Laptop recommendations? in Laptops ·
I’m on the hunt for a new laptop—honestly, budget isn't really an issue here. I just need something that can handle the basics like browsing, Office, streaming music, and bingeing shows, but it also needs enough kick for photo editing, some video work, and putting together high-quality creative projects. If anyone's got some solid recommendations, let me know

So, I went in for my checkup and the doctor basically told me everything’s fine—like, this kind of stuff happens. He actually said I don't even need to take a break from them. Since these are those low-dose hormone pills, he reckons taking a break does more harm than good anyway. Plus, we ran blood work back in the spring and everything looked solid—then did an ovarian ultrasound after New Year's, too. Honestly, if the doctors aren't waving any red flags, I'm not going to start stressing about a break.

Has anyone ever dealt with this? I’m on Yasminelle—take it religiously, haven't missed a single pill—though maybe I took about three or four of them a couple of hours later than usual. No stomach issues or anything, no vomiting or diarrhea. Anyway, I had a week off from the pills, and my period just wouldn't show up. Then on Tuesday, I got this tiny bit of spotting—just a little discharge that keeps coming and going. Now I’m supposed to start a new pack today, and honestly, it feels super weird. I’ve been on these for seven years. The cramps feel like my typical period pains, plus I had my usual pre-period migraine, though it dragged on a bit longer this time.

Have they hit the States yet?

It’s a relief to see I’m not the only one dealing with this. Reading about your experiences helps.
These pills are driving me crazy. I can't even tell what's a normal side effect anymore. Since stopping birth control isn't an option right now, I'll try to make a logical case for switching brands. My doctor will probably listen, though she's usually running on a treadmill, so negotiating with her isn't exactly easy.
I'll look into some alternatives.
Hopefully, everything works out so I can just forget this whole period ever happened.😁

I went through the exact same thing. I finally switched to Yasminelle, though they're still hard to find around here... they have lower hormone levels than Triquilar. Once I told my doctor that I'd gained over twenty pounds in the last year and a half and that my libido had basically vanished, she was totally on board with changing my prescription. Switching to these has been a game changer—my drive is finally back and I'm enjoying things way more. You can definitely tell the difference in my relationship too.🙂

So, I finally started taking Yasminelle, and honestly? It’s been a total game-changer. My libido is back to how it used to be—like, old school levels—and I can actually feel my weight stabilizing too. No more feeling bloated all the time, my mood is way more balanced, and just... everything else is just better. Seriously, it's the best. Too bad they haven't released it here in the States yet. 😢
Sex is fine, but my OBGYN says no?! in Women's Health ·
In my opinion, girls should be heading to the gynecologist way before they ever have sex. People constantly conflate the two, which is just wrong. Why wouldn't a girl go see a doctor at 16—or even earlier—just to get informed on what to expect, maybe grab an ultrasound or something?
My own mom actually took me to her doctor when I was 16 just to get the lowdown. I’d been seeing my boyfriend for a while and we knew that 😁 was going to happen sooner or later, so we wanted to be prepared. It wasn't a big deal. We chatted for about half an hour—she walked me through different diseases, how to stay protected, and even mentioned she could write a prescription for birth control, giving me all the heads-up and warnings I needed to know. Personally, I think every girl should have that first visit by 16. Obviously, if someone starts having sex earlier, they should go even sooner, though honestly, I think it's pretty wild for a 13 or 14-year-old to be sexually active—but hey, everyone has their own take on things 😁
How does a man decide to become an OB-GYN? in Women's Health ·
So, I actually see a male OB-GYN and honestly? He’s great... most women in my area go to him. It’s pretty obvious he isn't getting any sexual thrills from the job either—I mean, his wife is right there with him... just imagine how awkward a Pap smear feels in that situation... he's looking at you while his wife is standing right next to you... haha
So, following my own weird logic—which probably isn't medical advice by any means—I’d say there’s no need to freak out. I did finish up those antibiotics right during that 7-day break... anyway, I’m heading to the dentist tomorrow, so I'll just ask them directly and see what they think.
so what, you got nothing to say?
Look, I need some advice. I’ve been on antibiotics for the last few days—the kind that messes with birth control—and I just finished my last dose yesterday. Today was my first pill again after that usual seven-day break. Well, I hooked up with my boyfriend last night and things got a little... messy. Hmm... should I be freaking out, or is it worth hitting up my OB-GYN tomorrow?

