Honestly, I should've just kept Mayalese on the roster...

I didn't say they were better—I said they're better for me. There's a subtle distinction there, if you catch my drift.

George and Picigin are the kind of bands I'll always show up for—grab some wine, hang out, and just have a blast because the vibe is high-energy and fun. On the flip side? You put that other stuff in a CD player and think, "My God, this is just ridiculous."

And let's be real—George has been playing since 1990, but 98% of his fans wouldn't even know he existed if Picigin, led by Max, hadn't come along and pushed George into the spotlight back in 2004.

Honestly, kopito is solid—better than Gego and way better than whatever Jean Jakopač is pulling now with his whole Jean and Mazguni act. Mazgoon used to be killer before they lost their edge. Gego is just some commercial project Max Jurcic cooked up after realizing he could turn some local joke into a full-blown show. Not to mention all those random garage bands trying to rip off this sound—trust me, my inbox is flooded with demo CDs.
So yeah, kopito nails their genre. And if you consider kopito "pop" music? Then it’s even easier to say they outclass Zečić, Matt Bulić, Severina, Minea, and Jelena Rozga...

Look, if we’re playing by the "to each their own" rule, then kopito is an awesome band within their specific niche—island rock, whatever. But if you’re trying to stack them up against Mozart? Then yeah, they’re trash. If you’re comparing them to Matt Bulić? They’re absolute gods.

So, did this whole debate actually go anywhere, or was it just a waste of time?

To the people acting like kopito listens to nothing but mind-numbing, boring garbage—honestly, why are you even hanging out in this thread? Just curious...

Taylor Patel2 said:you should probably start an anti-establishment band—wear vertical stripes and sing about slaughtering donkeys😈

If you actually pull that off, you'll be playing opening sets for Hoof at the next gig!!
Thanks for looking out for me—look, I just care about the IEEE and the music, and I'm doing my absolute best to keep things at a decent level. Honestly, getting this kind of feedback is huge; it helps me figure out what people actually want, since the whole point is to get the music out there. When people say they dig it? That’s really the only paycheck I need :-D

So, catch you guys at a show at the local venue!!

I've no clue where they keep the lyrics, but honestly—who cares? They fit the whole vibe perfectly anyway. The show was killer, too. Everyone seemed stoked—the band, the crowd... just one damn good night.
You're right, Matt basically spoiled you guys...

I've heard nothing but hype about Metallica—everyone says they're the absolute best—but I haven't actually made it to one of their shows yet. You're totally right, my bad. Publicly apologizing here to anyone I offended with that mistake; I'll watch my mouth from now on.

But hey, regardless of how they write their songs, they still rip!!

And yeah, if being Jerry Patel6 means being green, then fine—once I grow up, I'll change my handle :-D
Everything in due time, man. I'm leveling up every single day...
Did I screw up and type their name wrong? My bad..

If anyone’s actually planning on bringing them to New York City, let me know—I’d love to see them back at AOL.
Bryan Cruz33 said:Metallica was killer, but saying they could even compete with The Beatles? Please!
Clearly everyone criticizing here just prefers a softer sound >🙂
Whatever, to each their own...

Nah, no way. The Beatles were incredible—purely on songwriting, musicianship, and everything else, they’re just superior. Plus, they're great people; we'll definitely have them back sometime, they're absolute legends.

But that Metallica vibe... man, nothing beats it!!
Royal Rumble was killer... honestly couldn't tell if we were watching a fight or a damn football game...

WCIF are absolute legends!!! And yeah, let's be real—they totally stole the spotlight from The Traitors, and they only had like 25 minutes of material... Imagine when they actually become a real band...

The Traitors are good, solid enough, but I don't know—I expected a bit more from them... maybe just me.

Overall, I had a blast. How about you guys?
So, what, we’re using the aorist tense to measure how much someone knows American English now? Honestly, that would be a pretty hilarious baseline—I'd just laugh my head off...
The Ramones would probably put on one of the craziest shows at the Fillmore if they actually play half as wild as they look...
Only the real legends show up at KSET, but man, can they shred!!!
Alright, should we just tell them they're from Ukraine?
What if someone actually had the nerve to tell them they were straight out of the Soviet Union?
The Stooges kicked off back in New York City, Russia, way back in '89. Their frontman, Stas Bogorad, is basically a legend in this scene—honestly, the lineup is one of the heaviest not just in Russia, but across all of Europe. They’ve toured everywhere from Germany and Poland to England, France, and even Ukraine. Now, KSET is finally bringing them over to the States.
The Stooges have shared stages with big names like Dead Kennedys, Bad Manners, The Meteors, Mad Sin, Demeted ara go, Guana Batz, Batmobile, and more. They've dropped eight albums so far—you can check out their sound on their site here: www.meantraitors.de

As for Welcomin Committee in Flames? Think of them as a total trash'n'roll kamikaze assault coming straight out of Washington, D.C. and Tokyo. It's just a three-piece blowing things up with Drumsonic on drums and Dodo Eichmann—yeah, from the Babies—shredding on guitar. Toss in Kazuko Kono from Japan screaming these wild, perverse lyrics about her nipples and whatever else... http://myspace.com/wcinflames

Upcoming concerts at IEEE for March in Music ·
Look, regarding those listening rooms—you're spot on. The folks running them got hit with the exact same feedback you just laid out. I’d bet anything there’s a massive crowd of people who would’ve shown up to these events if they even knew they were happening.

Starbucks is for everyone; it doesn't have to be your personal cup of tea. But even there, people have been complaining way too much and acting totally unreasonable.

As for the concerts—we're working at it, bit by bit. Hopefully, things will start looking up soon.

At the end of the day, the vibe comes from the crowd, not the organizers. :-D

Look, I don't even know how to put this...

Beer is beer, alright? People drink it, some of us actually enjoy it (sometimes way too early in the day...)
There’s nothing else besides the beer because the faculty (yeah, we're just a bunch of engineering students) isn't exactly thrilled about the idea...
The lineup is what it is. We don't have anything better. You don't have to show up to this one—you can just stay home and whine about how things used to be better. All I'm saying is we're a new crew, we're still finding our rhythm, and killer bands will come back, eventually... Give us a second... It takes time. We're working on it.

And the Traitors are LEGENDARY!!!!
