It's a huge relief to see those four female soldiers finally get home, but the whole situation feels so incredibly heavy. I can't even imagine what those families are going through right now. Do you think these small releases are actually a sign that a permanent ceasefire is possible?
...Fine, pain relief. I guess that means after surgery... which is a problem because I'm allergic to Tylenol. Plus, I have bad gastritis, so my stomach can't handle stuff like Advil or Voltaren at all. If ibuprofen is out, what am I actually left with?
Hey everyone... I have a quick question (for 😁 now).... reading through some older posts, I noticed people mentioning paracetamol being used during anesthesia (or maybe just right after it wraps up).... why is that?
Then you catch the flu, and just like that, your quads are gone...
The doctors told me I absolutely have to strengthen them... but how exactly am I supposed to do that when my knee is killing me? I hit the stationary bike three or four times a week, but honestly, that’s about it. It is what it is. I’ve started hitting the local pool a bit too, though I’m not sure if all this is actually going to help much. Who knows.😢
Still just sitting here waiting for my call for that arthroscopy... anyone want to volunteer to tag along and get their meniscus fixed while we're at it? hehe 😂
The worst part is having absolutely no clue when they'll actually reach out. 🤷
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me and everyone else... My only real worry now is what happens if I have a panic attack right there at the desk.😲😕
Sure, sounds like a plan... I played volleyball back in the day, so my spike is actually pretty decent 😁 Yesterday was just one of those days where nothing went right. I tossed some rollerblades in the car thinking I’d go for a quick thirty-minute cruise, but life had other ideas, so I'm definitely hitting the pavement today. I've never actually fallen off them—not once since I first put them on—I only ever wipe out when I'm just walking 😢🤣🙏🙏 Even if I do take a tumble, it shouldn't do much damage to my knee; besides, any issues can always be fixed with an arthroscopy 😂😂
Richard Fox72 said:Man, I’ve actually had to go under the knife five different times just in the last two years because of a nasty car accident. Every single one of them was done with spinal anesthesia. It’s such a trip—they wheel you into the OR, you’re lying there on that table, and then they give you this injection right in your spine. It’s definitely a little uncomfortable, kind of a weird sensation, but then you just lie there and within a few minutes, everything just goes numb. Sometimes they’ll toss in something extra if they want you to drift off into a deep sleep too... personally, I usually couldn't feel a thing for about two hours after the surgery was over. Once those legs start waking up and you realize you can't feel your feet or anything around there, it's a wild feeling! They wouldn't really let me stay lying down for too long afterward, either... and honestly, you've gotta chug tons of fluids as soon as you start coming around, because apparently, that helps flush all that medicinal stuff out of your system.
Weren't you supposed to stay still for 24 hours after a spinal?
Go see your primary care doctor first. Have them run some blood work to see what's actually going on before you start guessing. It could be a dozen different things...
Maybe you're anemic, or maybe your kidneys are just acting sluggish...
Or maybe it’s nothing at all and you're just built this way. That's all I've got for now. Good luck.
So, what’s the move here? My knee is killing me, and I'm stuck using Voltaren and wearing a compression bandage every other day. I actually trashed this knee playing volleyball sixteen years ago, and they were already suggesting surgery back then. Turns out my meniscus was torn, and after taking a fall during my fifth month of pregnancy, it finally gave out completely. Things aren't getting any better. Honestly, I’d love to dodge the operating table, but I don't think time is on my side this time around. It feels like I've hit the point of no return with this meniscus, and there's no more stalling. Even standing in place for a minute or two has become a massive struggle. I'm only 31, which is way too young to just accept that my knee is shot. I still want to stay active, though mostly just watching from the sidelines now, but at this stage, it's impossible. And honestly, swimming isn't exactly my idea of a perfect lifestyle. As for my weight, I'm about 5'7" and hovering around 117-119 lbs. I'm pretty lean, so I assume recovery shouldn't be an issue due to my weight. I'm just stuck on how to strengthen my quads before surgery. How am I supposed to do that when my knee barely functions? People keep telling me it's essential. Anyone have any ideas?
Classic panic attacks... anxiety... Go see a specialist... they'll get you through this faster and with less pain than trying to DIY it... The only thing I can tell you is that when a panic attack hits, it feels terrifying. It’s not actually physical, but in that moment, your body makes it feel incredibly real... dizziness, choking sensations, nausea, blacking out, shaking, pure dread, and that desperate urge to just run away... it’s usually triggered by something deep in your subconscious that you aren't even aware of yet... It’s solvable, but it takes massive effort and willpower. Plus, you're going to need professional help and, in 99% of cases, medication... 👍
Thanks for the input... how long were you on crutches for, and how many days after surgery did you manage to head out on your own? Even if you still needed the crutches...
I had a medial meniscus rupture too. Now I'm just sitting around waiting for my call for arthroscopy... though honestly, I've been dealing with the pain for two months already. 😢(
If anyone wouldn't mind walking me through what spinal anesthesia actually feels like... especially if you've had one for knee arthroscopy. I'd love to hear about the procedure itself and how the recovery went. Thanks. 🙂
To deal with my gallbladder stones, I stuck to a strict diet and drank herbal tea for liver and gallbladder support.
When the acid reflux or gastritis hits, I just chew two Gastal tablets instead of swallowing them with water.😂
If the pain gets worse and the Gastal isn't cutting it, I start a course of ULTOP S. An internist prescribed that one to me.
They tried giving me two other types of pills, but they didn't sit right with me...
By the way, get tested for H. pylori. If you have that bacteria, there's a 99% chance you're looking at an ulcer. It's serious.
As for the nausea, maybe try sipping some Donat mg on an empty stomach in the morning, similar to what pregnant women do. It helps with digestion and a bunch of other things. Once you actually get your tests done and find the right treatment, the nausea should clear up. Just head to your doctor tomorrow, get your referrals, and book a specialist appointment. 😁 Catch you later.
Heh... I get it. I have a habit of dragging things out way longer than necessary myself. 😁
But look, just go get the referral for an abdominal UTZ first. Let that be step one. You might not even end up needing a gastroscopy...
If you're dealing with gallstones, they show up on a UTZ 99% of the time. Usually, when people deal with them, it hits right after a heavy meal or something that breaks the gallbladder diet. People often feel this burning sensation under their right ribs or even through to their back. Then again, it could just be excess stomach acid—that was my issue. My UTZ showed sludge and sediment, but no actual stones.
For me, medication and diet did the trick. Basically, just avoiding heavy spices and stuff like that. I don't even eat fatty foods or deli meats, yet it still caught up to me. By the way, age doesn't matter when it comes to stones. My mom had surgery for them when she was only 21.
Harold Perez9 said:regards I've been dealing with Salmonella for five days now. Fever, headaches, and nausea have finally cleared up, though my digestion is still pretty much non-existent. Not really a big deal for me, though...
So here's the thing... my girlfriend is worried she'll catch it through physical contact, saliva, whatever. I told her it's rare to pass it on through touch, but she's still sketched out. Can someone tell me how long I need to stay on the sidelines before it's safe to be intimate again without passing this to her?🙂
thanks
Wait until you get three negative stool samples back. Simple as that.☕
