With very few exceptions, the permit wasn't just handed to the individual who persistently lobbied for it. I suggest you judge for yourselves whether this measure is actually effective, logical, or even legally sound.
One day, we will look back and realize how someone managed to line their own pockets behind the scenes while seeing absolutely zero actual improvement in public health outcomes.

I honestly don't understand all this whining; we’ve refreshed the roster and we're heading to the Olympics, so frankly, what more could anyone possibly ask for?

But in all seriousness, looking specifically at today's performance rather than speaking in broad generalities, the players themselves deserve some pointed criticism. The primary offensive threats for both Paris Saint-Germain and Kiel seem to be completely avoiding the ball, leaving Karačić to carry the entire weight of the game on his shoulders alone.🤦

To was a complete disaster, honestly, but I suspect it will be swept under the rug in the usual fashion. People tend to lose interest because we simply lack that critical mass of public outrage—the kind you see in sports, though even then, it’s relatively minor—to actually spark meaningful change. The machine will just keep grinding along, perfectly lubricated and indifferent to our frustration. I truly don't understand why anyone would believe that figures like Goluža or Gobac are dependent on these outcomes. The party isn't going to cut them loose, nor will they ever abandon the party; they are positioned exactly where they need to be, acting as loyal soldiers who will simply march forward regardless of the fallout.👍

I have to say, I was genuinely impressed by this latest press release; I found myself reading the whole thing in one single sitting. It is strikingly clear that they are operating on an entirely different level compared to the opposition.👍

My thoughts and full support go out to our wounded boys.

My thought process was more about what happens once the dust settles and the police, paramedics, and everyone else have finished their work. Just imagine someone who is absolutely desperate to get somewhere for a critical reason, only to find themselves an hour or more behind schedule because of a situation like this.🤷

Let those guys fight among themselves all they want, but if there is any truth to these vultures in the media claiming that an innocent bystander was caught in the crossfire—and if it’s true that traffic has been ground to a halt because of this—then we are looking at a genuine catastrophe. No matter how you slice it, there is absolutely no excuse for such a situation.

Daniel Johnson46 said:Just look at this... a criminal complaint. Give me a break, haha! This person clearly just hates America. That writer over at Newsweek should be putting a picture of the President over the map of the States instead of focusing on such ridiculous nonsense.

One simply needs to retain a competent attorney, and I believe all of this can eventually be resolved through the proper legal channels.

Naturally, these various narratives regarding arson or the exorbitant cost of the stadium seats seem somewhat absurd; however, for days leading up to this, there were constant warnings issued to people to be cautious about their actions and the potential consequences. One shouldn't be surprised when someone ends up in a mess; it was very clearly understood what certain lowlifes were capable of doing.

Furthermore, there is all this talk about things being set on fire halfway through the game, or whenever it happened, claiming the Ultras had already exited the stadium. In reality, a few seats were set ablaze right at the very beginning. To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about Mamić's chairs; the entire stadium is practically a tinderbox anyway.

But I will reiterate my point: every single individual was publicly cautioned to exercise restraint. As for those who chose to ignore that and proceed with lighting things, hoping for a different outcome, I cannot begin to fathom what was going through their minds.

And what can we truly expect now? After everything that went smoothly on Sunday and Wednesday—the exits were handled perfectly, no one was harassed, and not a single person faced any undue scrutiny—we are seeing this horror unfold where innocent people end up behind bars. This little arson incident actually serves them a disservice, as it provides fuel for the inevitable narrative that hooligans are out fighting in the streets and burning down grandstands again.

It really could have been avoided entirely.

I’ve been trying to make sense of this footage, but what is actually going on with those white hoods? Furthermore, regarding the segment at the 6:40 mark—where was that filmed, and what was the context behind it?

It looks like some KKK figures making jokes about the Kansas City Chiefs, standing over people in military fatigues positioned behind a rather bizarre flag (is that a marijuana leaf?). It is a truly surreal image.

And what is your theory—do you truly believe they were so vastly superior to us that they simply tore through our group stage, providing us with the necessary data to conduct a deep, exhaustive analysis of their playstyle just so we could somehow hold our own in the finals, where—whoops—we ended up winning? The shock of the century? Yeah, right. 🙄

There is no need to reply to that specific point.

What I am genuinely curious about is how those who insisted we should have beaten the Spaniards "fairly and honorably" feel now about that gold medal we secured back in Atlanta.

I have already posed this question, yet silence remains the only response; everyone seems to be keeping quiet and choosing to ignore it.

