Bad actors (A-list or close to it) in Movies ·
Jonah Hill. I can't even look at him. He’s got this vacant, glazed-over stare in every single scene of every movie he's in. It's like his characters just forgot to bring their personalities from home.🙄

I don't get it. How are they so weak? 🤷
They just aren't hitting the mark for you, or what?
Barack Obama juice in Random / Off-topic ·
I worked with 40 flowers in the recipe (actually 50 smaller ones) and used 40g of citric acid, while my neighbor used the exact same number of flowers but tossed in 150g.
The flavor profiles are pretty close... but what’s the actual difference? Why is using that much citric acid a bad idea?
Honestly, I have no clue, so I figured I'd ask. 🤷
No organs, no cancer? in Health ·
wanderingcobra76, thanks for the reply. You explained that really well. 😉

I feel like breast cancer awareness mostly stays within circles where women have actually seen it happen firsthand—you know, when it’s running through the family tree with grandmothers, moms, aunts, or sisters. It makes total sense that someone would want to get ahead of it after seeing the toll it takes on their own people.
In the States, I know those mammogram reminders come in the mail pretty regularly, but honestly, it seems like a lot of women just brush them off. People claim they're too busy, but let's be real—it's usually just excuses.

So, you're telling me it would have been better if she just sat around waiting for that breast cancer—which had an 80% chance of hitting her anyway—to go through chemo and radiation, and then maybe died after all that?
Typical CNN logic. It’s a shame she doesn't live in a small town in the Midwest where the whole village could hold a vigil over how tragic it is that she left her kids too young. 🙄

I actually had the chance to deal with a certain type of cancer myself. We knew exactly what we were looking at, the odds, everything. And honestly? I was a coward and opted for surgery right away. 🙄

I’m on Lindynette. My doctor sets up a digital prescription that lasts for six months, and at any local CVS, I can pick it up anytime from seven days before to fourteen days after my scheduled date—which is every 28 days. That gives you a three-week window, so honestly, I don't think it's that big of a deal to make the trip to the pharmacy once a month.
Btw, for my own meds, I actually have to get in the car and drive.

Took the pill and read through the instructions. Need to use backup contraception for the next seven days, then everything's back to normal. 😁

Thanks for getting back to me. 😉
I checked with the pharmacist earlier. She just said it varies from pill to pill and we’ll have to wait until the box actually arrives to know for sure. My doctor hasn't returned my calls, so I can't really count on her right now. 🙄
It’ll probably be fine, though my birth control might be a little less reliable for a bit...

Hey there.
I messed up. I was supposed to start my pack of Lindynetta last night, but it completely slipped my mind to pick them up. I’m heading to my local pharmacy this morning, but apparently, their shipment doesn't arrive until this afternoon. 🙂
So, what's the move? Should I just wait and start once they arrive, or should I just skip this month entirely?🙂

Let’s be real here. I’m about 80% sure they’ll just hand over a prescription after asking if you have any underlying issues like thrombosis or whatever... without even ordering blood work. So far, only one doctor (out of five who've written me scripts) actually sent me for labs. I ended up having to go to my GP and basically beg them to just send it over.🙄
By the way, there’s a general thread on pills here, and pretty much every other type too, so maybe take a look at what people are saying there.😉
Trash PDF moderation issues — again in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Just start a New Thread so maybe people can finally reach an agreement. 😉
By the way, I end up reading more garbage than I actually write (even though I once earned a tiny bit of credit toward a profile picture 🙂), but seriously, someone over there needs to get their act together. From photos of minors and random dressed-up girls who have nothing to do with the trash, to full-on personal info, you can find it all without any trouble... but it’s just not okay.🙄
The local clinics here aren't doing them, not even the county hospital or the Holy Spirit one. It took about a million calls and being transferred around endlessly before I finally found out they actually do it at the Vineyard hospital, so we'll just head over there to get it done.
Thanks for the reply.😉
Hey everyone!
Does anyone know where I can go in Washington, D.C. to get my B12 and folic acid levels checked via a serum test?
Also, what’s the actual process like—is it just a standard blood draw or something more involved?
My doctor wasn't really helpful; she just mentioned it's something we could get done somewhere in NYC.🤦
I'm going to try calling Holy Spirit, but I'm not sure about any other places.
Dialysis: How many of us are here? in Health ·
We’re looking at stage 4 kidney disease here. He’s been stuck at this level for about a year now. Every month, he has to go in for bloodwork—checking his creatinine, urea, potassium, sodium, phosphorus, the whole nine yards—and then his doctor tweaks his meds based on the results. He’s probably popping something like 30 pills a day. I can't help but worry his stomach is going to take a beating from all that.😲
Once the day comes where he actually needs dialysis, it’ll be hemodialysis. They haven't even brought up peritoneal dialysis to him, which is weird, considering they have posters for it plastered all over the Mayo Clinic.

