If you ask me, this is pure auditory hell.
Is "Caravan of Love" stuck on a permanent loop in your head? Or what other songs are currently haunting you that you’d give anything to just erase from your memory right now?
It was a massive hit that really struck a chord, but man, it is a total irritant.

Join the caravan...

It's right up there with tender by Blur or R.E.M. Everybody Hurts Brrr

Brrr.

Anyway, I'm drifting off-topic again.

I’m pretty sure that mystery island show was actually a Czech series with a heavy Slovak influence. Or maybe I’ve got it wrong. Honestly, who cares?

Then there was that slightly twisted Scandinavian series, what was it... "White stone"?

And I can't forget about TerraHawks—total 80s deluxe vibes. 😍

I haven't actually heard most of these (except for Jimmy), but I’m just getting a kick out of how cringey they sound upfront.

Boy sets fire—every time I see their posters plastered all over town, I get this feeling... I don't know what to call it, but it reeks of that hardcore/math rock/emo hybrid. It gives me the creeps without me even hearing a single note.

Jimmy Eat World is so obnoxious I can't even put it into words. Pure repulsion. They're right up there with Simply Red, if not worse.
ruggedcrane22 said:"Such a Shame", "Dum Dum Girl", "Give It Up" and "Life's What You Make It" are among the best synth-pop singles ever. Now there's this record "Spirit of Eden" which even the most die-hard fans of this band hate, but personally, I think it's good.

I love Talk Talk. "Such a Shame" is probably the best synth-pop song ever made. Such a shame, write across my name.
After listening to "Spirit of Eden" (recently), I didn't even think twice before dropping some cash on it (at a sale, mind you). All that's left is to hunt down "Laughing Stock".

ruggedcrane22 said:another album considered weak (these days everyone thinks the whole band was garbage, though I don't agree) is "Synchronicity" by the Police. If you set aside the songwriting misses from Summers and Copeland (with "Mother" and "Miss Gradenko"), Sting was at the absolute peak of his creative (and sexual) power here.

I'll second that. "Mother" — ugh, gross! And I honestly can't bring myself to get sick of "Every Breath You Take" after twenty years. The Police are the gold standard. Even those guys in Šarlo akrobat were basically "borrowing" from the Police, right?

Bob Dylan-Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid - WTF?
Neil Young-Dead Man - one of the best soundtracks ever, gives me chills every single time I play it.

Signed. Along with "Blood on the Tracks," "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" is my favorite Dylan memory. It’s also tied to my grandmother's hometown. It's heartbreaking when I hear that tacky, white-trash metal cover of Knockin' on Heaven's Door.

By the way, "English Settlement" is a fantastic album. XTC always hits that "very good" mark—they rarely settle for just "good," and they almost never stop at being an "excellent" band. Total intellectuals.

idioteque said:shellac - terraform.
People trash it, but in my opinion, the album is great. Better than the overrated "1000 hurts."

Jap, an album that closes out with "Copper" has to be better than "1000 hurts," and it is.
........

je*ote, what a waste of effort. Douglas Taylor4, you are such a boring pain in the ass. I'm going to have to terminate you.
Dana Anderson4 said:Here are a few of mine. Most people tend to brush these off as the weaker entries in these artists' discographies, but if you think otherwise, you're just flat-out wrong—they're excellent (or at least very good).

The Pogues - Peace & Love
R.E.M. - New Adventures in Hi-Fi
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy

I'm with you on this one.

Peace & Love - man, what a record! Honestly, The Pogues with Shane are untouchable for me. It might not be their absolute masterpiece, but it’s incredibly solid and I absolutely love it.

New Adventures in Hi-Fi - this one was such a pleasant surprise. After the previous two albums which did absolutely nothing for me... you had "Out of Time" (which felt a bit over the top, though Michael finally hit those low, low, low notes and I dig several tracks), then basically nothing, nothing again, and then suddenly these beautiful "New Adventures," and then it's over. I have zero complaints.

Houses of the Holy - I just love it, plain and simple.

A few more for the list:

The Clash - Combat Rock (not exactly a crowd favorite, is it?)
The Smiths - "Strangeways, Here We Come" - a really cool record, and I'm not even a die-hard Smiths fanatic.
Blockade, I can't recall the name.

I can't even have a conversation about movies without pulling up Google Images first.
Whatever.

Location: local burger joint/McDonald's

Soundtrack: Suede, Smiths & Morrissey, Xiu Xiu, The Decemberists, and hopefully Ride, etc.

Cool.
But honestly, you'll ruin his whole vibe if you decide to go on a diet and become a vegetarian one day.

Alright, following "Weight," I’m on board.

Henry is basically driving Zelig around.

5. why stakla - daj dođi / SCH - during wartime

Why Stakla.
That whole lucky-break phenomenon they had is actually pretty interesting to think about.
If we're talking about them being a band from "my" era—say, a few years younger than me—
we never really experienced them as being *that* good.
The guys were great and fun to watch, sure, but their recordings and tapes always seemed to land in this weird middle ground—not quite hitting the heights of documented SCH or Sexe at their peak, but still a step above those similar local acts. They were stuck in limbo.

It took me a while to move the Cure, Bauhaus, and Siouxsie out of the "crn ruža / jabuka / oposum" category and into my current obsession zone. For all three, the sonic aesthetic is just incredible; honestly, the whole "darker" vibe matters way less than how good the music actually sounds.

The Doors are solid—at times, they’re actually incredible. I’m talking *The Doors*, *Strange Days*, and *L.A. Woman*. If they had just a bit more of an edge, they would have been perfect, but they’ll do. As for Jim Morrison and his "Love, Sex, and Rock & Roll" vibe, I'll leave that to the ladies.

I really need to sit down and give Thin Lizzy the proper listening session they deserve one of these days. I always enjoy hearing their take on "Whiskey in the Jar." If nothing else, I owe it to myself to get through their discography after that recommendation from Henry Rollins.

And all those semi-anonymous acts coming out of the UK in '77? They’re also on my list for a future deep dive—basically a remedial music history course.

It’s just too much to get through...

I don't know what to tell you—some people just lack any sense of logic. It’s like watching someone try to drive through downtown Chicago without knowing how a turn signal works; it’s frustrating, predictable, and honestly, just exhausting to witness. You see it happen over and over again, where people cling to these outdated ideas as if they were gospel, completely ignoring the reality staring them right in the face. It isn't about being contrarian for the sake of it; it's about actually looking at the facts instead of just reacting emotionally. If we can't have a conversation based on actual substance, then we might as well stop pretending this is a productive discussion.

What would a shirt design actually look like on a site like Redbubble? I’m talking about the color palette, the graphics, the typography, the spray-paint effects, the symbols—all of it.
