...wait, which concert though?...

Since I had zero clue what it was, I just scribbled down a few lyrics, tossed them into Google, and turns out it's "Ocean Spray" by Nirvana.
The funny thing is, I've never even heard of this band before. I absolutely loved the track, though—just loved the whole vibe. It kind of reminded me of "Lemon Tree," if you know what I mean.
Anyone here actually listen to them? And is everything they do like this?
Anyway, I'm gonna go ahead and download a few more of their tracks to see what else they've got. 🙂
...in that case, you should definitely grab their "forever delayed" greatest hits album...
...I actually had the chance to meet them once...minus Richey, obviously...and apparently, they hadn't seen him for quite a while...😁

Honestly, their show left such a vague impression on me (was it the arena back in 1990 or 1991?) that I can't even really wrap my head around it anymore... 😁 Back then, Hugh Cornwell was still in the lineup.
Walking on the beaches, looking at the peaches... 😈
...the gig actually went down on May 22, 1990, and the lineup featured Hugh Cornwell, J.J. Burnel, Dave Greenfield, Jet Black, and John Ellis, plus a brass section (Chris Lawrence, Richard Sidwell, and Alex Gifford)...
...I was just spinning that live recording the other day, and man, I'd give anything to just teleport back to that moment...😁
banderas said:I never actually listened to them when they had the original lineup, but I’ve checked out this version and honestly? Boring as hell. They started their show with maybe 7,000 people in attendance, but by the end, there were barely 1,000 left standing.
...7,000 people at an SC movie theater?...give me a break...does every single concert involving Vanja Primorac need to have the turnout inflated by three times...like some kind of "rock on rock" nonsense...plus, I’m genuinely curious how on earth that many people would even fit in that venue...maybe if they were all cremated...
...back in 1990, the original lineup played for about 5,000 people in a small hall at the arena...just putting that out there...

Sure, both groups had those grating vocals and were pretty rough on the ears, but at least the Jam fans didn't have to deal with those weird space-invader keyboard sounds, and their songs were just better overall. 😛
np Black Flag - Loos Nut
...the Jam didn't have the space-invader keys, but man, they sure had faces... especially Paul Weller looking like Mr. Spock's twin brother...😁 😁
...compared to that pussy band called the Jam, I've always been more into Gang of Four, Magazine, XTC, or Wire... and obviously, The Rolling Stones too...
Kevin Chavez3 said:I caught them at Rock on Rock last year, and honestly? Total flop. They sounded just like The Ramones.🙄 😁
...🤣 😵 🙂 ...you really think putting some guy like Goran Bakić in as the new frontman would work...😁 😁
...but man, just imagine that idiot Bakić posting about The Rolling Stones canceling their set right before they were supposed to hit the stage:
..."Look, The Rolling Stones didn't show up. Stuff happens in this world, but hey, at least we still have the festival..."
...man, screw him and those other festival organizers sucking up to the sponsors...
...one of my all-time favorite bands...and when I say that, I’m talking about that era with the original frontman, Hugh Cornwell...
...it’s honestly tough to pick their best album, since every single one feels like its own distinct chapter or a total shift in their sound and lyrics...though most punk and new wave fans tend to lean toward the stuff before "La Folie," specifically that hit "Golden Brown" (which hit #2 on the charts but never quite snagged #1 because the media was too busy hyping up The Jam back then, kinda like how everyone obsesses over Oasis today)...but, if I had to actually commit to a personal favorite, I’d probably go with that conceptual album they did between those two periods, "The Gospel According to the Meninblack"...
...alongside the standard albums by The Police, I think it’d be a crime to ignore Hugh Cornwell’s solo work like "Nosferatu" and J.J. Burnel’s "Euroman Cometh" from '79, or even Cornwell’s "Wolf" and Burnel’s "Un Jour Parfait" from '87...
...I actually caught them live twice, once with Cornwell and once with the new singer Paul Roberts...look, the original lineup was perfection, obviously, but I wouldn't be as harsh on the new setup. I mean, you still have 2/3 of the original "strangler" crew in there, which is enough to keep an old fan like me satisfied musically...
from the so-called "local" scene: Peking Duck; Haustor
as for those "outsiders": Joy Division; The Stranglers
...so I wake up one morning, stumble out onto the balcony... still feeling pretty buzzed from the night before, you know? I take a look at the first stake in the yard, and there’s Ivana Kindl’s head impaled right on top. mmm, such a refreshing view compared to the little display I’ve got going in my guest room—you know, those mummified remains of Boris Novković and Peter Graše posed in doggy style... right next to the stake with Kindl's skull, the embers from the bonfire were still glowing, giving off this lovely aroma of Severina’s collagen and silicone... honestly, seeing that multi-purpose guillotine with the shredded bits of Daniela, Tonči, and Vjekoslava Huljić just put a massive grin on my face. But then, total letdown with the new packaging and the quality of the quicklime; I noticed Paola Valić was still totally recognizable by that vacant, cow-like stare of hers... my pet lizard, Mishko, was wandering around her corpse, with little Mate's legs sticking out of his mouth... then the phone rings... it's my old pal Dr. Lecter... says that certain Jacques Houdek guy ended up being a bit too fatty after all...
