Jason Vaughn482 said:Oh, tell me about it. That is pretty much how I spend my days too—just idling away the hours, waiting for evening so I can finally drift off. For the last week, I’ve stopped adding Calixta to my routine and have managed to fall asleep using Sanval instead. Usually, I’ll wake up around 5:00 AM, take another 0.25 Xanax, and then snooze my way back to 9:00 AM. I honestly don't know how other people manage; I wake up feeling incredibly anxious, with this constant, gnawing knot in my stomach. Most days, I’d rather stay under the covers forever, but eventually, I have to force myself to get up and try to pull myself together.
I feel the exact same way about all my meds. I only wake up because I absolutely have to; if I didn't have stuff to do, I’d probably just sleep through the entire day on them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-medication—quite the opposite, really. It's just that I'm against taking the *wrong* stuff. You know, the kind that makes you feel even worse without actually fixing the underlying issue.
Jason Vaughn482 said:I couldn't agree more... I would also prefer nothing more than to just sleep through the effects. In my case, both my primary doctor and my psychiatrist actually listen when I request a specific medication—it doesn't happen every single time, but it does. Just recently, I asked for Prazin instead of Sanval, and while they granted it, it didn't do a thing for me, so I reverted back to Sanval. I might give Zan a shot eventually; perhaps a change of pace would be beneficial, as I find it increasingly difficult to drift off even with the Sanval.
I deal with some mild insomnia myself, but I try to stay away from meds as much as possible. Most of them just leave me feeling like my brain isn't even plugged in anymore. Even if I take Xanax—which works okay during the day—if I take it less than two hours before bed, I wake up feeling totally out of it. Dizzyness, depersonalization, the whole bit. Look, sleeping is great and all, but it's way better when you actually wake up and can function through the day. It sucks when you're just counting down the minutes until you can crawl back into bed because you spent the whole afternoon staring at a wall.😁
Kevin Bailey2 said:I’m curious again—why are you guys reaching for hypnotics to sleep instead of antipsychotics, or even just an antidepressant with some sedative properties?
Well, because someone handed them a prescription, I guess? In my experience, you don't exactly walk into a psychiatrist's office and get to pick which meds you want to burn through. 🤷
Personally, I’ve never touched hypnotics, but antipsychotics absolutely killed my drive for everything, just as much as antidepressants did. It wasn't even sleeping, really... I was just passed out, which (honestly) isn't really what anyone's actually aiming for.
I'm sorry, but it looks like your message was cut off. What were you trying to ask? Still hanging in there for me? 🙂
Cut those damn little details.
🤣🤣🤣 At least it’s a size 5. Small wins, I guess. 🤣
Honestly, those little dots don't bother me one bit. What actually gets under my skin are the people who find something to complain about in every single thing. Especially the ones fighting for their own little slice of the pie while simultaneously trash-talking stuff someone else actually cares about. It’s just exhausting. 😍🤣😂🤷☕
swiftbear86 said:It pays off for me because they’ll come back next time they need advice (once they realize I provide solid, accurate, professional info), and eventually, they’ll buy something or bring in prescriptions. And hey, maybe next time I can suggest something else that actually helps them out.😍
I'm really looking at this from the perspective of the entire pharmacy industry here; I'm not worried about my own specific shop.😉
🤣 I probably shouldn't say where this sentence is headed...🤣🤣
Look, I don't personally know anyone who goes to a pharmacy just to chat with the pharmacist—you know, someone who’s an absolute expert on everything. Anything they actually need to know about their meds, they get from their doctor. Maybe it's different somewhere else, but that's just how it looks from where I'm sitting.
Band-aids were just the first thing that popped into my head since I've actually got one on my leg right now, so I realized you were talking about actual meds 😉
To me, it just makes sense—if a drug is sold over-the-counter (and honestly, there aren't many of those left these days), then they shouldn't need some massive extra lecture beyond what's already printed on the box. I mean, I've bought tons of Advil, Tylenol, Excedrin, and stuff like that over the years and never once got a single recommendation at the pharmacy counter. Not even when I was buying things at 🤷 for the first time. And regarding you giving out advice... look, I get that it bugs you, but that’s only going to happen in really rare cases anyway. Like what Chris Cruz8 said above, people rarely walk into a drugstore without picking something up. But if we’re playing by those rules, then it wouldn't be worth your time to give advice to someone who asks about a supplement but can't take it for some reason (like St. John's Wort clashing with an antidepressant) and ends up leaving empty-handed.
swiftbear86 said:Where exactly did I "get worked up"?
