Angela Wright, slyseal28, did you guys see my messages in your inbox and email? This feels just like that whole situation we saw on "Science Frontiers." Let me know how things are playing out...

Unfortunately, I missed the show. We’ve had next to zero TV time lately. Right now, we’re neck-deep in the fight for Sutent, crunching the numbers on the petition, and honestly, life outside this just demands everything we've got. If you have a recording, upload it to YouTube and drop the link here.

Give it a shot right away. It won't hurt you.👍
quietbison14 said:Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I just have this bit of info from the national news stating one hospital is the "Karolinska" in Stockholm and the other is called "...German Krefeld..."
Is there any way to get in touch with them, or more specifically, is there any new information on where I can reach out to the doctors?

Thanks for listening... please help.

You’re going to have to Google it, hunt down a phone number or an email, and reach out to them directly. There isn't any other way.

Look, man, just grab a handful of sea salt, mix it into some steaming hot water, drape a towel over your head, and start inhaling... everything will finally click once you've done that.👍
quietbison14 said:Hey everyone,

Today 02.02.09 in Chicago (Rebro), my dad was told he can't get the Gamma Knife procedure. (They’re pointing him toward radiation treatment in Osijek instead.)

I'm asking for help from anyone who knows from experience where this procedure can be done—any contact info, specific places, countries, or doctors we could reach out to to get this sorted.

Son Domagoj from Osijek
email: domagojz@hotmail.com

Thanks so much.

As far as I know, Rebro is the only facility in the US that has a Gamma Knife. It might exist in Canada, Mexico, or Austria. We had some pretty terrible experiences with the Canadians when we begged them to take some of our members for chemotherapy using drugs that aren't registered here. Mostly, they just brushed us off, saying they don't accept American patients, so don't be surprised if you run into that kind of wall. We don't have any experience with Mexico, but things are great with Austria. Try Googling Austrian or Swiss clinics. Just keep in mind that Medicare will likely give you a hard time approving funds for the surgery, regardless of the fact that it's subsidized domestically or that the Gamma Knife is currently out of service here. The procedure is expensive.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
Kimberly White63 said:I’ve been a patient under my primary care doctor through Medicare for about 10 years now. I end up paying out of pocket for every single test and medication because she refuses to issue anything—no prescriptions, no referrals—even though I have a mountain of specialist reports clearly proving I’m sick. I’ve never taken a sick day before, but my health has taken such a massive hit over the last year that sometimes I barely have the strength to make it to work, let alone actually perform. Yesterday, I actually collapsed at work. A customer had to drive me straight to my doctor, but she flat-out refused to sign off on a sick leave, acting like it was nothing just because my temperature was only 103°F and my blood pressure was 130/80.

Is it actually true that you can't get medical leave if your temp and blood pressure are within "normal" ranges? What happens if, say, you break your leg?

I forced myself into work today because I couldn't just stay home, and now I have to head out to inspect some construction sites. I'm terrified I'll pass out behind the wheel and plow into someone who didn't do anything wrong.

Can I go seek a second opinion from a different doctor, and if so, how do I go about doing that?

It’s pretty straightforward. Grab your medical records and head straight to a doctor working a different shift, or find one closer to you if needed. If they give you any trouble, file a formal complaint against the physician with Medicare.

Woke up around 11 today and this is where things stand...

My ear still feels weirdly tight and pressurized... not really sure what to do here.

Nothing is leaking out anymore, but I'm too nervous to even touch it in case I make it worse...

I feel silly going to the ER, honestly. Not even sure if this counts as an emergency...

That is exactly why doctors and the ER exist—to make those calls for you. In my opinion, you're looking at a sinus infection. If you head to an urgent care clinic specializing in ENT, they'll take you in immediately and run all the tests you'd otherwise be waiting days for through your primary doctor and the standard referral process. If I were in your shoes, I’d just go and stop stressing about it. Ear bleeding isn't normal, regardless of what's causing it. Just get it sorted!

briskstag13 said:Can anyone recommend a good pulmonologist, either private or through the hospital system?
My boyfriend is dealing with chronic bronchitis and ends up having issues a hundred times a year (coughing up blood, chest pain, shortness of breath, etc.). His GP keeps sending him for lung scans, blood work, and allergy tests, and everything comes back looking totally fine. Still, coughing up blood doesn't seem normal to me, regardless of the bronchitis—especially at 21—and I really want a professional opinion. Thanks.

Head toward Jordan. It's a specialized pulmonary clinic. Honestly, coughing up blood doesn't strike me as just "chronic bronchitis." That's more indicative of things like TB or tumors... but hey, that's just my amateur take on it...go to Jordan

Go see a doctor. In my opinion, your sinuses are completely shot and you've got some inflammation hitting your ear too.

