One has to consider the power-to-weight ratio. And when you talk about qualifying, we're looking at a deficit of roughly 150-200 hp, to say nothing of the rest.
A car like that, even in the hands of a truly great driver, might fight for maybe 10th place at most.
The bolid wasn't some junker; it was a solidly put-together car hampered by an anemic engine and a budget deficit.
It was a far cry from the absolute garbage that used to show up in F1 back in those years.
F1 had many more teams back then, and quite a few couldn't even make the cut for the race.
In that regard, Toleman was actually successful because they at least guaranteed a spot on the grid.

And it truly saddens me that they were banned.
You aren't satirists, nor are you some sort of grassroots rebels; you are simply shielded by the moderators, and your greatest achievement seems to be composing mindless little rhymes and playing the victim.
Perhaps you should take a moment for some self-reflection.
Do you think I'm allowed to say that? 🙂

Honestly, you all are just a blur of faces to me; I can't recall a single one of your names.
Jesse Howard43 said:Look, this is precisely how those people write. Am I not telling you that I only ventured onto this topic because you all have been getting under my skin in every other thread, and I realized that this specific discussion is essentially the root of all the friction? Please, for God's sake, try to read with a bit of comprehension. Now, I am simply sitting here waiting for that other individual to show up and tell me that I am not allowed to post certain things despite having such an extensive history of contributions, only to then turn around and start quoting the thread warnings to demand we all be banned. That is the genuine state of affairs on the US soccer forum.
Jesse Howard43 said:Why isn't there a single fan thread with clear guidelines in the opening post?
Is it truly such an insurmountable task to simply open one dedicated thread for each side, include the necessary warnings in both, and ensure everything remains peaceful in America? I struggle to comprehend why we must pretend that other threads are somehow "fan-driven" when they lack any specific warnings and remain open for anyone to contribute. This lack of structure allows the haters to descend upon those fan threads as well, polluting them so thoroughly that it becomes nearly impossible to discuss soccer normally without someone constantly grating on your nerves with random trolling comments—calling people losers, sheep, or criminals, or claiming we'll lose everything, and the list goes on and on...
---------
I didn't even bother opening this hateful thread until I realized that all those exhausting individuals from that very discussion were migrating to every single national team match thread to constantly troll and spout nonsense about how much they hate us, cheering for every single opponent we face. That is quite literally the sole reason I ever stepped foot into your thread; when I first saw it, I immediately dismissed it because the title made it obvious it was just some childish nonsense akin to YouTube comments, which frankly doesn't interest me at all. And I would stake my reputation on the fact that the primary reason fans of the national team end up in your thread is precisely because you manage to pollute every other thread on this subforum by repeating the same tiresome jokes over and over, which is exactly what happened to me. In all honesty, if I hadn't been forced to read your commentary twenty-four hours a day in every single topic, I never would have entered your thread in the first place. The same applies to perhaps eighty percent of other users. You could go off and write your little poems from morning until night for all I care.
MOD Note: Preaching or lecturing about patriotism, sacred values, or any other form of moralizing will not be permitted in this thread. The title makes it perfectly clear what the subject matter is, so if someone finds that offensive, they simply shouldn't open the thread in the first place.

mellowtiger83 said:What does it matter whether it was dangerous or not? And truly, what relevance does the specific speed have in this context?
I simply cannot fathom how one could fail to grasp the gravity of this situation; it is fundamentally unsportsmanlike and, quite frankly, downright disrespectful, which will undoubtedly leave a lasting stain on the integrity of the sport. Do you truly not see the issue here? While I am certainly not suggesting that any immediate physical danger was present, one cannot deny that the entire maneuver was incredibly unsightly and, if we are being honest, remarkably foolish.
