With a third of our competitors essentially checking out and refusing to submit their picks, this Championship needs much more than just some superficial—and frankly pointless—rule tweaks.

As long as the Championship (and all our other forum contests) continues to be run the way it has been, we’re never going to have a legitimate competition with a level playing field and unbiased officiating.

feralotter2 said:Honestly, if you look at the rest of the guys fighting for the title—Lewis, Fernando, and Sebastian—it’s hard to tell which one is more washed up than the others.

I know. 🙂
Sebastian Vettel is a legend, Lewis was pretty lackluster until... last season, and Fernando hasn't been at his best since he joined Ferrari.

Just giving some commentary for ABC.

Yes. The right cascade on the front wing snapped, likely from contact with Mass at the start.

The exact same part took the same kind of hit during this year's Spanish GP, yet it didn't seem to slow him down one bit.

Either they both end up in a wreck, or the other driver gets forced right off the track just so Maldonado can stay ahead.

Is that so?

stormybadger8 said:And in the end, those two near-double champions were just bullying Mark Webber.🙂🤣
Six of them bullied a guy who was almost a seven-time champion...
Nine of them bullied a near-British champion, and four bullied a near-Finnish one.
Seven of them bullied an almost American champion.

Essentially, this whole race was just a masterclass in bullying "almost" champions.😬 🤣

If that helps soothe your soul even the slightest bit... then I guess I'll agree with you. 🙂

Just say the word.

But don't lose hope. Just look at us.
Consistently failing to make Q2, finishing around tenth... and that's assuming our lead driver actually performs. Our second driver? A complete joke during the first half of the season.

Our second driver managed a top-tier fourth place today, while the second Red Bull driver sits third in the overall standings. 🙂

Still skeptical?

Didn't I mention something about the dynamic between Vettel and Webber at the start of the season? Something about how evenly matched they were and the whole EBD situation?☕

What a disaster that Vettel turned out to be.🙏🙏🙏

Sebastian Vettel has a broken right cascade.

and

Hamilton will bring it back.

In the final commercial break, naturally. ☕

And I wouldn't go so far as to say this season's Barcelona looks any different than it did during previous races at that track. 😁

You're thinking clearly enough, but your execution is lacking. 😁

placidsurfer9 said:They have better suspension, but this is really about weight, aquaplaning, and how much water the tires displace... When does advanced suspension actually matter? Under what specific conditions? You can't be lightning-fast on dry pavement if you're also supposed to be perfect in the rain... you know, the suspension is built to work with aerodynamics and high speeds... Once those factors drop, they might actually be slower in the rain than an older car... What I’m trying to say is that maybe the weaknesses of those old cars on dry tracks were actually an advantage when things got wet, compared to today... mass and all that... I just think there are too many variables we don't fully grasp or can accurately predict... Besides, why does MotoGP race under certain conditions while F1 doesn't? That seems like a question that should have a clear answer.

It seems obvious that modern F1 cars are faster than the old ones, especially when it comes to "holding the line." Even in the rain.

So, we have a faster—and therefore better—car, yet unlike the slower cars of the past, today's machines stay off the track for various "reasons."

Of course, I'd be more than happy to share my take and prove it by comparing lap times from then versus now, but I just don't have the data right now.

darkmarlin16, just imagine the absolute chaos if Lewis Hamilton takes the win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway while Murray clinches it at the US Open.

Did that car with DRS enabled just pull a move on the Cheetah?

Or did the Cheetah just hit some serious tire degradation?

Commercial break - 3 minutes.

Missing out on that battle for first place—and witnessing such a flawless maneuver—is just priceless.

Edward Howard2 said:But let's be real... he saw Alonso right on Lewis Hamilton's tail and decided that was just the perfect moment to run some commercials... 😂

Did he seriously think Lonzo and the producer would just sit there waiting for the ads to finish before letting him overtake Hamilton? 🤣😂

Well, look on the bright side. At least they didn't cut to a commercial break right before the showdown between Jenson Button and Felipe Massa.

And besides, the screen went black then anyway, so we wouldn't have seen that either. 🤦

When Felipe Massa was sitting in sixth during one of those previous races, I maintained that the championship was already ours.

And now, Felipe Massa is making a serious charge for third. ☕
