I might just fix that tonight, thanks for the tip!
Lisa Davis46 said:Jason Mendoza, man, I absolutely love that movie and the soundtrack—I could honestly watch both over and over again.
I actually just sat down and watched 'Fearless' for the first time, the one with Jeff Bridges.
The whole thing blew me away; Weir’s direction is incredible, and the way they wrote Bridges' character was just spot on.
🙂

I usually just tune them out unless they're truly exceptional—like Leonard Cohen's early stuff—or absolutely disastrous, like this week's winner. With Swans, I don't even think about the lyrics because you can easily just ignore them entirely (Dylan falls into that category for me too, Nobel Prize notwithstanding). Honestly, try translating what Marvin is belting out into plain American slang; it’s basically some cheesy motivational poster reading, "the road is my truth and my life," and all that nonsense. 😁
That actually says a lot about the whole subgenre, doesn't it? If this is supposed to be avant-garde, 😁
it's a bit questionable.

I first stumbled onto them back around '86 after hearing Igor Vidmar spinning Holy Money on Student Radio. I still remember how much that music messed with my head at the time. Then came '87, when Tiljak brought The Children of God to Off the Grid... though there were definitely some lighter, easier tracks that acted as a counterweight to those heavy hits.

That’s just because my taste isn't stuck in one lane. Sometimes I’ll suggest a massive hit, and other times I’ll dig up something totally obscure. I listen to everyone from household names to artists you've probably never heard of.
