Here’s my situation—M, 31, non-smoker, don't drink, average build...

Over the last couple of days, things have gone south—sudden diarrhea, intense cramping, and occasional stools mixed with bright red blood.

I've got a GI consult and a colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow under sedation. Honestly, I'm terrified this is something serious.

What are the odds this is just hemorrhoids? The blood is one thing, but the sudden change in gut motility—the cramps and the diarrhea—is what really has me worried.

Anyone have a recommendation for a solid doctor with a private practice?

So, you should probably head over to your doctor's office tomorrow for that wound checkup and whatever else is on the schedule. They’ll likely need to take a look at how things are healing, and honestly, it might be a good idea to see if you're due for a tetanus shot too. Depending on what they find, they might even suggest a little surgical debridement just to make sure everything stays clean and heals up right. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

I'm actually traveling abroad right now without insurance, and I really don't feel like hitting up an ER just to drop $300 or $400 on this.

And where is this whole tetanus thing coming from regarding a simple cut? 😕

you sure there isn't anything left in the cut? looks to me like you might have a foreign object stuck in there or something.

if it doesn't settle down, or if the redness starts spreading, the pain ramps up, the finger feels hot to the touch, or it starts swelling... get to a doctor. You're gonna need a round of antibiotics.

The thing is, I wasn't really paying attention since the scratch wasn't even 0.5 cm... I don't even know how I cut myself—just moving some things around at the office and suddenly noticed a bit of blood on my finger. I think there was a tiny black speck inside, and I actually tried squeezing it a few times, so I'm pretty sure that caused the infection... maybe my hands weren't clean, or my nails...

I started some antibiotics on my own; the instructions for Almacin say they work against skin infections, so I'll take them tonight and tomorrow hoping it clears up.

Are these kinds of infections common, anyway? This is the first time it's happened to me—I've cut myself a million times before, even deep ones, and they usually just heal fine without any disinfectant or anything...

I accidentally nicked my finger at home—just a tiny cut that didn't even bleed much. I didn't think twice about it until three days later when I noticed this swelling right where the cut was... looks a lot like a wart and it's pretty painful. The next day, a little white tip popped up, and when I tried to squeeze it, some pus came out. The swelling went down for a bit, but by the next morning, there was an even larger white head sitting there. Tried cleaning it again, but this time there was blood too. A few hours later, the pain is back and the swelling hasn't budged.

Any advice?

About a month ago, I noticed this reddish spot on my upper thigh—maybe 2cm long and about half a centimeter wide. It doesn't bleed or hurt if I touch it, but the edges look a bit rough, almost like scabs...
I figured I just bumped into something and didn't think much of it, but then I noticed today that it hasn't gone anywhere—which is starting to worry me a little.
I've attached some photos so you can see what we're dealing with... any thoughts?

About 2.5 years ago, Dad noticed a small lump growing under the skin near his shoulder. He saw his primary care physician, who told him it was likely nothing to worry about—just some fatty tissue...

Fast forward 2.5 years, and that little bump has turned into a ball about 4-5 cm wide. It’s incredibly hard to the touch and doesn't hurt at all, but it’s started pressing on a nerve, so his arm is beginning to feel numb.

Dad saw a specialist, who scheduled an ultrasound for a few days from now, followed by surgery under general anesthesia. The doctor mentioned that since blood vessels are running through that area, general anesthesia is better so the patient stays still—instead of trying to manage it with just local numbing.

Since the Dr. didn't want to speculate or give any specifics yet, I'm wondering what this could be. I've been reading up on it, and while it looks like a lipoma, I'm a bit uneasy because the doctor is insisting on general anesthesia and the mass is quite hard... and most things I read say lipomas are usually soft.

So, this is about my girlfriend. Her cycle has pretty much always landed between the 12th and the 15th of the month... but things got weird about three months ago. She had her period on the 15th, it lasted five days, and then just 11 days later she was bleeding again—another five days—which put it right at the 2nd of the month. Since then, it’s stayed on that 2nd of the month schedule...

I'm wondering how normal it is for a cycle to shift like this?

21, IT guy—spend way too much time behind a screen, plus been dealing with some mild kyphosis since I was a kid. Over the last ten days, this has been happening:

- Occasional blurry vision at a distance (saw an eye doctor, everything’s fine—optic nerve included)
- Tingling sensations from my legs through my feet
- Some weakness and a bit of nausea in my stomach...

