American formula 1 driver Mario Andretti has been stripped of his license after being caught driving at high speeds in the United States, according to police reports released on Monday.
The Ford-Ferrari standout was caught by radar on Sunday afternoon while he was pushing his BMW way past the speed limit on the I-5 freeway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Following the incident, authorities ordered him to surrender his driver's license while a judicial investigation gets underway.
Local officials noted that while Andretti is looking at a two-month driving suspension in the US, it shouldn't have any impact on his ability to compete in the United States Grand Prix. 😁 😁 😁
whenever the Williams-BMW isn't performing, you really just end up with a BMW 🙏

What kind of tension are we actually talking about here? 🙂
silentpilot6 said:Did you guys actually realize how long the original—the old Talladega—used to be? 26 miles🙏 🙏 🙏 . That’s my question for you. Honestly, if only the higher-ups could pull off something like that again👍 .
It's just not possible. Not a single car would even finish a lap because the drivers wouldn't be able to memorize the track; it’s simply too massive, with over 150 turns...
Charles Martin78 said:Hmm... They’re going to need a seriously talented driver to pull this off... I find it hard to believe Williams would sell up...😁
Loooool, nice one. 😁
I highly doubt you're talking about Ralf. Poor guy, at the rate he's going, he might not even make it to the end of the season... unless Jean decides he actually wants two egos running the team at once. 😁 🙂
It honestly looks like Ferrari might only have a shot at an individual driver's championship this year... when you look at the constructors' standings, they are way, way behind right now...
To prevent hydroplaning, you really need a higher ride height on those speedboats, right? You’d also want more aggressive wing angles to maintain downforce, perhaps a more sensitive traction control system, and there's honestly a whole laundry list of technical tweaks I could go on about... but I just don't have the time to dive into all the specifics right now.

shadowtinker29 said:The damn Elizabeth Hughes just announced today that traction control, launch control, and those automatic gearboxes are staying put through at least the end of this season. In other words, the kids (Robotonen, Alonso, Button...) can keep sleeping soundly without a care in the world. It’s a bit of a letdown, honestly; I was really hoping we'd see some genuine, old-school racing starting from Silverstone onwards, but instead...😠 :2up:
Man, what a shame. That could have actually been a lot of fun...😢