At the end of the day, people are going to shop wherever it's cheapest. I work in a pharmacy, and I don't get any commissions. I earn my salary just fine, and personally, I’m against medication being sold in big-box retailers like Walmart.
Following the logic used above, I should be thrilled if I didn't have to sell laxatives, pain relievers, antihistamines, and stuff like that anymore. I'd get to stop dealing with people complaining about not having a bowel movement for three days, all while making the exact same money. 😁
Logic? I have zero clue how you jumped to that conclusion based on what I actually wrote. 🤔
You claimed big retail chains would undercut everyone by selling the same stuff at lower prices and that it isn't "fair competition." If that's not a complaint... I don't know what is. 🤷 Nobody sells anything without wanting to make a buck. If Walmart can sell something cheaper, it just means the prices everywhere else are, well, sorry, totally inflated. 😁
swiftbear86 said:Look, I’m talking about actual medication, not these general items on a list. You obviously don't need a medical degree to sell bandages, condoms, diapers, or toothpaste...😁 A pharmacy might order five boxes of Band-Aids, whereas a place like Walmart orders fifty boxes and gets a massive bulk discount.😁

Table salt is a food item, but that saline solution you mentioned in the glass bottle? That's registered as a drug, so the logic you're using just doesn't apply here! Selling and dispensing medication falls under an entirely different set of federal regulations that we have to follow strictly.
Honestly, they should just grab 50 units right out of the gate. It’d be a total no-brainer if the pharmacy just picked up two packs of something and walked away making enough profit to act like they sold 382. Pure math. 😬
I don't get why everyone's getting so worked up about someone trying to sell stuff at a discount during a crisis. Honestly, if you aren't the one owning the pharmacy or working on commission—and let's be real, that's pretty much how most people in pharmacies make their living—then what's the big deal? 😁Honestly, why do you even care if I moved 8 units or 68 today? Either way, the paycheck hits the same. 😉
I can't even pin down the exact moment in my life when I was at my happiest, because it always feels like it was just a few years ago. When I was 10, I’d look back and think how great it was being 5 and not having to deal with school. At 15, I’m thinking about how awesome it was being 10 and not dealing with high school. By 20... I guess I just get it 🙂
Honestly, there hasn't been one single stretch where I felt like, "Okay, this is officially the peak of my life." It’s easy to say that once you're looking back through a rearview mirror. Take my junior year trip, for example. I actually felt miserable for all three days—had a bout of gastritis mixed with some serious anxiety, and I felt like I was gonna puke the whole time. But now? When I think about that trip, it sounds amazing. We saw this, we went there, we danced there. Truthfully, back then I was just counting the minutes until I could get home and stop feeling nauseous, but now the nausea is gone and all I remember are the good parts. Same goes for early childhood.
Plus, whatever problems you're facing right now feel like the absolute biggest, heaviest things in the world. Looking back, it's easy to dismiss old struggles as trivial or stupid, but that doesn't mean they didn't feel massive while you were actually living them. Here's another example. You see those news stories all the time about some kid or teenager attempting suicide because of bad grades. The parents always give that same quote in the article: "Grades aren't the issue, why didn't they just tell us they failed a class? As long as they're alive, that's all that matters." And yeah, that's true, but it's also true that the kid might have been terrified of their parents or just didn't realize they had support, so they couldn't see any other way out. Maybe in ten years, if they hadn't grown up to be so intense, they would've laughed off failing a grade. Maybe.
What I'm trying to say is that it's tough to judge how happy or high-quality our lives actually are from where we're standing right now. Every stage of life comes with its own set of pros and cons, and it's hard to see the full picture until the moment has already passed.
swiftbear86 said:Actually, that isn't a decision made by Medicare, it’s more about how Halmed handled the drug's re-registration. Since this physiological saline is registered specifically as an infusion solution, you technically need a doctor's recommendation to get it.
Of course, if someone wanted to misuse it at home by using it as an infusion, they could.
But that's a different story—most people are just picking it up to rinse out their noses, throats, or wounds. De facto, a pharmacist could actually face penalties if they sold it without a prescription while it was still in its original packaging. That’s why you see pharmacies splitting it up into smaller bottles.
I’m pretty sure the big retail chains are going to drive prices way down, so really, we're looking at an issue of unfair and incompetent competition.
Look, if a pharmacy and a place like Walmart both pay the exact same wholesale price for a Band-Aid—say, five bucks—and the pharmacy marks it up to twenty while Walmart sells it for fifteen, I don't see how Walmart is the bad guy here😉. Whoever decides to gouge people on prices is going to get burned, and honestly, that's on them. 🙂
If a major retail chain can afford to slash prices, there's a pretty good chance a local pharmacy could do the same if they wanted to😉.