Also, I've been on the road for the last three months, basically living on canned goods and meat—haven't touched a fruit or vegetable in three months... Any chance this is harmless and just a vitamin deficiency? My blood work has always been solid, never really sick or hospitalized before...

Could this be related to my wisdom teeth coming in? I read they can cause all sorts of issues, and I've got four of them moving right now—jaw was aching a couple of months back...

Full disclosure: I'm a hypochondriac, and honestly, I'm spiraling because I read these symptoms could be linked to brain tumors or MS...

Anyone have any actual advice? I won't be able to see a doctor for another 15 days since I'm traveling...

Went to the doctor today—just a quick exam and they immediately called it inflammation. I’ve been dealing with this stiffness on my left side for the last few days, maybe a bit on the right too, and opening my mouth is pretty painful lately...
They prescribed some Amazon meds, but I really need to speed up the recovery since I’m flying out to the USA this Thursday... Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe some old-school home remedy or something similar...

We're talking about a younger female relative here—she's 16. Back when she was 13, she was diagnosed with a cyst on her left ovary... it was about 10 cm, so they had to operate. It was a dermoid cyst (can't recall the exact name)—but surgery was the only way...

Everything went smoothly after that until last year. Then, a fluid-filled cyst popped up, maybe 5 cm. Her doctor put her on hormone pills, and the cyst actually ruptured after a few days.

Things were fine again after that, until today. Her period was 10 days late, so she went in for a checkup—and there's another cyst. Now they’re looking at treating it with medication again to break it down...

From what I gather, she's dealing with a progesterone deficiency, which the doctor says is the root cause.

What I'm wondering is... is it normal for these cysts to just keep coming back? Is there any way to prevent them permanently? And is there a risk that these recurring cysts could eventually become something malignant?...

Anyone have an idea what this might be? Maybe just a lipoma, or some kind of inflamed lymph node... though I guess it could be a tumor, even if I haven't heard of anyone getting one right on their back...

I picked up the cream. It helps, but only for about 3 or 4 hours before the itching comes back 😢 ... I used it last night before bed and was woken up again at 4 AM by the itch. Honestly, it's becoming unbearable—I had hemorrhoids before and some itching too, but it was never this irritating, and it didn't drag on for 7 or 8 days like this is doing now...

Does anyone have other advice for the itching? And roughly how long does it take for this cream to actually get rid of it for good?

If possible, I'd love to hear from other members here dealing with the same thing—how are you managing, how long did it last for you, and what kind of meds are you using?

BTW

The cream stings quite a bit for about 15 minutes after applying it—feels like that area is burning... Not sure if that's normal?

I'm 20, and I've been dealing with hemorrhoids since I was 18—usually pops up 3 or 4 times a year if my diet gets out of whack. It’s always just one external one...

Last time this happened, I tried some honey and St. John's Wort oil, and the swelling went down within 48 hours without any pain—but the actual hemorrhoid is still there, just slowly shrinking...

Here's what's bothering me:

As it shrinks, the itching just gets worse every single day. It's unbearable—it actually woke me up two nights in a row... I couldn't sleep because it's just that bad...

Anyone else deal with these same symptoms? How do you handle them... roughly how many days does the itching last, and is there any way to prevent it...

Hi everyone. My 13-year-old sister is dealing with Cytomegalovirus. It seems like she’s making progress with her treatment—her Pfizer levels started at 160,000, and after 10 months, they've dropped to 13,000. Could anyone with experience weigh in on this latest result? Also, I'm trying to wrap my head around what the Thermo Fisher Scientific B levels mean, since hers are trending up... We won't be seeing the doctor about these specific numbers for another three days.

AST= 400 (previously 588)
Thermo Fisher Scientific B = 700 (previously 487)

Igm=Reset (It says that again, though it was POSITIVE the first time. The doctor said we shouldn't do the reset)

My little girl had surgery about two weeks ago. Since then, she’s been getting these brief blackouts every couple of days—just for a few seconds at a time. It actually happened just now while she was walking; she went down and hit her head quite hard 😢 . I’m wondering if this is just because she hasn't been very active since the procedure, or if it could be some lingering effect from the anesthesia... I have a buddy who was grounded from driving for a month after his surgery because there was a risk of fainting from the meds

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any thoughts?
