boldfox45 said:Guys, I need help!

How do I get rid of that Administrator login screen when my PC boots up on Windows 7? Right before I actually get into the system, that Windows logo pops up, and I have to click it just to get things moving normally.
Any way to skip that?

Thanks!

I'm guessing your own user account already has admin rights, so you probably don't even need to log into the main admin account. If that's the case, just hit up the command prompt:

net user administrator /active:yes -to enable it
net user administrator /active:no -to disable it

You could also mess with the user group settings, but honestly, this way is way faster, I guess.

John Clark6 said:I mean, he’s got drivers for everything, but look at what happened to me. I have headphone jacks on the side of my motherboard, but with these Windows 7 drivers, it's like they don't even exist. My headphones just won't work. I tried installing the old drivers but they refuse to cooperate, so I grabbed the new ones from the Gigabyte homepage, but it feels like they just slapped Windows 7 onto them anyway. Plus, Firefox keeps blocking stuff and other little annoyances. Honestly, I've been second-guessing this whole thing for two days now. It's just constant little headaches...

John Clark6,

Regarding Firefox—does it ever act weird with the HTTP protocol? Like, sometimes it's fine, but when you have a bunch of tabs open or torrents running, it just hangs while trying to load new tabs. If that's what you mean, I deal with that too... feels like it might be an issue with having too many half-open TCP/IP connections.

As for the headphones, try going into the Realtek audio driver settings and check "disable front panel jack detection." That usually fixes it.

And about opening those old Word docs, it really shouldn't matter whether you're using Office 2003 or Office 2007.

Yeah, I did, just yesterday.

Watched it... finished it. I guess it fits right in with the vibe of the fourth and fifth ones.
The first movie was actually solid—probably the only one worth mentioning. I feel like I’m only powering through these sequels because I liked the original, so I might as well see it through.😁

Kyle Gray89 said:I'm installing Windows 7 and I've got this weird issue with my sound card.

Back on Windows XP, whenever I plugged something into the 3.5mm jack, a little window would pop up asking what I just plugged in. Now, I have both my headphones and my monitor speakers plugged in at once.
But now I can only use one or the other because only one output actually works.

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E8200, 2000 MHz (6 x 333)
Realtek ALC889A @ Intel 82801 IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-2] PCI
Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4

Kyle Gray89,

Maybe try going into your Realtek audio controller settings and check "disable front panel jack detection."
That should do the trick, making the front and back audio jacks work at the same time (like having your headphones and speakers active together).

slyrider20 said:Yeah, the issue was with WinZip too, so I switched over to 7-Zip. But honestly, nothing’s working right. It won't even unpack properly, so I just opened the archive and ran the installer from inside there. That worked, I guess, but then a whole new mess started. It won't accept the key I made with the keygen because it says 'this folder is not writeable'! WTF, this is all because of Windows 7. I eventually just lost it and deleted the whole damn thing. Does anyone know how to fix this 'not writable' folder nonsense?

Folder settings: try changing the ownership, give your user group full control, or just run the installer as an admin... those are a few ideas to get you started.

Anyone got a fix for this regarding the weekly builds (build 7600, RTM):

The "Folder in Use" dialog keeps popping up saying, "The action can't be completed because the folder is open in another program. Close the program and try again."

I’m seeing this message constantly whenever I try to delete or move a folder.
And before all the self-proclaimed gurus weigh in, there's zero chance this system is crawling with viruses or spyware.
Also, don't even bother suggesting some third-party unlocker or deletion tool. That's off the table.
Plus, booting into Safe Mode is a total non-starter—I mean, an OS where you have to reboot just to cut/copy a movie from one folder to another is pretty much useless, right?
There isn't any obvious process actually holding the file in memory (like, say, bsplayer.exe keeping an .avi file busy).
I suspect maybe the OS is hanging onto the folder in memory for a bit due to something like indexing services, previews, or thumbnails.

Edit no.1: I've already disabled the Index service and changed the ownership of the entire Hard Disk Drive to Administrator, but the error is still happening.