Look, I’m just going to say it—because clearly, nobody else in this digital wasteland has the guts to—everything feels like a cheap imitation lately. It’s all surface, no substance, just a constant stream of noise designed to keep us scrolling while the actual quality of everything drops through the floor. Honestly? It’s exhausting. You try to find something genuine, something that doesn't feel like it was manufactured in a boardroom by people who haven't seen sunlight since the Bush administration, and you come up empty. Every single time. It’s the same old cycle—manufactured hype, followed by massive disappointment, and then we’re all expected to just shrug and move on to the next shiny object. Well, I’m not shrugging. I’m sitting here, watching the decline, and wondering when we collectively decided that "good enough" was actually acceptable. Spoiler alert: it isn't. kaže:
Man, I’ve been riding these pills for almost two years now... and honestly? My only thought is whether I can just swap them out for something else. Anything else. What are we even looking at here? Which ones actually work without making you feel like a zombie?

Look, I’ve been around for two years now—give or take—but even compared to Yasmine, you guys seem to have the absolute bare minimum when it comes to actually giving a damn about anyone else. I mean, if you're already itching to point fingers at other people, fine, go ahead, but don't act like you're doing anything meaningful.

Look, this is what the news is peddling right now regarding Yasmine and those girls' deaths—and honestly? It’s all being taken completely out of context. We're sitting here reading these headlines and just absorbing them without any critical thought, totally missing the actual reality of the situation. It's exhausting, really. That’s just my take on it—take it or leave it.

Look, it’s already written right there on the tablet packaging—the side effects are listed for a reason. Seriously, before you go making any sudden moves toward switching to those new tablets, you absolutely have to check in with your doctor first. Just don't wing it.

Look, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—women react to these pills differently. It’s not some one-size-fits-all situation, you know? One day you take a dose and feel like a million bucks, the next—well, things are different. Honestly, at the end of the day, you just have to listen to your own body. There’s really no other way to play it.
Of course—not to mention all that searching for blood samples and whatever else they’re digging up... honestly, it’s just more of the same.

It’s funny—you know how some people swear by these things like they're magic bullets? Well, for me, it’s pretty much the same story every single time. It doesn't cause massive, life-altering shifts for everyone—some folks might just end up with a bit of a headache or feel slightly nauseous, which is a total drag—but there is one universal constant across the board. Across the entire spectrum of how people react, the libido just... tanks. It’s like the drive just hits a wall and stays there. Every single time.

Look, I really want to make it clear—and I mean crystal clear—that when those girls were dealing with their issues while on the medication, none of that was actually tied back to Yasmine. It wasn't her fault, period. And honestly? I feel terrible about how everything went down... it’s just a damn shame.

Get away from smoking—seriously, highly recommended! ...and yeah, maybe cut back on the booze too, especially when you're going hard on the weekends.😁So, you're actually starting to take these tablets? Honestly, I mean—wow. It’s about time, I guess. You can’t just sit there waiting for a miracle to drop out of the sky while you ignore the obvious stuff—it’s just common sense at this point. I know, I know, everyone loves to talk about "natural remedies" and all that nonsense, but sometimes you just have to face reality and follow the regimen. Just don't come crying to me when you realize how much of a grind the routine actually is—consistency is a beast, believe me.

