I’m looking at this for Photoshop work and maybe some light, low-spec gaming every now and then. My absolute top priority is that it doesn't absolutely murder my eyes. Right now I'm stuck using this ancient LG, and it's killing my vision like I've been staring directly into a welding torch all day...
Twist the wires together, wrap them in some electrical tape, and you're golden. 😉 Just make sure you leave enough slack so that when this inevitably fails in a few years, you can just redo the whole thing without a massive headache.
mellowtiger83 said:You should probably squeeze about $1500$667 out of it🙂. Honestly, trying to pin down a price is a total headache because prices on eBay fluctuate like crazy! People overprice their junk and then slash them just to move it, so good luck dealing with the idiots who are going to try and lowball you.
Hey, thanks! I wanted to see what would happen. I’d never part with it for peanuts since it runs flawlessly, but I just picked up a new laptop, so it's time to finally get rid of this old tank.
Look, I’ve been running that free CS2 and everything works perfectly fine for me. Some buddies of mine who use the latest versions for work say it’s basically the exact same crap, just with a little bit of polish, but I haven't touched the newer stuff so I can't speak to that. As far as I'm concerned, CS2 blows GIMP out of the water.
I recently swapped out my old Nokia 3310 for another one, then hooked that second unit up via Speedport, and both times I ran straight into the same damn issues with the helpdesk guys. It used to be that you could just manually input all the data directly into the router, easy peasy. But ever since they moved everything under ACS, you have to deal with this constant headache of locking and unlocking ports just to get anything done.
Look, you can swap out that router if you want. Once you get it hooked up, if the connection isn't pulling everything correctly, just give the helpdesk a call. Tell them straight up that you're installing your own gear and ask them to perform a lock/unlock on the line.
1. Maybe they messed up your coordinates at the AT&T hub or something, so now you're pulling someone else's data traffic instead of yours. 2. Go ask everyone in your house if they got a call from an AT&T rep asking for their private info. 3. It’s possible one of your roommates or family members was messing around on your AT&T account online and accidentally bumped up the speed. 4. Or maybe you requested a speed boost a while back, and since they finally upgraded the local infrastructure, they just flipped the switch on you. You can jump onto your AT&T portal right now to see exactly which plan is active and check if your contract was extended—especially if you get a "yes" on point number two.
Look, just install John the Ripper on the same PC you used to log into this site, and you might actually crack the username and password. It’s totally legal, though I honestly doubt the free version even works anymore...
Hey there! Thanks a ton for all the info. My biggest worry was whether this school would actually give me a solid enough foundation to handle self-teaching through hands-on practice later on. I’ve messed around a bit with a Fisherman 17, but let’s be real—compared to a 50-foot sailboat, that thing is basically a child's toy. Thanks again!
Hey everyone! Sorry to crash this thread out of nowhere, but I’ve got a few questions I figured you guys could clear up for me. I’m looking to sign up for skipper training and want to know what the actual process looks like. From what I’ve heard, you have to pass for a smaller motorboat first before you even touch a sailboat? Is that right? Also, I’m assuming there are different categories based on boat size—I’m planning on building something in the 12 to 15-meter range, so which category would that fall under? One more thing: is the radio operator course included in the school curriculum, or is that a separate headache? Are there any decent schools in Chicago, how long does the course actually take, and what kind of damage am I looking at price-wise? Most importantly though, how good is the knowledge base you actually get from these schools? Is it legit or just a waste of time? Thanks in advance!
