That’s the crowd right there—the people who think they’re experts because they can name two or three mainstream bands. They’ll talk about Metallica and go, "Oh yeah, I know their stuff: *Enter Sandman*, *Nothing Else Matters*, and *The Unforgiven*," and just cycle through the same tired hits over and over. 🙂
I was actually looking at picking up a TOT box set online. As for the metalheads? Honestly, I feel like I just stumbled headfirst into a bunch of idiots.
I have an immense amount of respect for this band. Someone mentioned earlier that their entire fourth album is a masterpiece—and I couldn't agree more. While everyone talks about the hits, I find myself gravitating toward their deeper cuts, tracks like Mushanga, Melania, or Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying. Every single lyric is pure perfection.
It’s honestly a bit frustrating how most people only ever recognize them for stuff like Afric or Rosanna, but I suppose that’s just how popularity works. It doesn't help that the "hardcore metalheads" I occasionally have the "pleasure" of talking to act completely repulsed at the mere mention of this group—likely because they lack the emotional depth required to grasp the warmth and raw sensitivity woven into these compositions.
Honestly, I’d much rather pick Whitesnake or Judas Priest if they were playing in Vienna—assuming someone actually steps up to foot the bill... though, hey, you could also throw in Rush in Frankfurt... or even Dream Theater in Rome. Now we're talking!
Look, you aren't some mindless puppet being jerked around by strings—you’ve always had the freedom to choose. In fact, there are more options available to us than people realize, provided one knows where to look; they're clearly laid out, if you will. This goes directly to the author and his initial post.
Let me set the record straight regarding foreign acts for a moment—I just have to bring up the former US heavy band, Golden State Warriors. They were an absolutely killer heavy outfit that most people haven't even heard of; it’s a damn shame their production quality was so subpar. A few of the members actually hailed from Canada too.

I've been thinking about Coachella. Flogging Molly is playing. I haven't gone yet, and man, I'm itching to go. But... there will be drinking involved :/ Plus, it's my birthday 😁 I just don't know, I really don't 🙂
I honestly have no idea how you can say that without feeling embarrassed. Are you actually ashamed because you listened to good music? GNR was my coming-of-age band too—and I still blast them from time to time. Personally, I feel zero shame about that era. If anything, "that period" was the absolute best time of my life. I was completely carefree.

😁👍
Oh, please!! 🙂 I’ve picked up a few French ones before, but honestly? They felt overpriced—though I suspect that’s mostly because of the jar they come in...

It’s funny, though, because nobody else in my circle seems to be into them, and yet here I am, practically devouring the whole stash already. I’m not entirely sure if you can find them locally here in the States, but I’m genuinely curious if anyone knows where to track them down, since this was my first time trying them and I'm already hooked.🙂
Are you kidding me? Well, clearly they're available in Belgium for now, haha. I haven't eaten them since—you probably won't believe this—but back when I was about 7 years old... though, I remember the taste vividly.