Huge 🙂 thanks for starting this thread.
My dad’s been hovering right on the edge of needing dialysis for about a year now—just waiting to see if he can hold out a little longer—so hearing from people who have actually lived through it would be incredibly helpful.
Mainly, I'm wondering how brutal the physical adjustment to dialysis really is? I've heard stories that the body takes a massive hit during the transition.
The Descendants in Movies ·
Watched it the other night.
I really dig the soundtrack, and there's something interesting about the idea that living in paradise doesn't necessarily mean your life feels like heaven. The scenery is honestly stunning.
Klun was solid, too. I liked seeing that transformation; he isn't always playing the same old characters.
If they’d just tightened up the script or cut out a few of those tired clichés, this could have been a masterpiece. As it stands, it's just a good movie.

Got a little issue here.
I’ve been on Lindynette 20 for three months now. No spotting so far, and those breast twinges are actually coming from my stomach—my doctor says it’s got nothing to do with the pills. The only thing I’ve really noticed is that my skin has become way, way more sensitive. For instance, I’ll put on some moisturizer at night and feel my face burning for a good two or three seconds. It turns bright red.
And what's been bothering me for the last couple of days is this tiny bit of bleeding, just a dark brown streak on my daily liner. I’m not due for my period for another week. Has anyone else dealt with this? Could it be the pills, or is it something else entirely?
Adam Campbell5 said:I'm actually drinking this, Lyndinette—honestly, I can't believe it...
Is it just me, or did you get a sudden upgrade—and honestly, are you drinking twenty shots or thirty?
I’m switching to 30—I’ve been on 20 for about two and a half months now—and this spotting just won't quit... it's relentless.
Is your libido finally taking a permanent vacation? — honestly, can't say I blame you.
I have to ask—because curiosity is a habit I can't quite shake—what's actually on your mind?
My coagulation levels came back fine—same goes for the KKS and my liver panels. Everything seems to be holding steady for now.

Yeah, they've definitely filled out a bit. 😁
I'm on Lindynette 20 and it's alright for me. The only thing I've noticed is that my skin is more sensitive; it turns red way faster.
Anyway, I saw my doctor yesterday, and she thinks it's actually my stomach. She put me on some pills (Ranitidine) to take this month. I wonder if maybe my eyes might turn yellow, who knows. But I'm noticing I react to food more and more, so I don't think it's the birth control.

Hmm, that breakthrough bleeding should have stopped by now. Usually, it's just the first month or two. Maybe check in with your OB-GYN and see about trying something else.
Libido is fine, though I definitely need lubricant now. 😁

I’ve got these pains in my ribs too—like this sharp, stinging sensation deep inside, somewhere behind the ribcage... I can't even tell you where it's coming from, really. One minute it feels like it's in the front, then it shifts behind. It’s awful. Usually, I get a quick jab like this a few times a year and that's it, but now it starts up every single afternoon. Mornings are fine, but by the time I'm heading to bed, it's constantly stabbing at me. I’ve been taking Lindynette; I finished two boxes and I'm actually on a break right now because of my cycle. Even with the break, the stinging won't quit.
Heading to my primary care doctor tomorrow. I need to ask her what might be causing this. Maybe I should redo my liver function tests, even though they were perfectly normal back in February. 🤷
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
darkbear14 said:I kept things under control for years myself, right up until they spiraled out of hand. Then I was stuck dealing with unbearable pain and eventually had to go through surgery—which ended up being way more complicated than if I’d just handled it sooner. Honestly, creams won't do much once things hit an acute stage; radical issues usually need radical solutions. Just listen to the advice on this forum and read everything from the beginning. You'll probably be better informed than you are now. Wishing you and your dad all the best.

Thanks. I've already gone through the first ten pages and a few at the end. Everyone keeps mentioning those two specific creams. We'll give them a shot and see how things go.
