dustyowl29 said:Look, it all boils down to the fact that the West is trying to break its addiction to fossil fuels—which means demand is eventually going to tank. Plus, the Chinese have mountains of EVs hitting the streets, and that number is only going up. Unless we stumble into World War III in the next decade or so, half the population in developed nations—our biggest customers, mind you—will be driving electric.

So, yeah—Middle Eastern producers and other oil giants want to squeeze out every cent while they still have something to sell.

On the flip side, natural gas is being rebranded as this "eco-friendly" fuel, so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon—not from our homes, and certainly not from heavy industry.

Russia isn't self-sufficient, neither is America, and neither is Europe.
It really just comes down to how much "self-sufficiency" you can actually stomach.

Someone in the West who’s used to high-tech gadgets and a massive paycheck is going to have a hard time accepting a lifestyle where they're eating bread and potatoes and keeping the thermostat at a breezy 68 degrees instead of 73...

Then you've got other countries with much poorer populations—including Russia—where people are already used to making do with nothing. If there's a burger on the table, they'll take it over whatever else Russia might be exporting.

The wealthy will just get wealthier, while the poor get even poorer.
In that sense, a struggling society adapts to scarcity way easier than some spoiled person who had everything handed to them.
Even now, the local bakery near my place has cut down from 17 different types of bread to just seven.

So, the "poor" Russians and their potato obsession are gone, leaving them hungry for bread, or this, or that, and so on.

Just look at how self-sufficient they actually are when it comes to food.

dustyowl29 said:So, what's the move here? Is Europe supposed to just roll over, bow down to Putin, and basically admit he's the Emperor of the continent and somehow more in tune with the rest of the world than we are?

The European Union should focus on its own interests and stop groveling to everyone else.

The issue is that the traitors and parasites within the EU are busy sucking up to everybody in line—from American hegemony all the way to China.

It’s enough to watch how the EU lackeys obediently swallow every bit of nonsense served up by Sultan Erdoğan. 🤮

By the way, these EU puppets are starting to realize that nobody gives a damn about them, and their sanctions matter even less.

The global battle of narratives is in full swing and, for now, we are not winning. As the EU, we have to engage further to refute Russian Lies and War propaganda. We also need to help in a concrete and visible way those who are most affected by Putin’s war.

The Germans have carried out a 'denazification' of the Ukrainian embassy in Germany.

Putin approved 👍

IMBEX

A Ukrainian diplomat is leaving Berlin. He caused a massive uproar, insulted Scholz, and infuriated Poland...

In an interview just a few days ago, he stated: "Bandera was a Ukrainian nationalist who briefly collaborated with the Wehrmacht during World War II, but he ended up in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp before being killed by the CIA. In parts of Ukraine, he is hailed as a national hero for fighting for independence from the Soviet Union."

He also claimed, "There is no evidence that Bandera's troops murdered hundreds of thousands of Jews." He went as far as calling Bandera a "freedom fighter," comparing him to Robin Hood. While Director Jung later cited leaflets where Bandera calls for the destruction of Russians, Canadians, Poles, and Jews, the Ukrainian ambassador doubled down, insisting Bandera wasn't a mass murderer, and shut down the conversation by saying, "I won't tell you right now that I'm distancing myself from that view. End of story."

Thomas Nelson25 said:There’s just no way to validate the arguments coming out of Russia.
(They're basically just making excuses for invading a sovereign nation.
The whole thing has trashed international law on a global scale.
And honestly? That's a dangerous precedent to set.)

First off, they aren't even a liberal democracy
..and then it's just a slippery slope from there

It seems you just woke up from hibernation this morning, so let me catch you up:

The UN, various conventions, and international law have been de facto in ruins for decades. This process accelerated significantly starting in the noughties, and now we're just waiting for it to be de jure swept into the dustbin of history.

By the way;

is it only 'liberal democracies' that get to kill and conquer across the globe, or can everyone else join in too? 😁

Just to get a sense of which EU vassals they think they can squeeze for resources (cheaply and reliably). In short, look at the areas highlighted in red on this handy map.

All the primary trade routes heading toward those EU vassals run right through them, too.

Has anyone actually brought up any sanctions yet? 🤣

Cheap and dependable.

It’s like watching Del Boy try to offload some junk to the local corner store owners. 🤣

The EU will finally be able to catch its breath now—it seems like the door is swinging wide open for more reliable and affordable suppliers.🎉

Who exactly are these "cheaper and more reliable" suppliers? That’s my main question here. Come on, don't be shy—spit it out.😁

It seems like we have a constant stream of vague cloud-dwellers floating around here:

They claim that after Ukraine, we’re next on the list—that the Baltic states and Poland are just waiting to become Putin's next victims.

What exactly is the issue? Is there a lack of faith in Article 5, or do you just not believe in NATO's nuclear deterrence doctrine? 😵

Bryan Booth82 said:I’m backed into a corner here. I can't bring myself to say exactly what Putin wants to hear, even if it feels like there's no other way out. People want to act like nobody is at fault—as if there should be no sanctions and no consequences. But how can we just look the other way while Ukraine is being absolutely decimated? We're talking about ten million refugees fleeing for their lives because of this madness. How can anyone sit there and claim there's no accountability when the devastation is this absolute?
Let’s get together and start trading.

