Nope.
Used PC builds: What are they worth? in Desktops ·
Anonymous said:So, I’ve been staring at this ASUS M2N-SLI deluxe Kingmax 2 lately—just sitting there on the bench—and honestly, it’s a trip. It’s one of those boards that really makes you think about how much hardware changes in what feels like a heartbeat. You look at the specs, you look at the layout, and you just realize we're living in a very specific era of PC building. It’s got that certain... presence. Not necessarily "modern powerhouse" presence, but more like "I know exactly what I am" presence. Anyway, just some thoughts while I tinker around.

I can't quite remember if I was looking at the AMD Athlon 64 dual Core 2400 or the 2600—it’s one of those things that slips your mind right when you need it—but either way, they're both interesting little chips.
So, my Nvidia 8500 is basically running a sauna in here—it’s overheating like crazy.

The VGA connector is detachable—you can just unclip the whole cable if you don't actually need the VGA connection.

Length—190 mm.
Width — 23 mm.
Height — 62 mm.

You got a leveler at your place? 😁
It’s really not going to be an issue—honestly, it doesn’t matter at all what’s sitting on your other drive. You just need to make sure you head into the BIOS and set that Windows 7 disk as the primary boot device.

The paper weight is somewhere between 23 and 85 lb. As for toner—you’ll want to find someone else to bug about that.

Well, look, for some $233, I seriously doubt you’re going to see any more gains. For certain $333, you’ve already got access to the Carbide 500 R—which, if you ask me, absolutely blows that Cosmos out of the water.
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Run a registry clean with CCleaner first, then try the installation again. Look, these aren't some mysterious bugs—there's a reason why an actual installation and uninstallation procedure exists instead of just deleting files whenever you feel like it.

Michael Smith93 said:Basically, I checked out yours and it looks solid—except for that 36A on the 12V rail? Isn't the limit usually 20A for 12V? Plus, 36*12=432... lol.
I’ve just got one more thing to ask: Is it actually better to grab a PSU with a single 12V rail or one with multiple rails (like 12V1, 12V2)?
I read somewhere that having multiple rails lets you pull more power (since a single 12V rail might be capped at 20A). So if I get a PSU with two 12V rails, does that mean I get two cables? And then one goes to the motherboard while the other just sits there looking pretty? 🤷

That 240VA per rail thing is ancient—it's an old ATX spec that hasn't been relevant for ages. As for the multi-rail situation, most PSUs just have one single 12V source that's split up into two, three, or more circuits. Each circuit has its own current limit so the whole thing doesn't start emitting white smoke. One powers the board, one hits the CPU, one handles the GPU, and so on. None of them are just "decorations."

A real-deal example of a unit with two truly independent rails—meaning two actual voltage sources—would be something like the Corsair HX 1000; those are basically two 500W power supplies crammed into the same housing.
Wait, so let me get this straight—you want to ditch your trash and actually have someone cut you a check for doing it? 😕

Give this a shot—just keep in mind the free version is a bit stripped down in terms of what it can actually do: http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html

Yeah, it’s alright, I guess—but nothing to write home about—they can get pretty loud with those fans sometimes.

Not really. Just check out this link.

Sam Roberts said:would you seriously trade $133 for two used 2GB sticks at $800?? because I’d rather just $83 buy a brand new 4GB DDR3 1600 stick instead

Which you can't even plug into a DDR2 motherboard—let's not confuse apples with oranges here. Just drop the link for those $133 4GB DDR2 1066 modules.

Something like this—but seriously, don't go buying one of those cheap setups with all the messy extension cables attached: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/ga620rse

Personally, I wouldn't touch anything weaker than an HD 7770—and honestly, even that card is going to start sweating once you push past 768p resolution. Look, FC3 isn't some game you can just run on a junker PC.

Asrock P45DE (LGA 775)
Intel Core i7-12700K
2x 2GB DDR2 Kingmax 1066
ECS 8800GT 512MB + Accelero S1

obviously, nothing has a warranty anymore...

Motherboard - $200
CPU - $600-$700
RAM - 2x$200
GPU - $250

Besides, this thing is still decent; it handled my Ryzen 9 on Extreme just fine... 😁

Just wondering what it would be worth today... I picked it up for about $10 $0.00 five years ago...

Based on what you listed... maybe $2500 max.

There's zero chance of overclocking on that board.
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Look, I’m telling you—this motherboard is absolutely not built for overclocking. You’re basically locked out of almost every setting except for the Front Side Bus. It’s probably just a crappy voltage regulator that can't pump enough juice to the CPU to even squeeze out an extra 200 MHz.
