gentlepuma20 said:honestly, even that stuff is garbage—I mean, it’s not quite up to Diane's level, but it's pretty rough, yeah. 🙂
...deep dive, deep plunge... whatever... just listen to any Joy Division bootleg and you'll realize they were basically terrible live... or do you prefer Paul Young's cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart better???....😲
gentlepuma20 said:...man, they totally butchered Diana's sound 🤮 they just don't get how to mix it, seriously 🙂
...yeah, I'm well aware of how that track was mixed in the studio, but I was talking about the live version they played last year... now that Martin McCarrick isn't touring with them, you don't have to worry about anyone suffocating you with too many layers...😁
...you should definitely check out their last two albums. Ever since they went back to playing as a trio, the sound on the records feels way more "gritty," even if they aren't churning out as many radio hits as they did on that one massive crossover record...

do they even have anything left besides that Traveling Wilburys vibe and that one terrible cover where they messed up the glasswork? 😬
...they always throw Diane from Husker Du into the setlist, and last year at this one festival they played a pretty hardcore version... grab a beer, listen to that cover, and you're golden...😉
...hmmm, hmmm, how is it that nobody is even bringing up the main organizer behind this whole (non)event?!...anyone wanna guess who I'm talking about? I'll give a ZAMP calendar and a Metallica ticket to whoever gets it right...😬
...man, I’ve caught them live three times now—hit up shows in Denver, Austin, and Seattle—and let me tell you, they are absolutely unbeatable on stage. It's a total bummer that Martin McCarrick isn't playing with them anymore, though. Seriously, if you ever get the chance to see them, grab it. And when they aren't busy killing it on stage? Those guys are the best crew to hang out with if you just want to shoot the breeze and grab a few beers...😁 ...anyway, if you want to read some deep dives on the shows I went to, you can find reviews over on some of those big American music webzines...
...just sitting here waiting on that genius Pygmalion and his little Nettlica trash heap to chime in with their "expert" takes on Nick Cave's songwriting. Honestly, I'm just waiting for Pygmalion to draft up some formal protest letter to Cave, demanding he stop taking photos of him altogether.

...really hoping your old man remembers to pack the diapers... they’ll probably have a dedicated diaper station set up right there in the Mayo Clinic...
Chloe Morris12 said:Ugh, I am so ready. Oh, wait—that Beethoven venue, I’ve actually never been. Is it like, super fancy or what? Like, do I need to break out the heels and a dress or can I just chill?
...nah, just dress like you're reading tips from those old teen magazines you used to obsess over...😬
Prudence said:Do you listen to any American bands? Got any recs?... a friend had this one crazy American band on CD once and I gotta track her down so she can burn me a copy!🙂
...that American group is actually Peter Solowka's outfit—he used to play guitar for The Wedding Present... honestly, it's a killer mix of pure rock energy blended with that local American vibe and language... they're pretty well known for doing covers of The Smiths, Kraftwerk, Sex Pistols, Velvet Underground, and Prince... but man, their original stuff is way better... The Wedding Present even dabbled in that American sound back in the day with their "American Sessions for John Peel" mini-album...
...June 16th and 17th, 2005. Nick Cave, Martin P. Casey, Warren Ellis, and Jim Sclavunos playing at the Hollywood Bowl... tickets were like 850 bucks total...
...man, screw dates and my terrible memory, Nine Inch Nails was playing in Chicago on the 14th...😠
