So, there goes that Red Bull qualifying advantage...

It seems 😢
a bit silly, really. They could have just left things as they were. If they hadn't done this, they would have been overtaken during the race anyway, which usually makes for much better TV—watching the rest of the field hunt them down for that top spot. As it stands now, they might end up starting further back, which actually keeps things more interesting.

Then again, who knows? Maybe they'll just mess it all up and it turns out the whole "trick" wasn't even what we thought it was. 🙂

What exactly do you expect them to do, drive all the way until sunset?🤣

The sky over San Diego looks just like this

It would be quite something if we saw a repeat of this 😬

🤷 🤣🤣🤣 🤣

Goodnight 😬
Maldonado? 🤷

EDIT: Oh, wait, just some old rubber tires, haha

Honestly, it's true, isn't it?😛 😛 😛

And they definitely stirred the pot with Sauber; feels like they were just setting the stage for this race.😂

The ban itself wouldn't even touch Red Bull. They're still sitting at No. 1—the real question is who takes No. 2.☕

Plus, Williams is bringing him in. They gave him a run during testing in Turkey, but he ended up messing up the bodywork. It seems like they've finally sorted that out now...

The FIA 🤦 finally

gave in.

😂😂😂😂😂
I suppose we should have seen this coming, shouldn't we? It felt inevitable that someone would step up to make a scene over this, eventually forcing the hand of those in charge to back down and soften their stance. 🤦
stormybadger8 said:God, what an idiot move🤣

Are they out of their minds? Canceling stuff just a few days before the race🤦

Don't sweat it too much; at the end of the day, we're really just looking at a minor adjustment of a few hundred lines of code. 🤣🤣🤣It’ll likely amount to nothing, just some mechanical technicality. Besides, isn't it true that almost everyone already has their old exhausts sitting around ready to go? 😬

We're in for an interesting weekend seeing who can actually adapt best to this sudden shift in the blown diffuser regulations.

The FIA dropping a decision like this just a few days before a Grand Prix? It definitely feels a little suspicious to me.🤷

I’m not entirely convinced that 90% of the grid is actually running blown diffusers. Even for those who are, the efficiency levels seem to vary wildly from one team to the next. From what I understand, Red Bull is reaping the biggest rewards out of it, which really makes me wonder how this is going to impact Renault and their front exhaust setup. It's an interesting puzzle, isn't it?
The blown diffusers from the Spanish Embassy are officially a thing of the past.

Basically, those blown diffusers work by keeping the throttle engaged through the corner, ensuring the exhaust gases are constantly pumping out at high pressure. It’s a clever way to massively boost the downforce generated by the diffuser.

However, the FIA has stepped in and capped the throttle opening during braking at just 10% of its maximum value.

What’s really interesting here is that while almost every team will feel the sting of this change, there’s a strong suspicion that certain teams are going to lose a much larger chunk of their performance than others.

According to the article, McLaren believes their whole strategy for closing the gap to Red Bull relies heavily on their engine mapping. With this new rule, that entire advantage could be completely wiped out.

We'll just have to wait and see how the teams manage to adapt this weekend. Who knows? Some of us might even find ourselves rethinking our predictions. 😬
I've been thinking about it, and honestly, the way they shut down Rubens last year was quite a decisive move, wasn't it? 😉

Everyone was making such a racket back in Valencia in 2008, wasn't it? Then suddenly, everything went dead quiet once Nakajima took out his rear wing during that first lap. At least then we could actually enjoy the race in some peace. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
steelmaker83 said:Come on, tell me—when you're watching a replay, do you already know the result or are you actually trying to stay in the dark?

Of course I don't know the result beforehand. 🙂
I didn't even know what happened in the last race (aside from knowing Sebastian Vettel was in the top three because I turned on the monitor while the press conference was still going on) until late that evening when I finally sat down to watch the footage. 🙂

I've been to Miami four times already, and honestly, I'd head back there in a heartbeat😉

darkmarlin16 said:well, honestly, given how F1 is looking right now, I think I'll skip the firefighter drills entirely😁

At the end of the day, everyone operates on their own internal compass. We all have our own unique set of values that guide our decisions and shape how we see the world. It’s just human nature, isn't it? 😉
Michael Lee4 said:Why's that? What's always popping up when there's a race on?🤔

This Sunday is looking incredibly packed, isn't it? If I'm not busy filming "1 vs 100," I'll be tied up with a fire drill. And if that doesn't happen, you might find me running through the woods near City Hall or maybe even organizing a little competition in a park over by the old castle out in the suburbs. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
