It’s a little hard for me to wrap my head around how nobody noticed those posts—specifically when my response to tomatix was wiped out so fast. All I did was suggest he check modern medicine to figure out what his actual issue is.
Furthermore, you're labeling my reply as offensive, yet in the post you quoted, someone calls education system employees mentally unstable without making even the slightest attempt at an actual argument. And let's not forget the credentials of the user making that claim—someone who has consistently displayed the logic and educational level of a failing elementary schooler throughout this entire discussion. And usually, any "praise" directed toward people here (or elsewhere) who actually think scientifically, logically, and rely on facts goes completely ignored—which is quite a feat for user 52_9, given their talent for dragging topics off into endless tangents... but the moment someone writes that proponents of an alternative lifestyle are lunatics, or something similar, it gets promptly deleted or the user gets banned.
I get that the Alternative subforum is supposed to be... niche... but apparently, hate speech is forbidden for everyone. ...unless the visionary designers of this site decide to rename the "Alternative" section to the "asylum for all kinds of madmen, mentally zakinuti, and massive ignoramuses who are forbidden from trying to protusloviti because marketing being the only thing that matters"—just so nobody accidentally tries to explain something, correct a mistake, join an actual debate, or point out an injustice (like antisemitism, for instance).
... so I get a warning (yellow card) for "insulting forum members" (not to mention there used to be red ones too) because of this post:

Am I me? said:The law of the lever was discovered by Archimedes (287-212 BC) just like the approximation of Pi, so your pyramid theory completely falls apart. Mind you, he studied in Egypt.
well, you actually made me laugh... what, did people stop using levers before Archimedes defined the law? Did nobody know about the radius until he calculated it? What’s next: people didn't bother sailing until Archimedes decided to take a bath?
you sure are a heavy hitter when it comes to logic
What about the Clock of Giza? Coincidence, or...?
hold on... some psychologist pretending to be an alternative expert spins a sci-fi story about semantic terms and geometric parameters related to the pyramids to prove—what, exactly?
Quote:
I partially agree, but it’s even more ridiculous to suggest the pyramids were built using levers, primitive scaffolding, harnessed camels, and miraculous copper axes that somehow slice through granite. All this nonsense just to serve some tombs! You're the one talking nonsense, along with others like you who can't tell the difference between hardness and brittleness and get all your knowledge from picture books.
Just like with the May, Inca, etc., we can only marvel and invent new theories, which is much better than sitting with arms crossed accepting the outdated science of some half-crazed high school professor who had the exact same kind of teacher.
Keep your own mental state—and everyone else's—to the psychology subforum, along with that obvious resentment toward teachers who clearly gave you failing grades for a reason.
... while at the same time, these messy posts stay up for days without any moderation:
tomatix said:Oh, please, don't go defending Harame... that guy is basically the textbook definition of extreme naivety and a completely flat, two-dimensional way of looking at life. Honestly? He’s either some poor soul programmed through twenty-five different government internships, or just some uneducated kid obsessed with the American flag, or maybe he was just born this way by design. I seriously doubt he’s naturally stupid...
tomatix said:Getting angry at you would mean being even worse than you are... in terms of closed-mindedness, brainwashing, and having that primitive, narrow view of reality and those "academic," pseudo-intellectual, two-dimensional perspectives on the world... You federal employees are exactly that, simply because that's who you are...
It isn't even worth reading your responses in detail, Vatanen, because they are so heavily shaped by the daily media propaganda that the world leaders serve up so elegantly directly into our brains via the technology we all consume... and that's it... we are nothing but pure consumers...
Once you realize you're just an ordinary consumer and nothing more in today's world, maybe then you'll understand that everything surrounding us is commercially fraudulent. Only then might you actually manage to stand up against this fake world and its propaganda machine...
Vatanen said:😂😂 It's a miracle how someone can spout such cheap propaganda while appearing intelligent (to idiots 😂 ) ...
... so I'm curious, what exactly constitutes my "insulting" behavior when the quoted posts from other users are considered perfectly fine? Am I not free to respond to them in the same tone? And if I am not—why? And please, dear moderators or super-mods, don't try to throw my past behavior and actions in my face; that's just a cheap way to dodge your own lack of principle...

