Don't like my spelling? 🙂

I see it took you a moment to catch on.

Brake testing?

Oh, my dear American.

It would be nice.

A textbook case of projection. 🤣

Brian Campbell36 said:I’m honestly hoping Mercedes-AMG pulls out of Formula 1 the moment things start sliding downhill. Maybe then you can finally show some backbone and quit posting on this forum altogether. 👍

In all likelihood, though? It seems much more probable that Mercedes-AMG isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Which means you'll just keep dealing with that constant sense of frustration and inadequacy for a long time to come. 🙂

The only people waking up at 7:10 AM are Mercedes-Benz fans watching yet another predictable win in this Formula 1 circus.

Just catch the Formula 1 highlights at 9:00 PM and call it a day. Honestly, MotoGP surpassed Formula 1 ages ago when it comes to actual track excitement—you never know who’s taking the checkered flag until the very end.

"Bark bark, I'm not playing with you guys."

😂

Hopefully, they'll boycott the forum discussions just as much. 👍

No need for thanks. I'm just here to help out and shed some light.

At 7:10.

Sean Barrett35 said:6:10 (obviously wrong)

6:10 is for people who haven't adjusted their clocks yet. 😁

Here we go again with this expert, whose whole mantra during most of last year's races was just "I hope Hamilton crashes."

So, genius, after all that whining about how Mercedes cheats by burning oil, the FIA's inspection actually found that it's Ferrari who's cheating, using a special oil tank designed exclusively for extra combustion.
Illegal oil burning—Ferrari has been caught red-handed.

Well, Einstein, with Mercedes looking even stronger and Red Bull closing in on Ferrari, you're going to have even more to moan about this season.
It's people like you that make me so eager for the season to start.

And what’s going to happen when even the Red Bull Racing cars start outsmarting him? 🍿

If last season taught us one thing, it’s that taking pole position is the biggest factor in winning. Of course, in a situation like today, it's usually Lewis Hamilton sitting on that pole.

Everything went exactly as expected today—right according to the predictions—aside from that disaster from Vettel.

It wasn't about bravery.

I don't recall hearing statements quite like that back at the end of 2012.

stormybadger8 said:Bet on Ricciardo (or maybe Max) while you still have the chance.😉

Lujo is playing mind games, which is a dead giveaway that Red Bull actually has some pace...
I see Lujo over there whining about how much he fears Max, claiming Max is his only real threat, and now rambling about how Max absolutely crushed Ricciardo last year...
As if that wouldn't totally mess with Ricciardo's head...

Red Bull clearly looks fast if Lujo is already trying to play psychological warfare with their drivers.😁
And let's be real, Lujo isn't stupid. He knows Ricciardo is the actual threat because he’s consistent. Sure, Max could take him down—and probably do it brilliantly—but Max is still pretty green. There's a massive chance he'll just smash into someone at the next race, and then Lujo is back in the driver's seat.

So, the smartest move for Lujo is to stir the pot and get those Red Bull drivers to turn on each other and fight over points.

Even during Ferrari's golden era, we never heard anything like "We're going to stroll our way to a title."
And certainly not from Mercedes-Benz... Toto and Lewis were busy "respecting the competition" even when they had a car two seconds faster than everyone else. 😁

stormybadger8 said:It really just comes down to how much credit goes to Newey versus how much goes to Prodromou...
If I recall correctly, Newey was mostly preoccupied with yachts and the America's Cup back then, so isn't it possible Prodromou was the one who messed things up rather than Newey?

Prodromou handled the aerodynamics, sure, but Newey was his boss—the guy with the final say on the design and the ultimate sign-off.
The real culprit here was Ford, not those two.
They deserve the credit for helping Red Bull (meaning Richard) pull off three wins with an engine like that.
Even if, during pre-season testing, they were getting sliced through by opponents like a hot knife through butter.

mellowtiger83 said:Newey definitely isn't the most successful designer in history—maybe in recent years, but certainly not overall!

Then who is? Who else could it be besides a man who secured championships with three different teams over a twenty-year span?
Not to even mention the rest of his career.

mellowtiger83 said:What’s with this sudden McLaren meltdown? Did they just get blindsided out of nowhere? Stoff put in 110 laps and Alonso is still out there grinding. Bravo, I guess.

And all that with a burnt engine cover. They certainly seem confident.

mellowtiger83 said:And what about those qualifying laps then? Who actually knows their fuel loads or what engine mode they were running?

McLaren is going to be flying in Australia. Mark my words. The car looks absolutely lethal on track—that's what the insiders are saying, specifically Anderson, who clearly has some sort of inside track.

Besides, we won't really see the true picture until the next test session when they start simulating race stints and all that.

Gary Anderson is a complete fool. He’s been peddling nonsense and publishing totally wrong theories for years now.
In short—he's a total clown.

But that doesn't apply to Tim Goss or Peter Prodromou.
I don't doubt them, especially the latter.

It's similar to what I said about Mercedes...
They have a great driver, they have a great aerodynamicist, and if the engine holds up—McLaren will be fighting for podiums.

(In that scenario, Red Bull will be fighting for wins, but that's a different story entirely.)

Gerald Patel said:Everyone here seems so baffled by how smoothly all these engines are running lately. Honestly, just look at the temperatures we’re seeing outside; you couldn't ask for better cooling if you tried. Even a high-performance Honda isn't breaking a sweat when it's sitting just a few degrees above freezing.

And maybe the more important point is that we're already in the fifth season of this engine concept?

Back in 2014, it was the exact opposite. Everyone was dealing with overheating issues, big and small—so bad they actually had to cut vents into the bodywork.
And even then, the outside temperature was lower than what we're seeing at any race right now.
