The real issue here is the risk of a power outage😬
And honestly, even if I were doing this on my PC, I wouldn't really want to leave it running for eight hours straight through the night, burning electricity for nothing just so I can record three hours of a show in the morning.🙂

Sure, you could set it to turn on automatically, but I wouldn't exactly trust it to work perfectly.🙂

Actually, no, there's only one. 😢

And yeah, we've actually got one race on Saturday and then another one on Sunday 🙂

Look at this season. Vettel would have bagged pole points 11 times, sure, but actually winning 9 races? Yeah, right. That’s a much harder mountain to climb. Meanwhile, the smaller teams might actually stand a chance at a win or a podium just by playing the tactics game better.😳

What if we just messed up qualifying entirely and had two races instead? In the first race, everyone starts based on the championship standings, and in the second, you start in reverse order based on how the first one finished.

You’d essentially have the same dynamic, just without all the headache of complicated qualifying strategies, wouldn't you?😉

stormybadger8 said:Qualifying would actually award points, unlike the race, where we'd be scoring all 20 drivers.

Winning 101 points isn't the same thing as grabbing 200.😉

Sure, there’d be some tactical nonsense about qualifying 10th just to make winning easier, which nets you 108 points. But that still doesn't guarantee you're leading the pack. If someone takes PP 100 and finishes 7th, they've got 120 points. Go ahead, try your little tactics—if that person hits 4th or 5th, they'll absolutely bury you in the standings.😉

EDIT: This idea is starting to sound pretty dumb.😁

What if they just held two separate races in a single day?🙏

I suspect this dominance is going to stick around until 2014. Once those new regulations kick in, that's when we'll actually see which teams have the real engineering grit to step up. Maybe McLaren or Ferrari will finally find their footing over the next couple of seasons, or perhaps Brawn will cook up something revolutionary behind closed doors. But as it stands? Red Bull is just untouchable, much like how Ferrari seemed to own the sport about a decade ago. 🙂

But hey, that’s just how it goes, right? Every era eventually reaches its expiration date. One day, the tide will turn. 😉

Oh, give me a break, seriously😲

That’s basically like saying half of Scotland doesn't exist☕

Singaporeans aren't even a thing, it's all just Chinese and Malaysian people over there

You're walking a pretty thin line there, darkmarlin16, a very thin line indeed... ☕

I'm a die-hard Formula 1 fan; I might wander off to check out other things here and there, but my heart is mostly with the sport. 😬

But hey, thanks for the heads-up. 😉

Is there anything more disappointing than watching a team simply mimic its rivals instead of pursuing its own technical breakthroughs?
For a powerhouse like Ferrari, one would expect a roster of engineers capable of pioneering original solutions rather than merely scavenging ideas from the competition.
One can only wonder what kind of ingenuity Red Bull Racing will bring to the table for the 2012 season; currently, it appears Ferrari is playing catch-up to everyone else when it comes to true innovation. 🤣
I can only hope that this pattern of "copying" doesn't result in a disaster similar to that time McLaren tried to replicate the Ferrari design.

I have to say, I don't think your point quite holds up. Is the pullrod really such a revolutionary concept that only Red Bull could conceive? It’s been around for years, if not decades—it's simply a matter of how it's applied in Formula 1.
Williams uses a pullrod system too, mainly because they needed to keep the rear end compact. Honestly, any team aiming to slim down their rear packaging is going to have to use a pullrod system. There isn't really a third option, is there?

In a few years, everyone will likely be using compact gearboxes similar to what Williams is running this year, and no one will be complaining about "copying" then. It's just the natural evolution of the race car. We saw it with exhaust designs, the bargeboards, the nose shapes, and so on...

Michael Lee4 said:Are you kidding me? What kind of legacy is that? You think having "drove for Ferrari" on your resume actually means anything? Look at the likes of Rubens Barrichello, Felipe Massa, or Max Mosley. Those aren't careers, man. Being a number two driver for Ferrari is just a fast track to being irrelevant. 🙄

Look, I'm not trying to start anything; it’s just funny watching the McLaren crowd act like they've been betrayed on every single level because of Button. 🤣🤣 🤣

steelmaker83 said:Do you have a link for the pull-rod info? They spent so much time bragging about that push-rod suspension setup before the season started...

They really doubled down on that single-keel design for a long time, even while everyone else was making the switch over to zero-keel suspension. Now, it seems like having it is just the standard default for everyone.😉