... yeah, I was pretty much going for that same sentiment 😍 ... just some totally uninspired hackers...
... let's be honest, even before this unfortunate war broke out, you could hear older folks in regions heavily influenced by German culture using the term "sport"... back then, I suppose the original word for "physical exercise" probably carried some rather unwelcome connotations...
Kimberly White63 said:And who would actually stick around this forum if we had to hand out citations for stuff like that? 😬
...God help us... just a small observation that might also speak to someone's general level of awareness (we should probably add "awareness" to the subcategory 😁)...
Look, it's obvious that no matter how hard the moderators try to make the scope look decent, there will always be critics and reasons to complain... I’m all for a more open discussion, provided the participants are on equal footing (though, granted, it's pretty presumptuous to judge that from an outsider's perspective). But when you're dealing with an asymmetrical situation—where one person is trying to maintain some semblance of decency while the other person refuses to watch their mouth—then yeah, I'm definitely in favor of shutting that kind of communication down...
... I really shouldn't have to bring up a member like Sharxtreme, who hasn't done anything wrong at all...
... so there 🤷...
... I’d love to be proven wrong here, but I’m starting to get the feeling that having a little private friendship with the mods is what actually matters, while the actual "guilt" is just a minor detail. It’s almost as if the content of what you write on this forum doesn't matter nearly as much as whether you have a decent-sized avatar and a well-formatted signature...

Honestly, I’ve got the afternoon shift tomorrow, but still, the commute tonight is going to be a total mess... uh... and 14 miles it’s one-way traffic...
Give me a break... what defines a "real man" anyway? 😁The only thing that actually matters is making sure your fingers and toes don't fall off from frostbite—everything else will eventually warm up...
Personally, I’m more concerned about the fact that it’s always pitch black and the traffic is a nightmare whenever I have to head out...
Arthur Ross said:... This backpack is driving me crazy; I'm sweating through my shirt like I'm running a marathon. I think it might be time to look into some panniers. My daily uniform is just shorts, a short-sleeved tee, and sneakers. But my back? It's absolutely soaked.
How are you guys hauling your gear?
That’s why I stick to a messenger bag—depending on what I need—that I just sling over one shoulder. It rests against my lower back/hip area, which lets my back actually breathe. 😁 The downside, obviously, is that if things get too heavy, it starts sliding around or feels like it's about to fall off...

I was commuting from San Francisco-Oakland down to San Jose... luckily, by the time I hit Beverly Hills in the evening, the rain had almost died down...
I was rocking those waterproof gaiters from Lidl, a cheap plastic jacket from Walmart, and some grocery bags tied around my feet... 100% waterproof (well, on the outside, 😬) ...
Maybe I’m just missing something here, but in these 106 posts, I haven't spotted a single insult, a single urge to fight, or even a hint of an ad hominem attack (not even close to anything that would warrant a ban)... on the contrary, all I see is the kind of top-tier intellect any forum would be lucky to have.
So, what gives? 🤷
... yeah, yeah, I hear you already: "it's none of your business how others play their hand"—what a disgusting way to run a community.
... respect is a two-way street—as long as they respect me too 😁
Has anyone else here actually been slapped with a ticket for running a red light on a bike?
I once had a cop car pin me down in a way straight out of a Hollywood action flick 😍 ... they finally let me go after I told them I didn't have my ID on me (total lie), following a massive lecture on "road safety." It was pretty rich considering the nearby bike lane was completely choked with parked cars—talk about hypocrisy. I only ran the red because there wasn't a single car in sight for a mile (aside from the cruiser right behind 😬 )... ever since then, I make sure to look left, right, and over my shoulder (whenever I'm running a red, obviously)...

In reality, you don't even need to swap out both rims—just the drive wheel should suffice. If you use tires with matching diameters, the center of gravity and overall geometry shouldn't shift significantly... though, sure, you’d probably want to upgrade to a larger sprocket to actually feel any kind of difference...
Otherwise, this whole concept of mixing wheel sizes is known out there as "69ers" (usually with a larger front wheel), and brands like Cannondale (and I think Scott too) specifically design bikes that bridge the gap between MTB and trekking wheels...
Dana Reyes5 said:A 28'' wheel is already 50mm wider in diameter than a 26'', which works out to 25.4mm more in radius. Do you honestly believe there’s enough clearance? And I’m not talking about the width of the fork—I mean the radial clearance...
...it really comes down to the specific frame geometry, but on plenty of models, it’s doable. I once worked on a custom Colnago that handled it just fine... though you also have to factor in the tires, and let's face it, MTB rubber is significantly bulkier than road tires...