I'm not even talking about—well, you know what I mean. It’s just one of those things where people get all worked up over nothing, and honestly, if I have to explain the obvious one more time, I might actually lose it. It's like everyone is walking around with their eyes shut, expecting a miracle when they haven't even put in the basic effort. Not that I'm complaining—heaven knows I've complained enough today—but it's exhausting watching the same patterns repeat itself day after day. Anyway, point being, it’s not even about that specific thing, it's about the whole ridiculous situation surrounding it. Just... ugh. Look, let’s be real for a second—there’s nothing quite like that feeling of being completely and utterly blindsided by absolute nonsense. You know the type. It’s that moment where everything you thought was solid just... dissolves. Total nonsense. Pure, unadulterated garbage. Honestly, it’s become kind of a lifestyle at this point, hasn't it? Just constant, rolling waves of absurdity hitting you left and right while you're just trying to grab a coffee and exist. It’s exhausting, really. But hey, what else is new? Don't even get me started on that—seriously, don't even bother thinking about it, because they’re basically walking cocktails of pure hormones!

...or just go ahead and switch to condoms—find the ones that actually work for you. Then you can get back to enjoying intimacy again without all the extra stress.😍

Here we go again—seriously, what’s the point of taking those pills just to get "protection" if you end up killing your entire libido in the process? Like, why bother? You trade your drive for some peace of mind, and suddenly you’re basically a zombie. It’s a ridiculous trade-off.
Honestly, just go ahead and use condoms—you might as well enjoy yourselves.
And let’s be real—I’m not even talking about that mythical 100% certainty, because let’s face it, you aren't getting that with any contraceptive method out there. None of them are perfect. Period.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of that scale used to measure how reliable different birth control methods actually are... starts with a P... whatever, I'll figure it out later.

Look, if you actually want an answer, you should probably go find some expert somewhere—you know, someone who actually knows their stuff—and have them run the numbers on a scale to see what’s actually safe. Just trust me on this one.

When are people actually going to realize that Yasmin doesn't even have real hormones—it’s just straight-up Logest... honestly, almost every gynecologist out there admits it by now.🤣
Alright, I’m asking this too—why on earth did she get a red card?
I don't see where she broke any rule in the PDF.
Tampons in Women's Health ·
Nicole Parker93 said:Look, if you run into Tampax, definitely check out the packaging. I’ve traveled all over and tried pretty much every brand under the sun, but honestly—hand on heart—OB is hands down the absolute worst stuff I've ever used. They're stiff, they have zero flexibility, and they're just plain uncomfortable. And don't act like I'm some clueless kid who doesn't know how to use them; I've been using tampons for nearly 15 years. Next time I head back to the States, I'm making sure I pack my own Tampax.

I saw yesterday that Tampax is finally stocked at CVS
So, that’s what they call the mini-pill—basically what women take when their progesterone levels are low... I don't know the exact medical criteria for deciding who gets what, but I know my friend takes them because if she used the combined ones, she’d end up with way too much of that other hormone—the name of which is totally slipping my mind right now
I was on Sumamed myself just recently for a sore throat—asked my doctor about it too, and they basically told me not to sweat it since there’s absolutely zero interaction between them.
Look, it’s not a given that your protection is gonna take a hit... you should probably check with your doctor if those antibiotics actually clash with the Triquilar—it’s not a guaranteed thing, you know?
As for that other stuff, I’m keeping my mouth shut since I’m really not sure myself.
Robert Cook said:Hey, can I start taking birth control even if I’m not on my period right now? I haven't been on them for over a month, so I'm wondering—do you absolutely have to wait for the first day of your cycle, or is that not a thing?🤷😕

You don't strictly have to wait—a friend of mine didn't, and her OBGYN gave her the green light (though she had some issues with it later on)—but just know you won't be fully protected right away, so you'll definitely need to use backup protection.

And regarding Triquillar, I end up paying $40 for it, $9.75

I'm getting worried... plus I have no clue what else to try next 🤷🤷
What other options are out there?
I looked for Stediril-M but it's not available here in the States...👎

Look, whether they're "poultry" brands or whatever doesn't matter—it's about the slow ovulation and all that. As for what else is available? I don't know, that’s literally what your OB-GYN should be telling you. Honestly, though, you seriously need to find a new doctor.
