine mentioned he's been using his Microsoft gear for several years too, so I think I'll just head over to a local electronics store and pick something up.

What kind of power supply would you recommend? My PC is a bit older and isn't exactly a powerhouse.
I have an Intel Pentium G2030 running at 3GHz.
Memory: 4GB.
GPU: Radeon HD 7700 1GB, if I recall correctly.
I might eventually pick up another 4GB stick of RAM just to get my total up to 8GB.

I'm running a Microsoft 400W or 450W power supply. It doesn't feel particularly reliable since it's three years old now. I actually heard some chirping coming from it recently, though it stopped after I posted about it here.

I’d probably swap it out for something decent that won't break the bank. Just enough to keep this rig running smoothly until I finally pull the trigger on a new build—which isn't exactly in my immediate plans.😁
I was wondering what my cortisol levels should ideally look like after an overnight dexamethasone suppression test? I took a 1mg tablet at 11:00 PM last night and had my blood drawn this morning.
My result came back at 28... is that considered normal?
Actually, without the suppression test, my level was 1000 in the morning, but they told me that was likely a false reading, so they sent me for this overnight test instead.
Maria Fisher46 said:I wouldn't worry about just a slightly elevated CRP. Honestly, if there aren't other symptoms, I wouldn't even bother checking it again in a month. I still think there's a pretty good chance you just had a mild case of mononucleosis.

Have you checked your liver enzymes lately?

Okay, thanks for the reply. I haven't rechecked the liver enzymes, so I'll make sure to mention that next time. Best regards.

I had my blood drawn because my blood pressure and heart rate were high, though they are steady now.
I had an abdominal ultrasound, a renal artery Doppler, and hepatitis markers done, all of which came back normal..
My heart ultrasound showed a tiny bit of leakage in one valve, so I was sent for further imaging.
I should mention I've been under constant stress for about 2-3 weeks since my blood pressure spiked.. I'm constantly obsessing over it, having panic attacks, etc..

Now those leukocytes and lymphocytes are bothering me..

Just posting the follow-up CBC results here..
Previously the issues were: leukocytes 13, lymphocytes 12, reactive lymphocytes 12

Yesterday's results: leukocytes: 10.3, lymphocytes: 29, no reactive lymphocytes.
The only thing elevated is CRP-7.5

Nicholas Myers, you suggested I do a mono test the first time.. however, my blood work has returned to normal.. My doctor said there might still be some inflammation due to the CRP, but since the blood count improved, she didn't want to send me for more tests yet and just told me to come back in a month to recheck the CRP...
Otherwise, I don't have any symptoms, except for a slight cough.

Should I be worried about the CRP or not?
Morgan Morgan5 said:I'm glad Nicholas Myers joined the conversation since my own knowledge is pretty limited. Reading blood work isn't really my field. However, it's worth noting that certain results can shift due to different diets, intense physical activity, and things like that. I wonder if your doctor gave you a full clinical exam? Are you dealing with extra weight or anything else? As for those cortisol levels, I didn't even notice them 🐔
I mean, I'm no expert, but I should point out that looking at lab results in a vacuum without context—like being on a restrictive diet or working out hard just hours before the draw—isn't ideal. Various lifestyle factors can definitely sway blood work
Also, try to keep your old records (say, from a year or two ago) so you can compare them to the new ones. That's how I handle my own health tracking. Wishing everyone great health, and sending my best to Dr. Felix 🙂

Thanks for the input. I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow, so I'll see what she thinks. Hopefully, she'll at least give me a referral to get my blood drawn again to start things off.
Maria Fisher46 said:Then he certainly ordered the right thing for you. 👍

Could you just tell me, since I'm not actually showing any mono symptoms, if this could just be some common virus?
because whenever I search Google, all I get are results about leukemia due to elevated Lymphocytes.🙄
Maria Fisher46 said:Atypical lymphocytes (over 10%) and a liver lesion... Could this be infectious mononucleosis? Should they test for EBV and CMV?
I had the exact same thought, but I don't have any symptoms of an actual illness. When I had my blood drawn, the only thing I had was a stuffy nose and a bit of a cough; now, I feel perfectly fine with no symptoms at all. My primary care physician completely brushed off the CBC results, saying it was just some random virus, and she wouldn't even write me a referral to get my blood retested.

You should definitely get that cortisol level checked again. It's possible you'll need an endocrinology workup (testing ACTH, a dexamethasone suppression test, etc.). An ultrasound of the adrenal glands isn't enough to rule out subtle pathology.

My nephrologist scheduled me for another round. They want to check cortisol and a few other hormones produced by that gland—I can't recall them all right now—via blood and urine tests, plus a CT scan of the adrenal glands.
Morgan Morgan5 said:Did you check your ESR or CRP levels? Your liver enzymes are pretty high, which might suggest medication use or heavy alcohol consumption. You also have elevated white blood cell counts. It looks like there's some inflammation going on, so it could actually be a bacterial infection rather than viral.
As a dentist, I can tell you this, but someone with more experience in general practice would probably give you a much better explanation.🤔

By the way, it doesn't look like an acute emergency, but if I were you—especially if you drink—I'd cut it out completely.

My primary care doctor didn't seem interested in my blood work at all... she just brushed it off.🙄 I'll head back in about two weeks for another test... just to see if things have improved.

Regarding the alcohol, I don't drink much except for the occasional drink, though I did have two beers last night, so I'm not sure if that played a role. As for meds, I take something for blood pressure and occasionally Advil.
Also, I have some dental issues; I deal with tooth infections every few months. There's a specific spot that flares up periodically, though it's quiet right now. I wonder if that could be affecting my blood counts.

My doctor told me based on the CBC that it's likely just some kind of virus. She wouldn't even give me a referral for a retest; she just said to check back in a month if I develop any other symptoms.
I should have mentioned that my nose feels constantly stuffed up, and I occasionally get this sensation of drainage in my throat.

I had my blood drawn because I was experiencing high blood pressure and a rapid heart rate, though those have stabilized now.
I have already completed an abdominal ultrasound, a CT scan of the renal arteries, and hepatitis screening, all of which came back normal.

Is a blood calcium level of 2.56 dangerous? My results show the upper limit is 2.53.

How to remove a second audio track from a movie? in IT Support ·
I’m not sure if this will be useful, but I usually watch movies using BS Player. Sometimes I’ll run into a film that has both English and German audio tracks available...
In those cases, I just hop into the audio settings and swap the language from German to English.

If his settings allow System Restore to use something like 100GB, it’ll just keep filling up and emptying constantly. If you cap it at 10GB instead, it won't exceed that limit. Just look up what System Restore actually does on Google.

Is the computer perhaps in sleep mode?
I haven't heard of anyone's PC just turning itself on if it’s actually powered down completely.

Maybe someone who knows more about this can provide a better answer.
It’s likely a system restore issue... this topic has come up a few times before. I actually ran into this exact same problem myself and eventually realized that was the culprit.
