Michael Newman50 said:Aren't they always like that?

Yeah—but sometimes they really take it to a whole new level.🙂

Michael Newman50 said:I’d also add parents pushing strollers—honestly, I’d rather get run over by a tank.😠

And then they wedge themselves into a packed bus, camping out right in front of the doors and refusing to budge even though their stop is miles away. 🙂Whenever my mom sees people acting like that, she always hits me with the "I used to carry you in my arms just to get us on the bus" line.😍

Here are the top 3 reasons I seriously considered buying a bazooka and two angry Dobermans today:

1. Dealing with government offices that close at 1:30 PM, even though I didn't roll up until 1:45 PM. 🙂 🙂 Seriously—the sheer incompetence of federal agencies and their "operating hours"

2. A massive transit delay out in the suburbs, which forced me to sprint across a busy boulevard toward a bus while cars were practically trying to mow me down.

3. People on public transit who are just... indescribably moronic.

The result? That knee pain I’ve been dealing with has spread to my entire leg, so now I'm officially limping my way through life. 🙂 🙂

Top 3 things I heard blasting outside yesterday:

1. Einsturzende Neubauten
2. Big Black
3. Nitzer Ebb

🙏 🙏 🙏

Honestly, Big Black should’ve taken the top spot—but based on the setlist, ENB definitely earned that #1 position.

And a special gold medal for playing Mizar with Goran as the lead vocalist—while Goran #2 just sits at the bar with the rest of the band. Listen and learn :2up:

Jay Gatsby 🙏

My junior year English teacher—was that eleventh grade? I can't quite remember... 🤔 So, she asks me which literary character was my favorite this year—I didn't even hesitate, just blurted out Jay Gatsby! And her response? "I KNEW IT!" 😁

Hugh Grant, plain and simple.

vividharbor38 said:You’ve even got Wild World on the piano—sounds like it crawled straight out of Boatman's Call.😍

I just dug out those two versions of Home from a stack of Cave CDs that I still haven't even gotten around to listening to. 😳 Eh, it’s a far cry from The Birthday Party—but honestly? It’s still pretty damn good. 🙏 😍

vividharbor38 said:Go search Soulseek for some user called stag's cousin. That guy has every single bootleg you could ever want.

Thanks! Thanks! 😁 I'm looking for... 🙂

vividharbor38 said:I grabbed that clip from Rowland's site too, but I’m actually talking about his solo piano version of Dead Joe. Just hunt down a bootleg online—it’s totally worth it.😉

Dead Joe on piano 🤔 skidati !! 😍

vividharbor38 said:Anyone else... has anyone actually heard how he performs dead Joe during his solo shows? 🤣

I managed to grab a clip online from a show where Rowland S. Howard joined Bad Seedsima for Wild World and dead Joe. Just a quick snippet—the audio and video quality are pretty rough 😁 😍

dmj said:I know he didn't write it, but his performance is hands down the most convincing version out there. Besides, I’ve always been obsessed with Licking against The bricks—yeah, I went there, couldn't help myself... 😁—and it honestly sucks that nothing from that album even got a nomination.

Muddy Water 🙏 🙏

Angela Booth said:The show wrapped up early because—from what I heard from the crew working the venue—Manson ran out of breath. They actually had to hook him up to oxygen. He didn't even walk out of the rock concert arena on his own; four elderly women had to practically carry him out since he couldn't even stand up...

Some guys from Germany who seem to be following the tour told us before the show started that it would only last about an hour and fifteen minutes.🤔

Ugh, if I’m actually being forced to pick a side:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds: Cabin Fever!
The Birthday Party: Swampland Quote

[User Name] says:
So... anyone else here either absolutely worship or completely loathe The Birthday Party?
I’m only asking because that whole era of his—well, you could almost call it completely forgotten at this point...

I’ve already been called out—unintentionally, mind you—on like five different occasions for claiming that The Birthday Party is my all-time favorite band. 🙂 😍

Man, I'm still kicking myself for missing Sonic Youth the last time they played a show here.😢

David Sullivan4 said:When I first saw Sonic Youth live, I honestly felt sick to my stomach—like I was actually going to throw up. Everything in my gut was just churning.

Later on (or maybe earlier), they were talking at The Rhythm and Heroin about how people regularly experience that exact sensation at their shows, and apparently, they think it's part of the whole vibe. 🙂

😁

I seriously couldn't believe my ears when a DJ dropped Sonic Youth during a set at The Fillmore once. I thought I was straight-up hallucinating. 😲 It was the middle of summer and the crowd was super thin, so the guy was basically just catering to whatever weird musical cravings people had. 👏

We had been begging for some Nomeansno, Big Black, Ministry, or Black Flag... and the guy actually played them. Just like we asked. 🎉 Since there weren't many people there, you could jump around and lose yourself without worrying about slamming into someone or getting knocked over. It’s such a great feeling because, more often than not, I end up being the only girl trying to "dance" to these kinds of bands, which leads to all sorts of awkward situations. 🙂

Found it:

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."
