F1 Belgian GP - Spa-Francorchamps in Formula 1 ·
Lewis loves diving down the inside and forcing his way through, acting like everyone else is just obligated to get out of his way. Well, he finally got exactly what was coming to him!🙏😍🙂👍🙂

Kimi Räikkönen is out! He's done! There's just no way Lewis Hamilton can win championships driving mid-tier cars. You need someone like Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, or maybe Robert Kubica to make that happen. Honestly, props to Lewis; I had a feeling he'd push Kimi Räikkönen out the door once the rain started hitting the track. At least Felipe Massa managed to limp across the line. Nick Heidfeld really made the most of the wet conditions, slicing through the field to grab third. It was an incredible drive by Sébastien Bourdais, too—this definitely secures him a seat in Formula 1 for 2009.🙂
FOR THE MOTHERLAND!!!!!!!!! 🙏🙏

He’d likely face a lifetime ban, at the very least.👎

The entire British Press would be up in arms, just like they are now defending him. And I can only imagine how much that clown James Allen over at NBC would have lost his mind!😠

Huge props to Robert Kubica! Finally, a win for BMW. I bet Ron Dennis is absolutely eating his words right now.
And what was Hamilton doing? How on earth did he miss the red light? He was moving way too fast—if Kimi hadn't been there, he would've pulled out of the pits and faced an immediate disqualification!

Huge congrats to Robert Kubica!!!! Now the Polish national anthem is basically just a remix of what Hey Canadians used to play!😁

Hamilton's apology to Kimi:
"I apologize to Kimi if I had cost him the race, but these sorts of things happen."

Listen to him acting like there's only a 30% chance he messed up his teammate's race instead of it being a 100% certainty. What an idiot!!🙂🙂🙂

It'll be interesting to see how much grip we get in the hairpin now that they've laid down a fresh layer of asphalt. I wonder if what Kimi said was true—that he lost a ton of time there yesterday because of the track surface being damaged. Honestly, though, it’s hard to say; Lewis managed to grab most of his advantage in that final chicane where he was significantly faster than Heikki. That’s just his style: aggressive, late braking, and hugging those curbs to the limit. It’s tough to call this one, though, since we almost always see a Safety Car here, plus there's the chance of rain. Kimi really needs to do everything he can to jump Robert Kubica at the start, especially since he's been struggling with his launches this season. As for Alonso, he might land in 5th or 6th, and he definitely has a shot at staying ahead of the other BMW and McLaren drivers. I'm rooting for some new points for Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg, and Rubens had a great qualifying session—he's probably running with a full tank, so maybe he can snag a spot in the top 8.

I don't think they mean the wall Robert Kubica hit last year; they're likely talking about the famous Wall of Champions, which is right where it's always been.

There are two champions out there on the track.😁

A bit more than that; a 0.6-second gap is actually quite significant.😁

Lewis Hamilton just absolutely crushed it. The way he flies through that final chicane is unreal. His driving is on some pure Ayrton Senna level.🙏

McLaren seems to have the edge on top speed through all the high-speed sections. Lewis is nailing that final chicane, too. That’s where Ferrari is really dropping the ball. To me, Lewis is the clear favorite here.🙂

Ferrari didn't mess up by having a wheelbase that was either too short or too long. That's just speculation from "F1 experts."
In reality, Ferrari was actually the car that worked on almost every track.
Sure, they weren't at their absolute best on tracks requiring "extreme" setups (like Monaco or Monza), but that's about it.

Ferrari did extend the wheelbase on the F2007.http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2007/...aunches-f2007/
Ferrari went with a shorter wheelbase this year.
http://www.formula1news.net/ferrari-...ter-wheelbase/

A longer wheelbase works great for long, sweeping curves. But it's a struggle in tight corners—especially those narrow chicanes at Monza. Last year, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso could be really aggressive through those tight sections, essentially "cutting" them to the limit, while the Ferraris struggled big time. It was particularly noticeable at Monza, where Ferrari was usually strong but couldn't compete last year. They had issues on other technical tracks too, like Montreal, Monaco, Hungaroring, and Fuji. On the flip side, they absolutely crushed McLaren last year in Turkey, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. This year in Monaco, the Ferrari looked very competitive, though the Monaco lottery helped Lewis Hamilton grab the win, so it wasn't as obvious. My take is that last year they opted for a longer wheelbase to gain time on high-speed corners, which worked, but it cost them dearly in the tighter sections. Now that they've shortened it, the balance is back—they're solid everywhere. 👍

To use a quick analogy: those chicanes at Monza like Retifillo and della Roggia are like a slalom course; you wouldn't do great if you were on long downhill skis, right? On the other hand, a corner like Pouhon at Spa or T8 in Turkey is more like a straight downhill run, where those longer skis would definitely give you the edge.

Ferrari really missed the mark last year because of those wheelbase issues, which cost them on several tracks, including this one. I think they’ll be strong here this time around, but Lewis Hamilton is going to be a serious threat to them.
