Audio issues on my PC in IT Support ·
Ugh, seriously? Now the sound is gone again... I went through the whole troubleshooting process, fixed everything up, and it actually worked for a bit, but now I’m back to square one. Total silence. What else am I supposed to try at this point?

Thanks a ton for getting back to me so quickly. I followed your instructions to a T, and everything is working perfectly now—no more of that annoying "yellow" warning icon showing up.

I’m running into the exact same headache. My computer just won't play nice with audio—it works for a little bit right after I reboot, but then everything just goes dead silent again.
From what I can tell, my system keeps throwing an error saying the GENERIC BLUETOOTH ADAPTER isn't working properly. Do you think I should try a clean reinstall of the
driver? And if so, where on earth can I actually find a reliable download for it? Thanks a million!
How do I request my old medical records? in Health ·
I need to track down some old medical records from back in '94. Does anyone know if they
still keep stuff like that in the archives, and what's the actual process for requesting them?

Thanks!
Lower back pain? in Health ·
So, my lower back completely locked up on me yesterday, and I ended up having to get a Voltaren shot just to deal with the immediate flare-up.
It didn't really do the trick, though. My doctor suggested I try some 400mg Ibuprofen instead, but honestly, it’s barely making a dent,
since I took one last night and another one first thing this morning.
Now I'm stuck in this annoying limbo—I can't decide if I should head back to the clinic for another injection or if I should just keep grinding through with the Ibuprofen.
The pain isn't exactly unbearable or anything, but it's definitely at that level where I can't even move around properly without a struggle...

Does anyone know what the typical price range looks like for antidepressants when you're paying out of pocket with a private prescription?

Can you tell me how much you ended up paying for the OP?
Gynecological issue - please help!!! in Women's Health ·
Just wanted to give you all a quick heads-up—I just got back from my doctor's appointment. As I strongly suspected, it turns out I'm dealing with a vaginal infection, which was caused by...
The infection is spiraling out of control. I ended up having to use some vaginal suppositories just to manage the symptoms, and I finally went ahead and got a full bacterial culture done to figure out exactly what kind of mess I'm dealing with. As for any other treatments? Honestly, I’m drawing the line there. Not happening.
I’m officially switching to a milder cream because the one I was using is just way too harsh for my skin. And honestly? I am firing my gynecologist immediately. I've had enough!

