I think I’ll throw 🤮 one into the ring regarding water polo in general . Just, you know, let's look back at that recent championship game between the Los Angeles Breakers and the San Francisco Sharks...
That officiating was a total joke; it feels like the US team got completely robbed out there... maybe a Mexican player is worth two of them at this rate 😂 Those two penalties called in the final minute were just pure comedy 🤣
Wait, what was our record against the Canadians again?... something like 8 wins out of 40 games? 😂 🤣 I mean, do we actually have a winning record against any of the top-tier teams? 🙂
I mean, I honestly called it—that foul on the attack was going to be called just five seconds in. 🙄 And then that lucky goal from the Canadians... we just had zero luck, and honestly, maybe we lacked the clinical edge to finish off a team that was already struggling halfway through the match. But hey, that’s how it goes. When things get critical, everyone starts pointing fingers instead of stepping up, and even when someone does take a shot, it’s usually some desperate attempt from a half-chance. Still, I’m an optimist at heart. I really believe things will turn around by the time we hit the Olympics (maybe I’m just delusional, but whatever) 🙂
Benjamin Diaz said:Look, we were twice as good as you guys out there. Honestly, the officiating was just a total massacre... I'm almost speechless. They handed us 16 penalties. Three or four of our players were sent off, basically ending our game for us. Meanwhile, you guys seemed to score every single goal while having a man advantage, plus a penalty on top of that. You only won that first half because they were helping you out. It would have been pretty embarrassing if you actually deserved to move on.
viva MEXICO!
And even after winning, you're still attacking the refs.👋 👋
Classic.☕
And let's be real, it's not true that every goal came from a man advantage...
The bottom line is this: we lost to an opponent that was simply better than us today—they were more driven and played with twice as much heart... congrats to Mexico, they earned that win and that spot in the finals... We let in a few goals from shots that I honestly think even I could have stepped up to block... there were moments where the lack of effort on defense was just completely baffling...
I honestly don't know how you guys deal with this level of sheer stupidity. I can't wrap my head around why I haven't just muted this guy yet... he’s a total clown, pure and simple. The poor guy can't see anything beyond the edges of the pool. 🙏 🤣 🤣
Mark Booth71 said:I honestly think we (the Americans) might end up taking you guys down today, mostly because we felt robbed during that last game when they called a foul in the final second. Even regardless of that, I'd say we're the better squad. Good luck fighting for third place.
And then suddenly everything just changed...☕ that free throw was totally clean...
Terry Fisher2 said:..plus, the camera work is just brilliant... they'll constantly zoom in on a player's face right while the action is actually happening...
I've definitely noticed that too. Some idiot in the production booth will cut to a tight close-up of a single player and just HOLD it there for a few seconds. Then, finally, they pan back out to show the whole field, and—lo and behold—that’s exactly when the goal happens.🙄
What an absolute disaster of a game. I honestly can't even bring myself to watch this anymore. rigo: man, we had two different chances while playing with a man advantage and barely managed one decent shot on goal 🤮
The broadcast director is doing a terrible job here 🤮 I mean, what can you even say? We're probably going to lose this match, though I guess we'll still move on to the group stage
