Yeah, the whole headache is that since the numbers all have different widths, they just won't line up nicely no matter how much you fiddle with them.
Here’s how you fix it:
Just build yourself a table with two columns and however many rows you need. Center the whole thing on the page. In that first column, toss in your chapter number and the title, then put the page number in the second one. Make sure you shrink that second column down as tight as it'll go and set the alignment to the right.
Final touch: highlight the table, right-click it -> Borders & Shading, hit the Borders tab, and select None.

Voila—or whatever you want to call it!

Man, I was messing around with this stuff way back when, like, way back in '96, and I gotta tell you, it worked pretty smoothly. You aren't even connecting to the internet; the fax comes in "through" the phone line—which, honestly, isn't much different from how a standard old-school fax machine operates since those aren't online either. Here’s how it went down for me: you fire up the program, the phone rings (you can set it to ring once or multiple times if you're feeling fancy), the software triggers the modem, and the fax pops right up on your screen or prints out. There's zero internet involved in that process. Of course, the big catch is that your modem actually has to support faxing. And look, I'm sure software has come a long way since '96, so it's probably even better now.
The only real headache is that you need to know a fax is coming so you can actually have the program running. If you leave the program open all the time and someone calls you just to chat, the incoming fax signal will hit the line, confuse the system, and you'll end up having to manually kill the program to stop the chaos.

But you're totally overlooking the fact that loading speed is mostly dictated by network traffic, which is a huge factor here 😁 If you actually wanted to prove anything, the smartest way would be to host some massive, data-heavy page on a local server or just on your own machine and then time the load speeds from there.

Ever since I started messing around with CSS for Edge, I’ve been losing sleep over it—not to mention the massive headaches... it's easily the most buggy browser around... honestly, just like pretty much any other Microsoft product, if you ask me...

First off, just to clear the air, I’m using Chrome too, mostly because of all the garbage that Edge lets slide through.
But when it comes to how pages actually look? Chrome kind of falls behind. Even compared to Netscape, which is honestly a little weird. In Edge or Netscape, a page looks exactly how you intended it to, but then Chrome starts acting totally stupid—like, it'll stretch an entire table just to fit some text inside a ComboBox. And don't even get me started on image layers; it's a total mess. Seriously, once I stumble upon a site where the difference is obvious, I'll drop a link.

The real kicker, though, is that there are certain things that just flat-out refuse to work in Firefox, yet they run perfectly fine in Internet Explorer. That's why I'm leaning towards Internet Explorer being the superior browser, even if I have to admit it has its fair share of security flaws. Anyway, just for the record, I'm using Firefox myself right now.

Have you even bothered to try using OpenOffice? It’s actually pretty straightforward if you just open up the .pdf, save it as a .txt file, then pull that into Microsoft Word and save it back out as a .doc.
