Nathan Jones98 said:Look, Ferrari is solid enough to finish races and the car is pretty reliable—probably the most dependable one on the grid
but, raw speed is a whole different beast entirely
what's the point of constantly grabbing points if you can't actually win? —just look at Kimi

It seems clear that Ferrari and Fernando Alonso have opted for reliability. They've built a car capable of hitting the podium on almost any circuit. It isn't specialized for specific tracks—unlike how Red Bull targets places like Valencia or Singapore—but clearly, this strategy of picking up points everywhere is working.

And it's working so effectively that over the last six or seven races, Fernando Alonso has maintained a steady thirty-point lead over his closest rival.
Move of the season, without a doubt.

Pushing it like that on a street circuit, and then managing to catch a car that’s dancing all over the track... with only a few inches of breathing room left... even the most elite drivers wouldn't dare attempt that. 🙏🙏🙏

It’s a bit depressing, isn't it? Knowing he’ll probably dominate qualifying again at the next race. 🤦
Brian Campbell36 said:What on earth is going on with the engineers at Ferrari? Are they somehow "weaker" at solving aerodynamic issues compared to the competition at Red Bull Racing and McLaren, or what exactly is the problem here?

They have been trailing behind those two teams for quite some time now. I simply cannot wrap my head around how a powerhouse like Ferrari can spend such an extended period lagging behind its rivals. It makes me wonder if hiring at Ferrari is based more on nepotism and family connections rather than actual technical expertise. 🙂

Looking back at the last five races, we’ve had a competitive car in three of them. 🤷
Jessica Gonzalez said:I guess Fernando Alonso didn't really do anything special today; he just drove a bit safely to stay near the front without actually making any real attempt at winning. To me, both Vettel and Hamilton seem like stronger title contenders right now. Seven races is a long time, and if he has just one bad retirement—which seems likely—all those points might just vanish.

Like I said... 2x15 > 1x25. 🙂

Webber and the tactics 🤦
Hamilton 😢
Pastor Maldonado 🙂
Alonso 👍 is honestly just too lucky 🙂 the guy needs to go play the lottery or hit the casinos and quit messing around with Formula 1; he'd make way more money there... seriously, how much luck can one person have? It's insane... he should just take the win and run 😁

And nobody even realized that Glock basically drove a race worth millions of dollars 🙏
Marussia actually jumped ahead of Caterham in the standings 😲

It’s obvious you aren't familiar with the concept of a "brake test."

I'd suggest Google. 🙂

I'm not going to rush to judgment here. We really need to look at that controversial situation from a few different angles.
What’s the word? Is Vergne looking at a penalty?
crimsonstag84 said:Hamilton 0-25-0-25-0 🤦 😢

So, he'll probably pick up some points next time, but honestly, just way too much stuff keeps going wrong for him...

Timo Glock 12. 🙏

Alonso's math suggests 2x15 > 1x25.

👋
Third place is worth a third title.

My God, what a driver! 🙏🙏🙏
She’s famous for believing "the end justifies the means"...

The race was a total bullseye; we’re closing in on the final goal. 🙂

While Hamilton, Raikkonen, and Vettel are busy fighting over second place, we’re sitting pretty with a comfortable lead.

Nice, nice. 👋
Robin Reyes3 said:Let's hope the forecasts hold true and Pastor Maldonado manages to take out Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel at Turn 1, though I have my doubts. Honestly, I think a kamikaze move from Takuma Sato would have been a much more effective strategy—it’s a shame he isn't on the grid anymore! 😁

That isn't just a forecast. It’s a very real possibility. 😁
Raymond Anderson4 said:Button is complaining about how things went down at the end... I think that might kill any chance of a McLaren 1-2.

It seems like Jenson Button finds something to complain about during absolutely every single qualifying session. 😁
Jason Campbell70 said:Poor Lewis Hamilton

They just don't have a clue! 🙂
LOL, qualifying kicks off at 3:00 PM.

I spent about twenty minutes frantically flipping through channels and streams myself. 😁
They just used X-rays on Webber's car to check for cracks in the front suspension components.

Let's go!👋
Jerry Rogers6 said:I think I heard they actually reverted back to the settings from the last race

and parts of it are redlining:

"Ferrari have so far not appeared to have the pace to challenge for pole position here but Fernando Alonso was as quick as anyone in the race-simulation runs on Friday. The team introduced a big upgrade package here, but it seems they abandoned the new rear wing - Alonso took it off halfway through the second session on Friday and it is not on the car again for this final session either. Having a new aerodynamic part that does not produce what they expected is a recurring theme at Ferrari and the team admitted it was 'a bit of a concern'."

And Red Bull is swapping stuff out too, isn't it? 😕

Red Bull has a modified front wing, plus an updated floor and diffuser.

Once again, they were solid in both Monaco and Valencia.

I have my doubts about today. Tomorrow? Now, tomorrow I might expect it.
