slycrane94 said:How can you be so sure you actually picked something up here? Even pros have a hard time being that certain, so it's a little weird seeing someone who isn't exactly a tech wizard claiming they know for a fact.
The link milkyway reported doesn't look suspicious at all. Either he flagged it by mistake or his antivirus just had a momentary meltdown—which happens more often than you'd think.
So, I fired up my laptop that day, spent maybe two hours scrolling through Facebook, and hadn't touched any torrents in days. I opened Reddit, my whole system froze up, and then this "police notice" popped up on the screen. Look, I'm all for believing in coincidences, but why the hell did they put it on the blacklist that exact same day? 🍿
Like silverpanther13 said, that crowd never is never meant to be a compliment, period. I seriously doubt anyone’s actually posting photos of real livestock here anyway—if someone actually kept a farm animal in their apartment, they wouldn't call it vermin, they'd call it a pet. Just a really cringey attempt at being funny.
That didn't do much for me when I caught that "police" virus, and it wasn't exactly comforting for my friend who got hit by it a few days later either. Look, we all knew why we were here. We know we picked up the virus, and honestly, we couldn't care less about pinpointing exactly who's to blame. Sorry, not sorry.

Every single time I clicked something, half the page was covered in junk, and once the malware started hitting, I finally said "enough." Honestly, Reddit was the first site that actually forced my hand to install AdBlock; I didn't even bother using it anywhere else before this. That's just how wild the advertising gets on here.

I’ve been online pretty much every day since 2007—well, more consistently than before—and I’ve wandered through plenty of corners of the web. But I didn't touch AdBlock until people on this forum told me I had to because the ads were getting progressively more obnoxious by the day. I never really noticed them on other sites, so they weren't a huge deal to me, and I haven't heard of anyone catching a virus from an ad anywhere else besides right here. 😬
So look, you’ve got two types here: one is those annoying bumps you can't even squeeze because they're just from sweating too much, and the other is just ingrown hairs. 😁
I haven't actually messed around with that first option yet. 😢
I don't think that's quite what we're talking about. It says right at the start that the breakouts are painful, huge, and located right near the anus, plus they're linked to ingrown hairs... I actually stopped reading there because the description just didn't match what I'm dealing with 😬
Look, I’m not saying we should start labeling everyone—unless they actually have the flu—as "sick," but you can't really put faith and sexual orientation in the same bucket. One is a choice you make, and the other... well, it isn't really up to you.
Is a dark-skinned person in America an anomaly? Is a white person in Africa an anomaly? And honestly, it’d be great if someone actually defined what "normal" even means. So much stuff gets shoved into that category just because of the era—like how Black people were labeled "abnormal" back in the day.
If you have a mental health disorder, you can't really live a full, happy life until you deal with it or—I don't know—suppress it somehow. So, if you view being gay as a disorder, then a gay person would either need to become straight or just pretend to be straight to cope. But the thing is, gay people can be perfectly happy just being themselves—without "fixing" anything (since there isn't a problem to fix) and without all that repression.
Jacob Chase42 said:Look, I don't know much about what John Newman34 is dealing with specifically, but from a scientific standpoint, there’s actually a distinction between a disease and a disorder.
Honestly, calling something a "psychological disorder" just feels like some fancy-schmancy way to say mental illness. If being gay is a psychological disorder (sorry, let's call it a *disorder*), then what's the actual code for it? If there isn't one, how can you even claim it's a disorder in the first place?
Some things you just can't pick up from a textbook, and when it comes to mental disorders, nothing is ever black and white.
I can't really give you any advice since I haven't even figured out my own breakout situation yet, but honestly? It’s probably just from all the sweat. 🙂
Honestly, it’s always better to just drop a direct link to the post instead of trying to describe which one you're talking about. Makes things way easier.🙂

But you aren't even going to see this post anyway since you've got me on ignore... : sigh :
Ever since you started posting on the main board, I've been muting you because honestly, seeing notifications that you posted in a thread only to find nothing there just gets on my nerves. It's harder to just skip past 😬
Anyway, back to the topic:
That whole "obvious" fix you mentioned would basically require a complete overhaul of the entire site. We're talking everything from the mods and sub-mods down to some of those (as people call them) "pointless purple" admins who don't really do much.
What’s even the point of a bigger inbox, a custom avatar, or a fancy signature when half the time I can't even load the site because of 503/504 errors—or worse, some malware? I wouldn't pay a single cent a year for this.
I’m on iOS, so getting Tapatalk running is a breeze, but honestly? I usually just stick to browsing the forum through Opera. It’s just easier. I grew up using those old Sony phones back in the day, so I guess I’m just stuck in my ways... 😁

I don't really get this part. If someone skips the rules and messes up, are the rules actually at fault, and so they need to be updated? 🤔
Reading through a PDF takes, what, three minutes tops? Even if they're super long (like those massive employee handbooks you see at places like Starbucks, but that's a whole other thing), anyone planning to actually hang out here seriously can handle that.
I’ve seen some PDFs where they don't even let you get away with basic stuff like "I agree," "+1," or "same here," and honestly? I think that's totally fair. You get so many people spamming nonsense that if they didn't have those rules, you'd end up scrolling through ten posts in a row that are nothing but a string of emojis.
