Handball World Cup: USA vs. Poland (28-24) in Other Sports ·
Sean Gonzalez95 said:Good grief, now we’ve gotta invent whole new slang terms just to describe how bad someone’s playing, like calling it "clunker-style" or something.😂

But honestly, that kid absolutely kills it during practice... he plays like he's on some other planet, maybe 500% better than when the actual games start... then he steps onto the court and just totally blackouts... but if you saw him in drills, a team like the Golden State Warriors would be snapping him up in a heartbeat.

Look, if you don't want to believe me, hey, that's on you.☕

I totally feel you though... I mean, people were saying the exact same thing about Carlos back in the day, how he was tearing it up during preseason, but man, when a guy is just built like a lightning bolt...

you're never gonna see him play at his level once those stadium lights hit him and the nerves start kicking in.☕

Honestly, Buntic is basically the polar opposite of Kopljar 🙏 🙏

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Man, Szmal always plays out of his mind when he's facing us, but it’s kind of hard to pull off anything when the rest of his squad is playing like total Kopljarevski

George Robinson43 said:Instead of getting those +6 or +7, we just walked away with a measly +2.

Man, if it wasn't for those +6 coming straight from Schmalov's 14 saves, we wouldn't even be in this conversation! 🙄

And why on earth couldn't they just play on the flip side of the schedule? 😠

Man, oh man... seriously though... 😬

frozentiger6 said:Man, I’m just now starting to really feel that loss against Sweden... it’s definitely hitting me a little harder than I expected.

Is it just me, or am I only just now realizing how much they totally screwed over a squad like this with all their ridiculous little rules? Honestly, it’s kind of wild how they managed to tie hands like that with such nonsense—it's actually pretty brutal when you think about it. 😠

"Šmal is totally ready for this" 🤦

Man, that ball is just flying straight down the middle of the net, holy crap...

Good grief, what a game! 🤦 Honestly, the Australia-New Zealand matchup was nothing compared to this madness

Man, he totally crossed the line again, didn't he?🤣

I don't know, maybe those lines just have some weird 3D effect going on... kind of like those pop-up picture books we used to obsess over when we were little kids, you know?☕
Nicholas Morales48 said:Oh thanks, I'm definitely gonna go hunt down some Zeppelin clips on YouTube now😁

Just so you don't have to stress about it too much😬 it isn't technically the actual Zeppelin, but honestly, it hits just as hard

Man, if we're talking about a poster, compared to that thing from yesterday, this is freaking incredible🤦
Nicholas Morales48 said:Honestly, watching some of these games during this tournament, I’m kind of bummed because I haven't seen a single one of those wild plays where a player charges into space and, instead of just blasting it at the net, accidentally pokes it right to a teammate who's jumping for the ball and hammers it home 🙏

By the way, what do you call that move? 😬

Zeppelin ☕

The Swedes tried to pull something off against us right at the end of the game, but they couldn't quite find the back of the net.
Ryan Moore68 said:Yeah, totally... I honestly think he was talking directly to Napoleon 🤣
And it feels so legit too, since Alan Ford only started getting released in American versions just a few years ago, whereas before they were all coming out as those old-school imports from the former Yugoslavia translated into American.

Oh, come on, don't even start complaining... We had to slog through everything like Zagora, Mr. No, Marty Mystery, Black Stone, and all that other stuff ☕
in that weird regional dialect we used back then.
😁
Ryan Moore68 said:Look, if we’re acting as the organizers here, we really ought to put in some extra effort—you know, maybe just "accidentally" let the heating die in the rooms where those Swedish guys are staying the night before the big game. 🤣

Yeah, that’s really gonna wreck them... though, let's be real, they're pretty much used to dealing with that tropical heat anyway. 🤣 🤣
George Ward7 said:I’m honestly worried that what those Americans went through today doesn't even compare to the absolute mess we're looking at tomorrow. I'm genuinely scared we're going to get totally robbed.

Look, you can still play even when the refs are against you, you just really have to keep your cool... it’s going to be an uphill battle for sure, but the whole thing hinges on staying locked in and not letting them get under our skin...

Like I mentioned before, if the coaching staff has even a tiny bit of sense in their heads, they really ought to be prepping the guys for the fact that we might get cheated more than ever before... that's basically the secret sauce to actually pulling off a win tomorrow..
Jeffrey Fisher61 said:I’m really hoping today was proof that Mirko can actually pull this off, because honestly, we aren't even asking for much—if he could just hit a 30% defensive rate, we'd be golden 🙏

His average was sitting right at 32% leading up to today's game 🤷
casualfox112 said:It’s gonna be a real battle against those Swedes, but we absolutely have to pull off a win, there’s just no other way.🙂

Honestly, I think we could actually steamroll them... the guys looked absolutely feral out there today... you could see it in their eyes even during the anthem, like they were just itching to tear someone apart... and if they keep playing with that kind of intensity and focus, the only ones who can really give us a run for our money are the French...

If we step onto the field tomorrow with that same level of grit we showed today, even having ten extra players wouldn't be enough to save the other team. ☕
Ryan Moore68 said:I'm pretty sure Denmark is definitely going to let the Swedes through. 😉

I could honestly just sit back and relax if I wanted to... as long as we pull off two more wins, we’re cruising straight into the semifinals!

So, if Denmark manages to pull off a win against Argentina, things get pretty interesting for us. If that X match against Poland also goes our way, we’re looking at a situation where both we and the Swedes end up sitting on 6 points. Since we’d have the head-to-head advantage over them, we’d be moving on to the next round! The only real headache is if the Danes decide to jump into that 6-point circle too—then we might actually be looking at getting knocked out on goal difference, which would definitely suck. 🙂

Honestly, I wouldn't even stress about all those crazy combination scenarios; if we can just pull off wins in both games, then we're golden and everything works out perfectly!☕
frozentiger6 said:I’ve got this nagging feeling that the IHF is low-key rigging things so Sweden and Denmark slide right into the semifinals.

If you throw Iceland into the mix, that’s basically three out of four teams if the French make it through as the fourth seed.

Pfft!

No way in hell😁

Honestly, that’s why I mentioned on that other thread how much I’d love to see Poland pull off a win, even if it doesn't actually knock anyone out... it’s just way easier to manipulate the bracket when you're dealing with three teams fighting for two spots instead of four.

But whatever, at the end of the day, we just have to go out there and take down the Swedes tomorrow, so they can rig whatever they want. If we manage to walk away with an unresolved score against the Poles, we’ll be in a pretty good spot.☕

Unless, of course, the Danes decide to throw their games against Sweden and Argentina on purpose... then I guess goal difference would become a massive factor.

Anthony Wilson4 said:Man, what actually happens if we knock out Sweden tomorrow and then end up facing Poland??? I mean, wouldn't the Americans have to take on the Swedes next, right?

Basically, you'd just see a bunch of Americans and Swedes going at it ☕

frozentiger6 said:Wait, hold up, what did Doug just say about the Gauchos? That they beat Slovakia, which he called some tiny little Russian state? 😁

An American state 😉
The Americans have a bag too, you know...

Man, well... I guess it's all over now. 😢
The refs are totally blowing the calls at -1 👋
