It’s not a huge amount, but it’s enough to ruin the fun for the hardcore fans. He kept tweaking those parts about adopting kids because he ended up adopting one himself in the meantime. Total wuss move.

1. They love Calvin & Hobbes (hard to mess that one up, though I still managed...)

I was just about to go grab those three cheap paperbacks when I read he used to swap out the comic dialogue. Man, that changes everything. It's not the same anymore. 😢 Luckily, I’ve already got all my treasures 🥳 😁 🐿️

Kevin Chavez3 said:I checked out that music page at amartinez.com. It’s basically just a digital footprint for someone’s musical journey. You look at stuff like this and realize how much work goes into organizing a portfolio when you aren't just playing in a garage in some suburb outside of Chicago. It’s all there—the gigs, the recordings, the whole nine yards. It reminds me of those old-school liner notes you used to find in CD cases back in the day, except now everything is just a clickable link on a screen. Some people love the minimalism; others think it’s a bit bare. Personally, I think if the music is good, you don't need a flashy website with neon lights and spinning animations to prove it. Just give me the tracks and get out of the way. 🙂

This is way too heavy. 😂

He was the oldest of the bunch in a family with thirty kids. You had his brother B, his sister C, those twins Č and Ć, and so on. It’s absolute madness. Imagine that kind of chaos under one roof.

Susan Clark10 said:Honestly, I’m done making excuses. I’m over watching The Simpsons. If I can stomach shows like Yellowstone or Succession, I can definitely handle Sex and the City.😬

Don't you dare bring Yellowstone or Succession into this. Those shows are actually good. 😎

Here’s the lowdown:
Summer Blue (Blue Summer)
It’s that legendary American TV classic, "Blue Summer," directed by Antonio Mercero. It dropped back in 1981 and follows a ragtag group of teens from all walks of life who bond over one epic summer vacation in Nerja (Malaga), dealing with all that messy adolescent drama. Chanquete, Tito, Bea, Javi, Pancho, Piraña, Quique, Desi and Julia are the unforgettable names of the personages of this series, which was filmed entirely on location in beautiful natural settings.

I remember two of the youngest kids on the team were named Franklin D. Roosevelt and Shark (this chubby kid who was constantly snacking. That cracked me up back then, so it stuck. It's hard to believe they're Czech...

Susan Clark10 said:And you don't have to believe me about the Simpsons. There's plenty of stuff you wouldn't believe if you actually knew me😁

If all your jokes are along the lines of "I haven't watched the Simpsons"... Man...

Just make an effort. Watch at least one episode. Seriously.

5. Blue Summer (some teen drama series... I think it was British🤔)

Not British, more like Spanish.
And I don't believe you about The Simpsons—you're just talking nonsense since you clearly haven't watched a single episode.

@Sandra Chase16/">@@Sandra Chase16: Grizzly was the man. I remember there was this donkey called "Number 7"🙂

If we're talking about shows that aired in the early Sunday afternoon slot, I’d definitely throw in Galaxy - Starship and Automan.

hollowseal33 said:Man, what was the name of that guy from the robot soap opera in Futurama?

Calculon, from "All My Circuits."

And then there's Bender's whole magnet issue when he tries to be a folk singer.😂

Futurama
Fry picked corn and I don't care
Bender picked corn and he is great
Take that, you stupid corn!

The Simpsons is alright. But man, Futurama... that's on another level.

And that little scared kid peeking out from behind those water polo players? Pure comedy. What is it—a piece of art? Sure, the photo looks great on a wall. But let’s be real... 😁

@Douglas Taylor4/">@@Douglas Taylor4: Not a single one has fallen yet. Damn. Stop acting like such a diva, lady. As soon as it hits the stands closer to home, I'm there, dOOd.

The January Uncut is perfect for those indie snobs with too much time on their hands. Besides the Smith cover story, you've got pieces on Wilco, The National, John Waters, and Lightning Bolt. It’s some top-tier holiday reading!

Kevin Chavez3 said:Well, that dead-end annoyance that kept me stuck inside has somehow morphed into a restless kind of hype where I can't wait to finally get out there. See ya.

Yeah! That's the spirit! Let's meet up at boldscout72's place for some warm-up tunes, featuring some terribly out-of-tune howling of "I'm a rhinestone cowboooooy!"

Smith is on the cover of Uncut 😍 Uncut included CD is "John Peel's Festive 15" featuring fall - Eat Y'self Fitter, Wed Pres - Everyone Thinks He Looks Daft, and Pavement - Gold Soundz. No McLusky. Darn.

@David Sullivan4/">@@David Sullivan4: Nope. Didn't even know you had that. As for me, all I've got left is Sepultura. It's war for terrrrrriiiittoooryyyyy!!!!! 🙂

boldscout72 said:Not really. You’ve already got everything you need right there in the All American Survival pack. Maybe throw in a framed photo of Gram Parsons if you're feeling fancy. 🙂
And for wheels, you're looking at either a Tennessee Stud or a '64 Oldsmobile Cutlass. :iain'tdeadyet:

😲

What is wrong with you, kid?! :ćuš-ćuš:
A horse, a Harley, or a pickup truck. Sedans are out of the question. Get it?

And what about us guys??? Can we get close?

Of course you can. It’s actually the perfect time. boldscout72 is all worked up right now—he’s vulnerable and totally susceptible to any kind of romantic advances. If you play your cards right, you could pull off something legendary. Tell you what, I’ll lure him into a corner, and then you can make your move.

Pro tip: he’s a sucker for anything Wild West. I bet if you baked him some pumpkin pie and threw on one of those white "Bubbles" style hats girls used to wear back in the Golden Age of the Wild West, you'd be set. That hat is a total game-changer, especially if you're rocking that "dead weasel" hairstyle again. Also, just try hitting him with a casual "hey there, sheriff."

boldscout72 said:Of course it matters. Just like every decent Viking wanted to go down swinging his sword, I want to go down with my style intact. 🙂

Let’s be real, you’re secretly dreaming about some gorgeous girl walking up to you and saying, "Hey handsome, I love your style." 😉

boldscout72 said:Correction on a typo there. May’s weapon of choice is just pure style! 😬

Speaking of cowboy gear, I hit a weird snag today. In that shop over near the edge of the Vlach territory—the one with the guitars sitting in the window—there was this massive guitar-sized box just chilling there. The label clearly read "Fender Banjo Value pack". Like, what kind of logic is that? What are you actually getting inside? A banjo, a family-sized bag of chips, two March Kubricks, and a little firework kit? Seriously...