I ended up borrowing some cash from my sister, so I’m planning to call a private clinic first thing Monday morning to get myself scheduled. My cousin is being incredibly dismissive about her HPV situation, and honestly, it’s driving me nuts.
I’ve been trying to ask her all the right questions, but she just gives me these one-word answers like she couldn't care less. She actually had the nerve to tell me she’s "sure" it’s just a low-risk strain because of the warts she has, which is such a massive oversimplification—it doesn't work like that at all! Now she’s acting like even getting a proper type testing isn't worth the hassle... I'll keep you guys posted.
Gynecological issue - please help!!! in Women's Health ·
I heard some rumor that I can't even switch OB-GYNs until I've been with them for at least a year... I honestly don't know if that's true. Right now, I'm just trying to scrape together enough cash so I can go see someone privately instead.
The warts are external, so I’m not putting the cream inside, but god, the stinging is driving me absolutely insane when I apply it. I only got the stuff
about ten days ago.
What’s really starting to freak me out over the last few days, though, is that the tissue down there is incredibly swollen—it's actually visible to the naked eye—and it looks nothing right.
I haven't even touched the cream for the last couple of days.
Does anyone know how much a basic exam would run if I skip the Pap smear and the ultrasound?
Gynecological issue - please help!!! in Women's Health ·
Unfortunately, I ended up switching over to her practice around November, mostly because a close friend swore by her. Right now, I’m dealing with some warts and using Aldara cream while
trying to get my immune system back on track. Honestly, the whole thing has been such a massive money pit that I’ve had to put my private specialist appointment on hold for a bit.
I’m going to try to squeeze it in as soon as possible, though... I have a nagging feeling it might actually be a bacterial vaginal infection, so I was curious to hear how
other women handled dealing with that kind of situation.....
Gynecological issue - please help!!! in Women's Health ·
I totally forgot to mention—the discharge doesn't have any kind of smell and it’s completely white, so I'm pretty sure we aren't looking at trichomoniasis or some kind of bacterial vaginosis here...
Gynecological issue - please help!!! in Women's Health ·
Right around the same time I noticed those warts, I started dealing with this really strange discharge
(it’s not even leaking onto my underwear; it just stays trapped inside)
Since I struggle with yeast infections quite a bit, I was honestly more preoccupied with the HPV side of things.
When I finally went in for an exam, the doctor ran all the necessary tests for HPV,
but when it came to the discharge, she just brushed it off as pus and didn't offer any further explanation—she didn't even mention
a treatment plan. This has been dragging on for two months now, and she’s being incredibly dismissive whenever I try to
ask her about it. I’m following the prescribed therapy for the HPV, but the discharge hasn't budged,
and you can actually see the specific spot where the tissue is swollen and producing pus.
I am at my wits' end here. I don't understand why my gynecologist is completely ignoring my concerns,
not even suggesting something as simple as medicated suppositories...
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I've spent hours scouring the internet, but I can't find anything that explains
exactly what might be going on...
Hearing loss issues in Health ·
For a while now, I’ve been dealing with this constant, nagging sensation like my ears are plugged up—it happens multiple times a day—and honestly, it feels like my hearing has taken a hit too. I went to see my ENT, but all they could find was a slight septal deviation, and that was it. Nothing else. It is driving me absolutely insane because it just keeps happening, over and over. When I actually pressed them for an answer about why my ears feel so stuffed up, I didn't get a single straight answer.
I can't figure out if this is actually being caused by that deviated septum (even though it's supposedly minor) or if there is something else going on entirely.
What's going on with me? in Psychology ·
There could be a dozen different reasons why she’s feeling anxious, and honestly, you’re probably going to have to figure that out through trial and error on your own.
It’s really important to pay attention to when these feelings actually kick in. Is it tied to specific triggers, like maybe something happening at work?
Or is it more like generalized anxiety—that constant, nagging cloud that follows you around all day, where you can't even find a pattern? Like, imagine waking up on a quiet Sunday morning, sitting there with your Starbucks coffee and the newspaper, and suddenly feeling that chest tightness for no apparent reason.
In my experience, I think we tend to spiral when we lose our footing in life. Maybe some external circumstances shake your self-confidence, leaving you unsure if things are ever going to stabilize again. It’s that terrifying sensation that you’ve lost the steering wheel of your own life—like bad things are just happening out of nowhere, totally random and senseless, and there isn't a damn thing you can do to stop them.
Need a little help from the experts! in Health ·
Hey everyone!
My OB-GYN just handed me my results and told me I need to get these specific tests done ASAP:
-CBC, CMP, iron studies, liver panel, lipid profile, urinalysis, and coagulation tests
-A screening for pelvic issues via ultrasound
The thing is, she didn't actually explain *why* I need all this during the exam; she basically just ushered me out the door... is this standard if I'm starting birth control? Because she already wrote me the prescription for them, so I'm feeling a bit lost here.

Does anyone have any idea what these specific labs are looking for?

Thanks!
Dealing with low self-esteem in Psychology ·
When you talk about having a brand burned into your forehead, what are we actually talking about here? Are you referring to actual physical abuse, or just someone having rock-bottom self-esteem?
Honestly, you’re just like my mother. Don't take this personally—I talk to my own mom constantly too—but she acts like there isn't a single ailment in existence that she doesn't have. She pops pills like they're candy, spends her whole day complaining, and fancies herself an expert on every single one of her medical issues. Just like you, she can't stop talking about what hurts,
as if having some mysterious illness is actually a hobby for her. It feels like she hides behind being "sick" just to soak up attention and wallow in self-pity.
I have to say, your posts are something else; I’ve truly never seen anyone talk about themselves and their health this much!!
If my mom even knew how to navigate a computer, I don't know what we'd do!
I suspect there's a healthy dose of hypochondria at play here, though I have no clue what your psychiatrist told you. If I were allowed to add a diagnosis, I'd call it "homodolorosus"—you know, people who build their entire identity around their pain.
Living with my mother, I've learned that people like this are incredibly hard to change because it's become their whole lifestyle, but let's be real: people eventually get exhausted listening to nothing but your endless list of problems!!!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!