Some folks are just out here trying to make a living... and let's be real, it's an uphill battle.🤷
Dink, everything just moved so fast... we didn't even get a chance to finish eating those bars of Goran's, given how much you talked about them... there’s still so much left unsaid, untold, and undefined...🙂🙂🙂 My dear, you’ll stay in my heart forever. Exceptional people like you, Dink, are few and far between... just know that I’m going to stay positive and keep doing everything in my power to help people like you, and to do it all for you... you remain my inspiration until the next time we meet where you'll be waiting for us all with that infectious smile... kisses

A dear person in my life has been diagnosed with a grade three anaplastic ganglioneuroblastoma. I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has any actual information or insights regarding this specific diagnosis... please let me know. Thanks...
Wishing everyone the best!

I'm always the one stepping up and playing the hero when things go south, but the second I need a hand, everyone suddenly disappears.

Damn, man, what if you aren't gay?😕🤷

Just kidding.😉

Just put some ice on it if it hurts. I highly doubt it's anything major.

Not a chance. That was pure self-defense.👍
Profučako, this is your one golden ticket to pull this off and walk away unscathed.😛

Come on, quit the whining already; you aren't that fragile. The whole issue is just that you can't stand the lady. Just grab an ice pack and find a different auntie who actually wants to comfort you and give you a little love. Then you'll be all set.😍

Justin Gray said:I’m starting this thread because of something that went down yesterday. Some idiot girl pinched my cheek so hard she wouldn't let go, and I almost clocked her right in the face just to get her off me. Once I finally wrenched myself away, my whole face was throbbing, and a few minutes later, everything actually went numb. It still hurts today, though thankfully just a "normal" kind of pain. Look, we can joke around and play-pinch all day, but this was straight-up assault. Thinking back on it makes me want to snap those fingers off a cow. I am absolutely livid.
The real question is, how much damage does a pinch like that actually do? Is there a genuine risk of damaging the facial nerve?
And what about pinching other parts of the body where you end up covered in bruises? Can that lead to dangerous blood clots?

P.S.
What is wrong with some women? Do they think male skin is made of rubber or a heavy bag at a boxing gym??? You people need to have some damn awareness, because with those thin, weak, retarded little fingers, you can seriously maim someone too... for god's sake.😠

Why didn't you pinch her ass or her chest instead?👍
Rachel Chase80 said:Sadly, we all know there are ugly things coming our way, and the most heartbreaking part is feeling completely powerless to stop them 😢

The best thing you can do is provide top-tier palliative care... show her love, stay by her side, make sure she’s clean, fed, and comfortable. We’re all just passing through this life, and there isn't a damn thing we can do to change the inevitable, but we can at least ensure the final chapter is peaceful and dignified.
steelfalcon15 said:Look, this movie just lays bare how these greedy vultures run insurance companies. Honestly, I’m convinced the exact same kind of scum is running big pharma, because I still can't wrap my head around how a single medication can cost half a million dollars!!! Are you seriously expected to sell your house or your apartment just to stay alive?!?! 😲 😲 😲 It's sickening!

Anyway, arguing about this is a waste of breath. Let's focus on what actually matters: how to get healthy as fast as possible and how to look out for those around us. I have an idea for helping people that's a bit more complicated to pull off, and I really don't feel like typing the whole thing out on a message board. Jamie Rivera78 said:Look, you really shouldn't be playing defense for Big Pharma. I'm pretty well-versed in how this works, and frankly, all that research talk is just a smokescreen for fleecing the sickest people out there. No other industry pulls margins like the pharmaceutical giants do. Make no mistake—your health isn't their priority; their priority is squeezing every last cent out of your pocket.

Trust me, I know exactly what’s going on and I’m certainly not defending them, but even if we set aside their blatant greed, we're still talking about astronomical numbers that would make anyone's head spin, and those drugs would remain prohibitively expensive regardless.
You see, when we first started diving into this "hobby" of ours, we had to face the cold, hard reality of both sides. We work alongside various scientists—some of them world-class experts—and they tell us straight up how grueling and exhausting the road to developing a drug like Sutent actually is. That process costs a fortune, and then you have the executives at the big pharma corporations stepping in to tack on their own massive profit margins on top of it... so yeah, I get it, I really do. At the same time, I also know that passing some kind of sweeping federal law to rein them in is basically pure Utopia, but I also know that putting pressure on the players in our own backyard is entirely doable. That’s exactly what we’re doing—just a small group of us—and we’re making progress, even if our numbers are slim. Just imagine what would happen if everyone rose up together, like they did back when they fought against Sunday closing laws... man, where would it end?🙏