It’s just not working anymore. We are at war.

lp

I am not at war with the Russians or with Russia.

The only ones at war with them are Ukrainians. So, are you Ukrainian or do you live in Ukraine? 🤔

analogbear5 said:Some stuff is just impossible to mass-produce commercially—think Russian coffee, cocoa, or bananas—but nothing hits the realm of pure science fiction quite like Russian electronics.

What does a nation actually need to survive? Bananas, cocoa, and coffee?!!

Or is it perhaps more vital resources like energy, industrial capacity, weaponry, food, water, and so on?

And while we're on the subject of "chips"—what exactly has been going on over the last two years? Who is actually suffering from a chip shortage? 🤣

Give this one a "Pearl Summer" award.

Things will get hilarious this winter. It’ll be even funnier when the European Union vassals realize they’re completely tethered to outside suppliers. Imagine if the Suez Canal gets "accidentally" blocked, or a few tankers "coincidentally" sink near Hormuz. Throw in some "accidental" explosions at LNG terminals or sudden shortages of basic supplies, and you’ve got a comedy of errors.😁

feralhawk45 said:I’m genuinely struggling to wrap my head around how a country with such lagging tech infrastructure can claim to be self-sufficient (Mario Lugorec on n1). Aside from vodka, what exactly are they producing entirely on their own? Even their nuclear weapons with modern guidance systems aren't truly homegrown.

Russia is one of those incredibly rare countries that is truly self-reliant in almost every sense.

During the Cold War, they manufactured everything under the sun—from sewing needles to space stations. Frankly, talking about sanctions against them feels a bit ridiculous. For instance, they won't just jump on a Boeing or an Airbus; they'll simply stick to their own Boeing or Lockheed Martin models.

Henry Sullivan4 said:Oh, absolutely, and once Turkish customs intercepts a little Russian grain boat, things could get really intense, because the benefits Turkey stands to gain have to be incredibly massive, and I can just see Boris and Redžep patting each other on the back one day while someone else gets left out in the cold, just trust me on that one.☕

Teams have been prepping for major shifts like this for decades, and this war finally set them in motion.

The INSTC aims to streamline transport for both freight and passengers, opening up much wider market access for the participating countries through integrated supply chain links.

The member nations Can develop themselves as logistics and Transit hubs but Can also focus on developing themselves as manufacturing hubs through hard and Soft infrastructural development. There is also a clear emphasis on improving route security and environmental standards.

Short distances and faster deliveries lead to cost reduction: the INSTC claims to be the most direct trade route connecting India with Russia. A 2014 study by the Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Association of India (FFFAI) found that the INSTC was 30 percent cheaper and 40 percent shorter than the old way via the Suez Canal. It cuts transit times for shipments headed to Europe down to an average of 23 days, compared to the 45-60 days required by the Suez Canal route.

swiftjackal11 said:Sanctions cut both ways. It's just that one side is the aggressor and the other is the collateral damage. Since we're at war with Putin, we better hope he doesn't start aiming at us too.

Since when has America been at war with Russia?

Thanks in advance.

swiftjackal11 said:There are really two types of people here. Some actually get who the aggressor is, while others think "denazification" is a perfectly fine excuse for targeting a nation.

Everyone knows exactly who started this fight and who is just trying to survive.

The real issue is that most people don't think for themselves; they let someone else do their mental heavy lifting.

At this rate, paying through the nose for energy costs is just another way of shooting ourselves in the foot.

Bryan Booth82 said:Look, we aren't at war with China (yet), and besides, sanctions are decided by whoever is actually pulling the trigger on them.
More importantly, we are finally seeing people in the West openly discussing how dangerously dependent our economy has become—a situation we essentially engineered ourselves. Once there’s actual awareness, you get a reaction, and eventually, a shift in policy.
I truly hope we don't reach a point where we have to slap sanctions on China, because their economic scale is simply incomparable to... well, Russia's economy.
Plus, if you ask me, the Chinese aren't quite as reckless as the Russians; they aren't likely to go shooting themselves in the foot just for the sake of it.

Best,

So we're at war with Russia instead!? 🤣

silentnomad7 said:And then, oh boy, we'd have to start opening up massive factories all over the EU and hiring millions of workers to run them! It would be an absolute disaster for everyone living in the EU, because think about it—there would be even *more* job opportunities available... what a tragedy!

Mdaaaa, but China has cheaper energy and lower labor costs. The world would go crazy for EU products precisely because they're so expensive. 🤣
Sanctions on Russia in War in Ukraine ·
We could just as easily slash Chinese imports to zero, since they’ve also been branded as the "common enemy" in the latest official doctrine for the vassals.
Sanctions on Russia in War in Ukraine ·
These sanctions seem solid enough (assuming we're looking at round eight). I still haven't quite pinned down who the actual targets are 🤣
.

The leader of US hegemony just issued a directive to the lower classes:

https://twitter.com/POTUS/status/154...ztmKfZQEgoKYPg
My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril.

Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.