🙏
d2267 As I was reflecting on this matter earlier today, I found myself thinking about how often we overlook the nuances of such discussions. It strikes me that when someone says:
When one considers the current state of affairs within the domestic handball landscape—specifically our rather lackluster league structure—one could argue that merely securing a bronze medal constitutes a significant achievement. However, it is difficult to remain entirely satisfied when we examine how we actually reached that podium. We managed to clinch a spot among the top three relying on an attack led by someone like unknown, operating under a single playmaker, all while navigating the tactical decisions of a coach who remains a deeply polarizing figure in the sport.I find myself wondering about the nature of the others. 🤷

It seems to me that we are witnessing a gradual decline in sheer, raw talent as the years go by. While effort remains a constant, there is an undeniable sense that the natural brilliance we once saw has begun to thin out, leaving us with players who perhaps work harder but lack that certain spark of genius.🤷
analogmarlin44 said:Following the matchup against Denmark: Everything just seemed to turn against us. 🤦
The goal was simply to reach the quarterfinals, which suggests they might not even fully grasp the true potential held by this roster.🤦

That is an excellent point. 🤣

Between the usual complaints regarding officiating, the string of injuries—I suspect Lacković likely volunteered himself for the injury list despite having just undergone surgery, while Duvnjak and the rest probably just happened to be sidelined until the semifinals by pure coincidence—and my personal favorite excuse, "we're just a young team," there isn't much left to say.
Susan Miller79 said:Kljajić, is that you? Why don't you walk us through your grand vision for how we reach the championship?

I honestly couldn't say, though I suspect even Goluža doesn't have the answer to that question.🙂 It’s worth remembering, however, that only one of us two actually holds the position of head coach for the national team.
Goluzin has a knack for delivering bronze medals like almost nobody else.☕

Even the owner has been making absolute statements about this tournament, if not about this entire decade of sports. He actually said, ''Someone up there is watching and will reward us.''

🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

Apparently, some bearded gentleman sitting high above in a celestial chair has nothing better to do than watch the live stream of Goluzin’s performance, just waiting for the perfect moment to reward our supposed integrity and honesty.

It is such a repulsive display of American egoism—this desperate need to impose the idea that we somehow deserve a handout, combined with a chronic lack of common sense, tactical wit, and basic humility.

Congratulations, Goluzin; you truly are one of the biggest morons in the sporting world. A bronze-medal moron, indeed—and I suppose that heavenly reward has finally arrived.🙏

Charles Peterson5 said:Did you catch the USA vs. France match?

It seems everyone in this thread is convinced that we don't stand a chance against the French, which means you all would likely make the exact same claim even if we were playing in the championship game itself.

Your collective foresight is truly nothing short of legendary.

Are you actually aware that dropping a few games during the group stage is practically par for the course for a team like France?

Dennis Davis8 said:You are being incredibly difficult, honestly! You’re so fixated on how the French might blow us out of the water and ensure America doesn't even make the finals... Do you actually know a single American player who has been accused of match-fixing? How about a Frenchman? It isn't all about the gold medal; there is such a thing as integrity!

Congratulations to the boys; they play with the kind of honest, proud American spirit that doesn't need to overthink things. We're going all the way—you guys are the best! 👋

What a display of sick American egoism and pure pathos. "Keep Calm and Carry On" for the sake of integrity, except when it comes to those few "honest and brilliant" Americans. But really, there isn't anyone.☕

And yes, the French will run circles around us; I read the exact same posts back during the Olympics and, guess what? They just toyed with us.

Which teams did they beat against Germany, and which ones lost to Tunisia—who, by the way, was...

To be fair, the French team has an incredible track record; they've never actually dropped an insignificant group stage match at a major tournament before now.🤣

Instead of opting for a more favorable draw, they chose the harder path. An athlete should always strive for excellence, aiming for medals and championship titles, yet it seems we essentially sabotaged our own chances on that front. image

The squad is absolutely exhausted and battered right before facing the top-tier teams. image

A genuine opportunity to give the younger players experience in a high-stakes match has been squandered. Dealing with a team like Spain playing on their home turf—what else could you expect? This is what passes for "systematic youth development" these days. image

In the minds of certain self-proclaimed moralists and armchair patriots, this has created a narrative where our current players are hailed as "honest competitors," while anyone who ever tried to play strategically is met with scorn. It’s a classic American trait, really—such massive egos and such an intense preoccupation with one's own image. 🙏 Add to that a sense of false confidence heading into the matchup against the French, as if some people haven't learned any lessons yet. image

Since we won't be seeing the finals, and likely won't see a medal either, the stage is being set for those ridiculous excuses about "focusing on the youth" for the upcoming Olympics, implying expectations were low to begin with. And as for Vori, how much did he even play yesterday? More than 40 minutes? 🤣 image

casualfox112 said:Personally, I’m one of those people who only tunes into handball when the national team is playing, and frankly, I don't have much interest in dissecting complex tactics. I haven't seen any evidence suggesting anyone intentionally threw the game—though, perhaps, that's simply something beyond my perception. All I can say is that I am genuinely pleased we secured the win and finished at the top of our group. It really is about time we finally took down the French side (should we face them later on). I truly don't understand why everyone seems so disappointed by a victory, especially when people are already writing us off for fifth or sixth place. 🙂

The Americans are going to absolutely steamroll us, plain and simple. All this hype and false sense of confidence is honestly laughable; it feels just as unrealistic as the last few million times we've been in this exact same position.

Raising an empty hand in the air after that goal when they let their opponent run solo down the line for the second time—honestly, the players on the field weren't any better behaved.

At this point, even Forrest Gump looks like Einstein compared to this level of stupidity... I swear, for the first time in my life, I actually felt embarrassed to be an American!🙈

But no, they’re geniuses, clearly.🤣
