Focus on the 12V rail since that's where modern rigs pull their juice... If it's 10A, that's 120W. You just multiply Amps by 12 to get Watts.
The issue is how manufacturers lie about it. For example, my Fortron supposedly has two rails—one at 15A and one at 16A—so people use some broken math to think they have 31A, which equals 372W. It doesn't work like that. My PSU actually only puts out 23.75A, or 285W. The problem is you can't max out both rails simultaneously.
So you're never really sure. You have to find actual bench tests using real measuring tools if you want the truth. Sometimes manufacturers include tables on their websites showing what all the rails can handle at once.
Take a three-rail Chieftec 550W, for instance... you can only run two rails at once, and even then, not at full capacity (only 360W).
Brands like Corsair and Seasonic don't play those games. That’s why a 520W Corsair unit is actually more powerful than a 650W Chieftec.
My girlfriend is here nagging me to wrap this up. Hope that helped. 🙂
wiredmarlin5 said:Solid choices, but do you even realize that Chieftec only puts out 360W on the +12V rail? It's cutting it close. Also, Kingmax isn't exactly the budget option anymore. You might want to look into Supertalent or Crucial Value instead. 🙂

wiredmarlin5 said:northerncrane33, when are you actually buying? You think you can pull a whole rig together for $400?
wiredmarlin5 said:You did a hell of a job overclocking that CPU, considering the motherboard you're using is absolute garbage.
With a decent board like a DS3, that processor would have hit well over 3.2GHz.

granitehound202 said:He can only mess things up if he cranks the voltage... he could be overclocking for 100 years without raising the voltage and he won't "fry" anything for sure.

Can't even Google a program name to download it.
Don't know how to bump up the voltage, and you're looking for a program to do it for you?!
🙄
Stay away from stuff you don't understand before you screw something up.😉
Alex Foster5 said:Does anyone actually know where I can find these programs? AquaMark, FutureMark 3DMark?
Alex Foster5 said:Can someone tell me if there's a program to bump up the processor voltage? I've scoured my entire BIOS and found nothing. If one exists, where can I get it?
Raymond Hernandez14 said:First off, the photo doesn't even do it justice—it looks way better in person. And those two stickers? I just wanted it to look symmetrical, haha.
And hey, if you actually manage to build something like this using nothing but basic hand tools, let me know!

Seriously, does your monitor flicker every time you switch resolutions? It drives me crazy.
The side panel came with the case. I wasn't planning on making a custom glass one anyway, so whatever, it stays.
Ronald Johnson10 said:Figured I’d jump in too:
First, here’s a photo of the open case.
Next, a shot of the build in the dark. (Just one LED and the stock fan glowing)
And finally, a picture of the whole rig.
It’s nothing crazy, but I did put some work into the cable management behind the motherboard. Since the fan had lights, I picked up an extra LED to boost the blue glow. Thinking about grabbing a blue CPU cooler next, maybe even a clear case—though those things are pricey, probably around $267. We'll see how it looks after that.😁
