So, I’ve currently got Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit running on my main HDD. I'm looking to grab some files from an old HDD that’s still running Windows XP Professional sp3 32-bit and move them over to the new drive. If I just plug the old HDD into my PC case, am I going to run into any major conflicts? Or will the system just give me a choice of which OS to boot into, letting me just jump into Windows 7 and browse the old files like normal?
Is there any other way to handle this without all the hassle of swapping drives? I really want to avoid pulling out my new HDD just to plug in the old one to wipe the OS, then swapping them back and forth again just to get the old drive in there without the OS getting in the way. 😵

I'm looking for some recommendations on a budget-friendly monitor. I need something with a 16:9 aspect ratio, roughly 19" to 20" in size—so I don't really need full HD resolution or anything fancy. My old Samsung 730 BF is basically on its deathbed at this point. The green LED just keeps blinking, and it takes a few minutes after my PC boots up before an image actually shows up on the screen. To top it off, the menu button won't even bring up the settings. I've checked the cables and they seem fine, so it's definitely the monitor itself giving up the ghost.
I went with "it depends on the name." To me, names really matter during those preschool and early elementary years, mostly because kids can be pretty relentless when they find something that isn't "normal" or common to tease someone about. Is there any way to make my desktop icons look translucent or blurred, kind of like how hidden files appear? I’ve been digging around on Google, but everything I find just points to that Registry tweak for adding shadows via ListviewShadow, which isn't really what I'm going for.

I’m looking to pick up a new printer by $117. I'm torn between grabbing an all-in-one inkjet or just sticking with a black-and-white laser. I don't actually print that much—maybe around 50 pages a month—though I might occasionally need to print something in color. I know that makes a laser less than ideal, but I only mentioned it because those cheap laser printers look so tempting. 😁
Or if you guys have any better suggestions, I'm all ears. My main priority is being able to find affordable third-party ink easily.
Also, I was wondering how the ink setup works on the Epson SX130. From what I can see, it uses separate cartridges for black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. If one of those colors runs out, does the whole thing stop working, even for basic black-and-white printing?

The only thing really jumping out at me right now is the MSI GTX 460, which seemed to fit my budget perfectly ($360 over at Micro Center), but they're totally out of stock everywhere at the moment. So, I'm hunting for an alternative that hits similar performance levels—ideally something with 1GB of VRAM and at least a 192-bit bus. If I could snag something with a 256-bit bus like that GTX 460, even better. Otherwise, I guess I might just have to sit tight and wait for the GTX 460 to show up in stores again. 🤷

I've been browsing Newegg lately, and it looks like the NVIDIA GTX 460 is basically impossible to find right now—or if you do find one, the price tag is just insane compared to everything else.
Does this mean shipments have dried up completely? I'm wondering if I should just hold out for prices on the NVIDIA GTX 560 to drop by the end of the year, or if I'm stuck settling for an NVIDIA GTS 450 or even the NVIDIA GTX 550 (heaven forbid I end up with something from Bill Gates). Does anyone happen to have any actual insight on this?