I'm probably just gonna stick to the pharmacy. It's right around the corner from me and honestly, it's just become part of my routine to grab stuff there. If they ever decided to shut their doors for some reason, I wouldn't sweat it—I'd just head over to a 🙂store like instead.
The Pets sub is a bit of its own thing, so certain topics are always gonna be off-limits, no matter how you spin them. On this forum, we pretty much push for neutering pets, and anyone who starts acting cocky about it—like you are right now—is just asking for a locked thread. It’s the same deal with ear or tail cropping. Since those practices were banned by US federal law, you can't even post pics of cropped animals here anymore, even if they were done before the ban actually kicked in.
Look, I'm not a mod, but I'm not blind either. Just look at your tone:
cut/ And please, cut out the nonsense like saying there's less chance of testicular cancer if you just take them out—that's not an actual argument, it's just straight-up insanity.
Pugs, please just read the original post. It’s like saying we should lock up innocent people just because they might commit a crime someday. Totally nonsensical and crazy. How would you feel if a doctor suggested you have your daughter get a mastectomy just because she might get breast cancer down the road? By that "logic," why don't we just rip out a dog's kidney so it won't get kidney cancer? Or maybe take all four legs so it doesn't run into traffic?
I'll say it again: what are the actual medical benefits of removing healthy organs from healthy animals? If my neighbor's son died from testicular cancer, am I supposed to go neuter my own son?
And then on the other side, a mod jumps in with a warning:
electricstag16, please stop talking down to people just because you don't like their answers or think they're wrong. That kind of attitude falls into disrespectful communication, and if you keep it up, I'm locking this thread..
So you get a warning, then a strike, then the whole thread gets nuked just like the mod said it would. Weirdest thing ever. ☕
Sticking to two liters of water a day, just like always. Since I’m basically holed up indoors most of the time, I don't really notice much of a difference. It’s hard to worry about heatstroke when the house stays pretty chill—I don't have AC, but the insulation is solid and I keep the blinds pulled down tight 😉. I don't feel any need to chug more than that, and honestly, forcing myself to drink extra just feels pointless . In my book, six liters is just overkill 🤷
I'm with Bradley Sanders4 on this one. Coconut is basically the place where you go to vent, mess around, and just talk trash—yeah, you heard me. Honestly, I’d be pretty bummed if this turned into some sterile corporate LinkedIn thread where everyone has to walk on eggshells when talking about celebrities or anyone remotely well-known. ☕
bluecanyon643 said:So, calling someone a total Neanderthal is somehow okay in your book? Seriously, what kind of actual facts did you use to justify that in your post?
By the way, there's a massive difference between having a negative opinion and just being straight-up abusive. I’d assume an admin or moderator would know the distinction.
So wait, let me get this straight. We can drop compliments like "he's a god" or "she's a queen," but if we say anything remotely critical other than "I don't like this," it's forbidden?
That wouldn't be a community, it'd be a sterile damn PDF. 😕
So where am I supposed to ask if I can just tell people "what the hell is your problem..." without getting slapped with a ban? Is there a spot for that? 🙂
It’s honestly ridiculous that you have to start a whole new thread for every tiny little thing.
melloworca6 said:And when you suddenly have a bunch of people messaging you saying they caught something or their PC started acting glitchy right after hanging out on the forum, is that also just everyone who was scrolling through Facebook, clicking every single link, and treating a software update like a free buffet? Or what? 🤷
Look, there are definitely people online who act like someone driving without protection and then act shocked when they catch an STD, but I honestly can't deal with this "it's all your fault" or "you're just too clueless to use an antivirus" attitude. It's exhausting.
Over the last couple of years, we've dealt with this ad bullshit at least four or five times. In fact, two or three times during that stretch, the forum ended up on Google's blacklist because it was basically being treated like a Trojan horse breeding ground.

Honestly, my only regret is that you can't put admins—even the ones who aren't actually "adminning"—on a block list, because I really don't have the patience to read this kind of nonsense. Day in, day out. 🙄
I know where I was, I know exactly what I was doing, and I know precisely when I picked up the virus. It happened in a split second. But no, it's not the forum's fault. It's Facebook, which two other people in my house were using on their laptops at the time. They have the same antivirus I do, and they didn't catch a thing. 🥳
Seriously, clicking on a friend's name, typing "hey, what's up?" and hitting enter can actually be lethal for your PC if you do it for two hours straight 🧐
It’s clearly just easier for you guys to troll and act like we're idiots than to admit you screwed up somewhere. 🥳
